Vintage, gin and pink lemonade, goodie bags! some of my favourite things in one room!
Grace L.

So many cafes opening up in Smithfield and the Dublin Vintage Factory is one of them with a tiny little take away coffee shop nestled into its Aladdin's cave. They sell a kilo of clothes for €20, and a lot of the stock is pretty deadly. I literally was in the shop 2 mins and bought 2 jumpers. Dying to return to have a proper look through their stock.

Cocktails and vintage clothing are two of my favourite things and the event here on Wednesday brought these two things together. Met at the door by pink lemonade I felt like i'd just stepped into vintage heaven. I loved the layout of the shop, with all the arty pictures and lamps and nothing looked cluttered but rather tasteful. For €20 you can buy a kilo of clothing, including handbags, scarves and shoes and there was a lovely selection of levi jeans, khaki jackets and lots more. You can also buy individual items so you don't have to feel you have to buy a kilo. However on that particular evening I didn't buy anything as I was on my way to dinner but I will be back.

Sale by the kilo - what a great idea. This place has a ton of great clothes for both man and women , shoes and other things all which can be bought individually or for €20 a kilo. As its vintage each item is a one off so if it's not your size you're out of luck - but that's half of the fun. It's somewhere that I will definitely visit on a regular basis and hope I find a bargain. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The place is very cool and I love the decor. Located on Smithfield square and very close to the LUAS stop

Yelp event at the Vintage Kilo Factory :)

Dublin really needed one of these shops since. Very affordable prices depending on how heavy your item weights, super friendly staff and also in an area with nice cafés to keep you caffeinated Agree with Catalina, lighting in changing area is very harsh and it's hard to know if the item fits properly or it it's the lighting catching it badly

Cocktails & vintage sequins! My kind of evening! #FixUpLookSharp

Filled with cutesy clothes, jewellery, accessories, children's toys, old books and the like, Lucy's Lounge is a perfect portal for mid-afternoon shopping heaven. Who knows what precious knick knacks you'll come across in this tiny basement? The shopkeeper is fitted out in an intriguing blend of the shop's wares, intricately done up in shawl, flowery hat, old fashioned dress and a mish-mash of accessories. She is a cross between Mary Poppins and the 'feed the birds' woman, and she is lovely lovely lovely! There are some exquisite discoveries to be made by whoever has the patience to sift through the wares in this store. Whether you're on the hunt for a vintage dress, a tacky 80s fluoro ski jacket, a pair of dainty gloves or a funky wall hanging, this place is worth a look! Beware: this shop is only open Thur - Sat 1pm - 6pm and Sun 3pm - 6pm. Time your trip accordingly!

What we have here however is a much more slapdash and sporty collection as opposed to the more 'classic silk dresses that feature the same flower-patterned design as seen on your grandmother's old apron but in this context looks chic and unexpectedly fashionable' look found in abundance in other eminent Temple Bar vintage outlets such as Lucy's Lounge. In fact, what am I saying, Eager Beaver isn't vintage at all, it is the definitive retro retreat. In point of fact, I stand corrected again as it's not even a 'retreat' - no that's far too subtle a word - it is in truth a big, slapdash retro bonanza! Does that communicate the zealousness I feel towards this shop enough for you? Untailored, informal retro is the name of the game here with a couple of clothes racks packed solely with 70's Adidas track-suit jackets, denim jackets, Led Zeppelin tees, Stan Smith trainers, Nike 1970s Elite pumps with a sweet nylon upper, waffle sole and old school colourway and even Puma trackie bottoms - see what I mean about the large array of sportswear. Be sure to set a decent amount of time aside so as to allow for a real hardcore rummage in and amongst this collection of quality curios.

Just a little off the beaten path along Seafort Avenue, this is the secret shop D4 dandies go to for the best of Fashion Weeks past, as previously worn by Social and Personal types. Step into the back for a look at filmier gowns and frocks, but steel thyself for the prices -there's no bargain basement prices (but you will get that Chanel blouse at half it's original sale price). My first introduction to Second Avenue was on a cold spring day a few years back; as we rounded a corner on a closed up shop I wondered if we'd gone too far. A moment later the shop front appeared, blocked in by rows of Land Rovers parked right in front of the shop window. Inside there was quiet as women fanned through beautiful silks and suits hung along the wall racks. At the centre table I fell in love with a black croc clutch that I would end up going back twice to mull over bringing home. The price tag ended the would-be romance.

On offer here you can find Gucci suits, Prada handbags, Alexander McQueen jackets and John Rocha scarves, all at a fraction of the original price (though unfortunately still out of my budget!). The clothes range from vintage to last season, and most pieces would be suited for the more mature lady.
