Om Diva knows how to draw in the shoppers. It has the most wonderful dresses and decorations on display in the window. Everything is very girlie, from their pink exterior paint job to their elegant wardrobes and dressers inside. I love coming here because all their stuff is neatly tucked away either in shelves, on racks or on counter tops. Their arrangement requires you to dig but when you find something good, you feel rewarded. Like their name indicates, the shop caters to spiritual divas, meaning that there's feminine dresses and yoga inspired accessories. It has a fabulous selection of scarves and incense. It also sells those wonderful yoga pants that originate from Thailand. You know the really baggy ones that you need to tie with a string? This shop is always a pleasure to visit and will appeal to anyone who loves shopping.

My friend and I were really taken with Om Diva, and spent a large part of this afternoon trying to one-up each other's findings in this store. There is so much to look at, so many colours, so many gorgeous self-indulgence gifts to be found on the shelves that it is impossible to go there for a quick shop. We found such an array of precious treasures that I'll be sure to hit this place up for a massive shopping spree, just as soon as I cash in my lotto ticket. Not that the merch is overpriced at all, it's just that I want to buy EVERYTHING in the store. There are some amazing vintage dresses upstairs (I'm not much of a goer for the newer clothing downstairs) but it's the accessories that make this place as special as it is! Awesome bracelets, the funkiest rings, cute hair clips, lovely scarves, shiny shoes... it's all here... a dress-up-aholic's dream I tell you! The girls who work in the shop actually seem to enjoy working there and they get along with one another, which always improves the vibe of a store. They were playing some great tunes until their iPod carked it. All in all a lovely place to shop - the staff are friendly but don't follow you around, and you could do worse than to buy your friends' birthday presents from here. And Laura's right about the coathangers - they are a sight in themselves (check out my pic, or check out the store itself!)

A friendly, funky little shop in Georges Street Arcade, Omdiva offers a good selection of clothes and accessories that you are unlikely to find anywhere else. Downstairs are the new or recycled designs - think dresses created from 80s t-shirts - while upstairs you will find more second hand and vintage. One word of advice - wear light layers, particularly if you are shopping in summer, as it gets very warm on the second level and it's considered bad form to mop your brow with the couture.

Filled with cutesy clothes, jewellery, accessories, children's toys, old books and the like, Lucy's Lounge is a perfect portal for mid-afternoon shopping heaven. Who knows what precious knick knacks you'll come across in this tiny basement? The shopkeeper is fitted out in an intriguing blend of the shop's wares, intricately done up in shawl, flowery hat, old fashioned dress and a mish-mash of accessories. She is a cross between Mary Poppins and the 'feed the birds' woman, and she is lovely lovely lovely! There are some exquisite discoveries to be made by whoever has the patience to sift through the wares in this store. Whether you're on the hunt for a vintage dress, a tacky 80s fluoro ski jacket, a pair of dainty gloves or a funky wall hanging, this place is worth a look! Beware: this shop is only open Thur - Sat 1pm - 6pm and Sun 3pm - 6pm. Time your trip accordingly!

What we have here however is a much more slapdash and sporty collection as opposed to the more 'classic silk dresses that feature the same flower-patterned design as seen on your grandmother's old apron but in this context looks chic and unexpectedly fashionable' look found in abundance in other eminent Temple Bar vintage outlets such as Lucy's Lounge. In fact, what am I saying, Eager Beaver isn't vintage at all, it is the definitive retro retreat. In point of fact, I stand corrected again as it's not even a 'retreat' - no that's far too subtle a word - it is in truth a big, slapdash retro bonanza! Does that communicate the zealousness I feel towards this shop enough for you? Untailored, informal retro is the name of the game here with a couple of clothes racks packed solely with 70's Adidas track-suit jackets, denim jackets, Led Zeppelin tees, Stan Smith trainers, Nike 1970s Elite pumps with a sweet nylon upper, waffle sole and old school colourway and even Puma trackie bottoms - see what I mean about the large array of sportswear. Be sure to set a decent amount of time aside so as to allow for a real hardcore rummage in and amongst this collection of quality curios.

Just a little off the beaten path along Seafort Avenue, this is the secret shop D4 dandies go to for the best of Fashion Weeks past, as previously worn by Social and Personal types. Step into the back for a look at filmier gowns and frocks, but steel thyself for the prices -there's no bargain basement prices (but you will get that Chanel blouse at half it's original sale price). My first introduction to Second Avenue was on a cold spring day a few years back; as we rounded a corner on a closed up shop I wondered if we'd gone too far. A moment later the shop front appeared, blocked in by rows of Land Rovers parked right in front of the shop window. Inside there was quiet as women fanned through beautiful silks and suits hung along the wall racks. At the centre table I fell in love with a black croc clutch that I would end up going back twice to mull over bringing home. The price tag ended the would-be romance.
