Love this little shop. Got a snow cone in the dead of winter. Lots of syrup and not a bunch of ice. But I like it like that. The orange cone was tasty. The small is large and the large is huge. Please be patient though as there's often only one or two people working here at a time. You can also call your order ahead of time and pick it up. Something unique they have here is funnel fries. We try to get them as often as we can and we love them! I am pretty sure you can get a milkshake of any of the ice cream flavors. I've had a few milkshakes and really enjoyed them. I feel like the flavor in the milkshakes is stronger than in the cones- after a little bit the cones usually just taste like vanilla. To be honest, I wouldn't really come here for the food as all of the regular food I've gotten here has been just ok. The cheese sticks actually stuck in my throat so I really won't be getting those again, though the flavor wasn't bad. This place was pretty cool. I love the area that's it's in which is in the Collierville Square. The prices are amazing you really can get your bang for your buck here. I tired the cup of ice cream the flavor was butter pecan. It was pretty good. The flavor of butter pecan is not super prominent but it was there. They have over 24 flavors or soft serve ice cream. They even serve hot food such as grilled cheeses and burgers. The Oreo milk shake was awesome as well. It was thick and full of the cookies and cream flavor. I found this gem place when COVID crisis was over, around beginning of summer time last year. Since then, it became my best ice cream place and lunch place in Memphis area. So far I tried Philly Steak, fish sandwich, chicken tenders, chicken wings, french fries, funnel fries as well as many different flavors of their well-known ice creams. As some of the previous reviewer said, it is a small place with small outside sitting areas. I usually use takeout options, so I didn't see any problem. However, the place is busy with lines throughout the day, especially during lunch time. They make foods and mix ice creams freshly upon they receive orders. The place doesn't have any ice cream already-made. That is the main reason that food and ice cream orders take time and are fresh, I guess. I do have a very sensitive stomach, so I know whether foods and ice creams are fresh or not. With this place's food and ice creams, I've never had problems. I'd rather wait to have fresher food, so don't mind waiting. When it became too soft, I refroze in the freezer when I came home. It was fine eating like that, too. It was still good. The place reminds of my wonderful childhood memories and plus their price is very very reasonable comparing to other fastfood places or other ice cream places. I don't go to other places any more. I tried: Ice Cream Cone: Peanut butter, Coconut, Butterscotch, Cheese Cake, Vanilla, Strawberry, Caramel, Pina Colada, Pineapple Fries: French Fries, Chicken wings, Chicken Tenders, and Funnel Fries Food: Philly Steak, Fish Sandwich I loved all the ice cream flavors and foods. The food is cooked fresh with each order. The shakes are enormous compared to other places. Sides are quite generous. Love to come here during the summer order our food then walk to the square, eating our food while sitting on a quilt listening to the music on Thursday nights. Mensi's is just "ok". Waited quite a while in the scorching heat for some ice cream only to get it and realize that Chick Fil A, Costco, and even Sonic are far better, not to mention far cheaper. In addition the people at Mensi's were not very friendly and didn't act like they appreciated my business. Honestly, I would much rather do business with mom-n-pop places over heartless corporations and chain stores, but when you pay extra for something that is inferior and on top of that, they don't even thank you for doing business there, then I usually don't return for a second visit. The food at Mensi's is only so-so, the service is the bare minimum, and there are no tables. If it's raining, you'll get wet. If it's hot, you'll sweat. So why four stars? Because Mensi's is a rarity: a true walk-up sandwich and ice cream joint. It's just that and nothing more. No attempt at a retro vibe. No effort to appeal to hipsters who would go out of their way to find it (which probably makes Mensi's even more hip). It's just a straight-up lunch joint where you walk-up to the window, order a serviceable burger, crinkle fries and some soft-serve for desert. Full disclosure: I grew-up in Collierville and went to Mensi's on numerous occasions while in high school, when the high school was in the building that is now the middle school and is just a few blocks from Mensi's. So maybe I'm a bit nostalgic. But I took the wife and kids to Mensi's when I was back in Collierville for a family gathering and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. As there are no tables at Mensi's, you have to go over to the town square to eat your meal. But that's one of the great things about Mensi's - if you're not getting your meal (or ice cream) to go, you get to enjoy your meal in the town square of the community that Mensi's has served for God only knows how long--at least since the mid-80s. We ordered cheeseburgers, hot dogs for the kids, onion rings and fries. The burgers are fried and the cheese is American. Not exactly write-home-to-mama burgers, but there's something satisfying about the simplicity of them, especially when enjoyed on a warm afternoon sitting on a bench or in the gazeebo on the town square. Between the onion rings or the fries, I recommend the fries. Though I'm positive they both come out of a giant bag kept in a freezer, the fries were a bit tastier. The chocolate milkshake I had came out of a machine, but it was much tastier than a McDonald's shake. The kids loved the soft-serve ice cream. My daughter even said she'd rather have Mensi's ice cream than Ben & Jerry's. So there you have it. I asked for a receipt, said it was in the bag, it was not in the bag, she acted like she did not want me to have the receipt. Since we moved here 6 months ago, this was our first time eating at Mensi's. WOW! My son and I had the hot wings. They were as good as I make at home, so we were pleased. My wife and daughter had the cheeseburgers. They said they were good. We like Mensi's. The place is unpretencious. A throw back to a simpler time. You'll have to wait while they fix your food. Service is slooooooooooooow, you have to stand directly in the blazing sun as you wait to order, and the size of their ice cream cones is curiously inconsistent. If you order 3 of the same size, you may well get 3 cones with wildly varying amounts of ice cream. If you mention it, the employees don't seem to understand what you mean.
