Not sure if bad seed or a bad apple We had this company come out and do a termite inspection for the sale of a house. The house was built in the late to early 90's. It had the typical dry rot around some of the patio beams and the exterior wood decor beams (nonstructural.) Anyways the report came back quickly with a bill of over $1700 and they could do it immediately. The couple that owns the house are both retired and are moving out of state so every penny they have counts. I looked online at Home Depot and to replace all the posts that needed to be fixed was about $150. The Company is clearly taking advantage of the situation. I suggested a second opinion, and today the second company came back with a total bill of $450 for the same work. Do not use or trust this company. I have been using Menifee Valley for the last 2 years (almost). Will would come and spray out home every other month, and if any issues arised, he was great about coming out and taking care of them. Yesterday, I received a phone call from David while I was at work, asking if he could come today, 5/15/18. I work late hours and heard his message at about 1am. I'm not a fan of calling ANYONE at 1am. I had to be back at work at 8am, and forgot to call him and tell him I was unavailable. I received a very upset phone call from David, stating he thought he was at my house (he was actually at my neighbors house, per the neighbors), and wanted to know where I was. I explained to him that I was at work, received the message he left at 1am, and didnt feel it appropriate to call anyone that late, and had to be back at work early, and forgot to return his call (and to be honest, I really didn't have the time). David became very upset, yelling at me for "wasting his time." He told me he would never service my home again, and that I was lying about my work hours. I told him I was happy to show him my time card. He also asked multiple times why I didn't just call at 1am. Umm- who would want to be on the receiving end of that call?! Not me! He continued to scold me. The whole situation was so unprofessional and down right rude. While I am sorry I did not return the call, one should not be showing up at another persons home with out confirmation. I finally asked him to leave my property (it was not until later I found he was never at my house), where he told me he "wasn't on my property". I later sent him a text stating that per him, Menifee Valley would no longer be servicing my home. Per their contract, cancellation of services needs to be done in writing. Something David did not do-- he was busy throwing a fit like a two year old. All in all, while Will serviced my home, I could do nothing but sing these guys praises. However, David--holy cow. Rude, inconsiderate... I was pretty shocked with how he treated me, all because I was unable to confirm an appointment. I will not ever be using this company again. read more

We rented a home in Menifee last summer for 6 weeks. During that time, I called around for a local pest company for maintenance spraying. David answered the phone, set up an appointment and answered my questions; and everything was set up immediately. We happened to find and purchase a home within that time frame, so once we gave notice on the rental; I called David to switch our service to our new home. The transition was no problem. We had been in our new home for barely 4 months when I found termite droppings in the window sill of my walk in closet. It appeared to look like very fine coffee grounds, I had never seen anything like that. I called the pest company (a company professing to be the "top" in their field) that did the termite clearance during escrow. 4 days later, they called me back and agreed to come inspect my home. This company showed up and told me that "...the scope of their work was inconclusive, and therefore they couldn't see through walls..." Now, I do understand x-ray vision doesn't exist however, this man told me based on the size of "termite pellets" (droppings) the termites had been in my home for 1-2 years. This "top" man told us since he "Missed" the termites that he could give us fumigation "at cost." So he calculated the square footage, and informed us fumigation would be around $1100-1200. He gave us his card and told us to call him when we were ready. A couple days later, the "top" man called me back and told me he made a mistake on his calculations. He told me it would be $1500 to fumigate our home. It took this "top" man almost a month to email us a quote and contract to sign, in very fine print at the bottom of the contract the price was $2200 to fumigate my house. We decided to contact Menifee Valley Pest since they were already doing our pest maintenance and see what they could do for us. Will came out and inspected my closet, then I called David later to get a quote. The price was actually higher than the "top" man quoted me, but we decided to go with Menifee Valley Pest because they were honest with us from day 1 and we knew we wouldn't get jerked around. Prepping for fumigation is one of the worst things to go through, David was very reassuring and his follow thorough was amazing! He answered all of my questions, and brought me extra bags to bag my belongings up in. We signed the contract and emailed it back and waited for the day to come. While we were out of town during fumigation, my sister had to meet up with fumigators with the key to our house. David made sure things went smoothly & even drove by our house to make sure everything was going well. read more

Not trustworthy at all. Stay away!!! Said one thing to my husband about his recommendation and also could not see any active termites or damage. Just some dry rot under a bathroom that we know already is from an old leak that has since been repaired and the rest of it will be repaired soon. I would not ever recommend this company. I recently purchased a home that needed to be tented. It also needed roof repairs. The sellers had the roof completely fixed, but asked that the tenting be done after the sale of the house so they didn't have to move their little kids out twice. We agreed. They tented and reported that they had knocked down some wood from the top of the house, but that was it. We were considering taking that piece down so no big deal. Fast forward to moving into the house and I noticed that a piece of the roof was broken and it was set off to the side. Funny they didn't report that but took the time to place the broken tile out of sight. I had a roofer go up there to check it out and he found that they broke EIGHT TILES... and two slipped out of place. Some of those tiles were brand new ones that had just been replaced. In fine print they state they are not responsible for any damages and they take full advantage of that. We did not need to pay an extra 400 dollars right now.. especially when the roof had just been repaired for us. I called and informed them and all they said was sorry. Absolutely ridiculous that they would stomp all over the roof without care. A good company would offer to fix something. One tile is one thing... but ten broken or loose along with the wood being broken. That is careless. Go somewhere else for your termite services. These people do not care about your home. read more

If you need him for something that's beyond his normal monthly routine he is there... We moved to Menifee 3 years ago, and had a spider and ant issue inside and outside our new home. Looked them up online, called and spoke to Dave, the owner, and have been with them ever since! Dave is always on time, asks questions in order to help you better, and is meticulous at his job. We have not had any bug issues except for ants after some rain, and he came out the same day that I called; He found an ant nest, sprayed, and they were gone! We've used their services for the past 11 years and we're extremely pleased with their services!!! They are a small business with the owner, Davie, and his brother in law, Wil. It is always either one of them servicing the house. They will give a call the day before the service to remind you of their coming. Always courteous and friendly. Very easy to talk to- both on the phone as well as in person. We used to have black widow problems at the old and the new house. After starting service with them, they are no longer a problem at all. Same goes for pincher bugs and ants. When we've wanted them to come out to spray because we will be having a party and want to make sure the ants don't come out, they are very accommodating and willing. David and Wil are both very meticulous about inspecting the property to catch any problems we may have. They nip it at the bud so those budding issues never become a problem for us. (They notice and catch the ants coming out before the summer season and stay on top of it). There are many large companies that promise good work but each time they come out, it's often a different individual whom you have to explain everything to... Menifee Valley Termite and Pest is not one of those companies. You can trust them to take care of your home and know that they will provice the best service! read more
