First the good news and then the bad... QUICK SERVICE: Contacted ROKA through Yelp and he came out for same day service - this part was great as we had something (racoon sized) die under our house. QUICK REMOVAL: He came out, got under the house and removed the animal within 20 minutes. THE BAD: ROKA didn't bring enough bags, asked me for Glaad bags and when I didn't have heavy black plastic, he improvised with what he had - wrapped it up in several bags and then unknown to me dumped it in my trash can. Obviously not proper disposal of a "wild animal" per https://wildlife.ca.gov/Conservation/Laboratories/Wildlife-Health/Monitoring/Protocols MORE BAD: After the animal was removed, ROKA went on to discuss other "issues under the house". NO PICTURES were taken of what he said he saw - I asked for pictures and he said he didn't take any and wouldn't go back to take them. He said we had active termite tubes, lots of rat evidence, falling insulation, etc... and to do all this and seal the area it would cost around $700. THEN THE UP-SALE and nasty comments about the female house inspector: after he was finished with wrapping up the animal, he asked if I got an inspection when I bought the house on April 28, 2022 and if I had a realtor? I said yes, we went with EliteGroup (April 2022) which are cert. house inspectors referred by relators who did take pictures of everything including under the house and it looked fine. He said who was the inspector and when I mentioned her first name - he said "OH, it was a girl?! She doesn't know what she's doing." I said nothing... and he then went on berate the female inspector to me (a female)... REALLY? I couldn't believe his disrespect and then he then went on to say it would cost $3000 to complete it all. WATCH OUT people... ask for pictures, don't buy into the up-sale. If you want speedy carcass removal - call him, but get a second opinion on pest control. Aug 2022: I got a second opinion from a professional termite/pest service and they did a very thorough job. RESULT: inactive termite tubes, some fallen insulation and no rats. To build an enclosure to the under-house entry + deal with all termite stuff and seal it - $550. And I don't need to do this until I see active termites... the inspection was free too! read more

Received an immediate response for a date and time but rescheduled for the next day to fit my schedule. We made the right decision and was not disappointed. He was on time as scheduled. The outside and inside inspection went smoothly and professional. No issues were found and he explained what and where he would be inspecting along with going over the inspection when completed. And what impressed us the most is he put on booties when he entered our home for that part of the inspection as we remove our shoes in our home. May be a small thing but it was a show of respect for us. We have his business card and will definitely utilize his services again when we need it.
