I was hoping to get a second…read moreopinion on the termite problem in this one-horse town, dominated by one Termite/Pest Control entity, Mendo Lake Termite. Aardvark Termite Contol is located east of Fort Bragg, Ca. and approximatley 1 1/2-2hrs. drive over the coastal range. I had made EXPLICIT instructions with "Jennifer" for a much needed second opinion on a termite infested, 110yr. old unit that is currently occupied by a tenant. I gave Jennifer explicit instructions on how to contact me (two separate phone numbers) with the added info that I live and work next door to the property we need to be looked at. I gave Jennifer explicit instuctions including that the building in question is located next door and I am just ten steps away. The second opinion was set up and it was on my special agenda. The timeline of his arrival was between 7am and 12pm. I was up and out there... opening up the north side of the unit so he could inspect (this is a rental unit).... I also gave "Jennifer" very detailed instructions that "he" should give me a call if he doesn't see me immediately...TWO different numbers...(cell service is spotty at best up here on the Mendocino Coast)......This was a very important 2nd opinion and I was out there early hoping to meet him. The explicit instructions left with "Jennifer" apparently were not passed on to "him"....who showed up while I was on the northside of the building in question. At noon, the tenant arrived and found a card on the door with the Aardvark Termite buisness. "He" ...presuming the owner, had arrived and left....never bothering to call me letting me know he was there....(Iwas ten steps away)....when I called their offices, a male voice informed mee that "jennifer" was not available...and I proceeded to tell him that I had previously set up an inspection with the owner or the business with a 3 hour window... and that I'd been out there since 7am waiting for him.... also reiterating that I live in the house next door and I should be called if he arrives within the 3 hour time window....he "presumabmade contact with the "owner" but did not tell him that "Jennifer" had messed up ther details of the meet-up.... actually coming back on the line and telling me that the owner was "angry" with me for "presuming" he would show up for an inspection then sit there and wait and make a phone call....waiting for the owner to show up........... this was TOO much! Knowing I had gone into great detail with Jennifer,the phone jockey at the time, and TRIED to let her know I was just next door, ten steps away......then learning he was "MAD" at me for not being on-site ....well, I had to conclude that the persons answering the phone and setting up appointments were r"covering their asses" by not admitting to the owner that I had given explicit instructions about the tenant's building and how to reach me next door if the tenant was away. Anyway, the retort from the owner combined with the "cover-our-asses" phone/appointment call-center was enough for me for the night.... more on request........

We're on a semi-annual plan. They visited recently and sprayed around the perimeter of our house, and used some localized treatment in a tree where they saw ants. We appreciate their eco/friendly and pet-safe practices (we let the spray dry and then our yard is safe for our dogs again). Also appreciate their responsiveness in setting up the visit by text, and then texting again when the tech is on the way to us. I appealed to the worker himself once again and there had been no communication between him and the owner. The worker came back to try one more time to fix the situation, which only made it much worse. No one followed up with me and I am now stuck with a damaged floor. Steer clear of this company.
