I tried ordering online. the website says things are in stock even when they are not I only learned about the item being out of stock when it did not show up as promised. There is no phone number for customer service to call to ask about estimated delivery. They require a written letter describing my issue and would not respond to emails. I eventually disputed the charge on my credit card since Menards never got back to me. BTW, the item is still listed on their site as in stock. read more

I generally don't go to Menards since I'm less familiar with their products but I will start shopping here more often since my recent visit was so positive. The store is very organized and I can appreciate the two-level layout with the escalator (for your cart too!) since it saves real estate. I was looking for a space heater in the middle of a cold snap and they had a couple left when other stores didn't! Props for staying stocked on the things people need. read more

Disappointing experience. Ordered some framing on-line. Got a message saying it was ready for pick-up. Pulled into the pick-up area, gave the guard my order number. She kind of directed me to the "barn" area. Pulled into a pickup spot and called the number. I was told I would have to go into the store and pull the product myself. Asked where to go. Kind of got some directions on where to go. Couldn't find the product. Asked someone for some help. They directed me to the other side of the store. I asked them who would be there to help me. "Somebody should be there" was the response. I walked to the front of the store and got a refund. Then the woman at the guard shack said I couldn't leave without a receipt. I told her to search my car for merchandise to see what was in it, nothing was In there. Menards did nothing to help me. They told me my order was ready for pickup, it wasn't. They told me I had to go to a specific area, that was wrong. They provided very little direction once I tried to find the product. Then, they tried to prevent me from leaving the pickup area. The entire experience was a joke. read more

That has everything from pet food to home goods supplies and Gatorade! More affordable than being in a relationship with Home Depot.

Employees are not knowledgeable they do not take concern on having product have a good product for helping customers load huge lumber into their vehicles it's a pain in the butt to return any lumber that Hass to go to the lumberyard read more

This place is so unorganized and has a serious lack of communication. My dad and I bought quite a few bags of mulch and told them we wanted to drive back and pick them up. Cashier said okay and gave us a receipt. Said that's all we needed. Well we waited for 45 minutes in line to get get to the gate where they said we needed a different piece of paper to pick it up. That way they can track how many cars are back there due to COVID-19 restrictions. The employee at the gate refused to make any kind of accommodation. Told us we had to go back in and load it on a cart and then do it again to get it in the car. My dad and I both have health problems, so that's a lot of loading/unloading when driving back there would've made it much easier. I get there's new policies due to COVID-19 but this place needs to be more organized and communicate better. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Will think twice before making any big purchases there again, especially during the pandemic. Our trip took over an hour longer than it should've due to their employee's gross incompetence. read more

An alternative to H depot. Very neat and clean. Most importantly, it's safe. You don't have to worry about things falling on your head. A bit expensive, but they do have many things on sale if can catch it. read more

After being disappointed at Lowe's by not being able to match the color of the fabric I wanted, we came to Menards to see if they could do better. Bryan in the paint department was super willing to help and even went above and beyond in his willingness to experiment with the colors to get the perfect match, rather than simply letting the computer say it was too rich of a color. He even said that it was fun to experiment with the colors to get the right match. I couldn't have been happier with the color that he achieved and on the first attempt. read more

We ordered carpet from Menard's on 05/21/2020. We began working with a young man that admitted he was new and did not know what he was doing. He then called someone else over to help us. The next employee was very timid and incompetent as well. When the 2nd Menard's employee came over to help us he cancelled out the whole order for some reason and started it over. He was unable to figure out the measurements we needed for the carpet, and I ended up having to do his job for him. We finally had all the correct measurements and he failed to select the correct shade of carpet that we asked for and were standing there holding. We borrowed a truck to pick up this carpet (which we waited over 2 hours for in the store), and contacted Raymond Williams to install the carpet. The carpet was fully wrapped so we could not see that the carpet was the wrong color. He installed the carpet on 06/05/2020. When I came home from work that day, I went upstairs to find the wrong shade of carpet had been installed. I told Raymond to stop, because he was installing the incorrect shade of carpet. I ran to Menard's to see what could be done. I ended up purchasing the correct carpet and now my living room has no carpet, but does have tack strip laid. This has brought injury to myself, my family, and my pets. I now have to wait another 2 weeks to receive the correct carpet, and schedule another installation date with Raymond and pay him to install the correct carpet and borrow a pickup truck again to pick up the correct carpet. I wrote in using their contracted complaint form which I had to mail in, and they refused to refund us for the instillation. This place is a joke, I will never order anything from them again. read more

Horrible Customer Service !!!! We ordered our house interior doors at Menards Richmond Heights on 5/19. 17 sets of doors were to be made by Mastercraft a special order vendor with Menards. We were assured that the doors would arrive in a weeks time and that text message would follow apprising us of the delivery. Sure enough a week later (5/26) we received a text saying doors were ready for pick up. We lined up our installers/carpenters to pick them up but were given only 6 doors. We were told the rest would come later. After 5 more days we get a text about arrival of doors. This time we ask them for delivery however only 6 are delivered. Our carpenters had another half day wasted. We made several calls to Menards to no avail. Nobody could definitively tell us the status of the doors. Finally in utter frustration we head back to Menards and talk with the manager. His only response is that it was out of his hands and he didn't know the whereabouts of the doors. We were told to deal with one of his salesman. The salesperson finally assured us that all doors would arrive by 6/15. In the meantime we have had a call from their installation contracting dept. that all doors are in. Another false alarm since they had no clue as to the status of the doors and had not bothered to check. Apparently the computer records were not updated they tell us now. After another few days we were blessed with one only one more door. Today we come to know that the remaining doors will not be delivered until 6/21 a full week after what was a definitive deadline and more then a month since we ordered them. We have now totally lost it. Excuses have ranged from bad workmanship and returns to shipping issues. Now the latest excuse is that MasterCraft (the manufacturer) have run out of raw material. Go figure !!I am an Architect and it's normal that there maybe a day or 2 day or even a week delay but I have yet to see such gross delays. What is most frustrating and infuriating is the total lack of responsibility, accountability or any remorse from managers or asst. Managers. Their only response is that it, "Is out of our hands". Their record keeping is awful. Sales person don't know whats happening in receiving and the store manager has no grip over anything. I frankly don't know how they manage. If this keeps on I don't see how they are going to survive among their competitors. We are at this moment at their mercy and they know it. We have absolutely no recourse but to grin and bear it. I am finding it extremely difficult to say this (because I am a fair person) but my experience with Menards customer Service is the most awful I have had with any store. Disgusting!!! They are a huge store with lots of goods but they lack the most important item in their store and that's a heart. read more

To say that I had a bad experience at this store is a gross understatement. I went to Menards to purchase materials to have a deck built at my home. The department I met with to spec my project was fantastic. My $2400 project was delivered to my home as scheduled. HOWEVER, there were 2 railing sections that were available when I paid for my order but on delivery day, they were no longer available. When I contacted the store I was rudely told that I would have to wait 19 days and that I would have to pick them up or have an additional delivery charge. They told me that they don't work with other Mernards stores to fill orders and that it was my problem to figure out another way if I so chose. The manager went so far as to tell me that it didn't make financial sense for him to arrange that. Having the contractor lined up to complete the job, I had no choice but to find a truck so that I could get them. I discovered that another Menards St. Louis location had over 300 of these in stock. I am confident that I saved money by going to Menards but the experience I had does not make me feel as though my business was appreciated! I promise, I will not patronize Menards in the future and will share this experience with family and friends. It's unfortunate that those that I dealt with will ruin future business and have a negative affect on others there that ARE pleasant to deal with. read more

Menards - Menards deck materials $2400 - Hardware Stores Near Me - Saint Louis, Missouri

Worst customer service ever Bought a bathroom vanity and vanity top. Found scratches on the top when opened at home. Also found that the size of the product on the packing list was wrong which made it confusing when trying to find a replacement. My husband and I went back and found the same sink and also a medicine cabinet. We could not take it home so the salesman placed both items on a cart to take to the receiving department. Our contractor went the next day to pick it up and return the other top. They could not locate the items we paid for and told our contractor that they were not available and could be ordered. I called to let them know that I saw the items pulled from the shelves the night before. This turned into a 2 hour ordeal for our contractor who waited while they tried to find our items. At one point they said they found the vanity top which turned out to be the same one we just returned. They did find another medicine cabinet so I finally told our contractor to just bring that back as we were told the vanity top was available at a different Menards. I was told the manager would call us. After she left I was called to let us know that the salesman had come in to work and our items had been found. The salesman called to apologize for not delivering the items to the correct department. The manager did not call us. I called back and spoke to the plumbing manager. I asked for some type of compensation for the aggravation along with wasted time trying to resolve this problem. I was told there was nothing they could do. My husband called the store manager and again received no satisfaction. He basically said since we were getting the items they could not compensate for any problems we encountered. He said it was company policy. I was not expecting a big refund but some kind of compensation, maybe a store credit/gift card or any type of good will to keep a customer. They just repeated that there is nothing they could do. I will never shop at Menards again and will tell my friends about our experience read more

I went to Menards three times and each time I went the employees were so helpful and knowledgeable about all the products. The employees that I met was Pam in plumbing, David in plumbing, and Gail. I have over 35 years experience as a professional journeyman carpenter. Beware of buying any building materials from Menards. Their doors are especially horrible. What they sell as pre finished trim is the thin paper finish that you used to see on cheap shelf boards. Mastercraft exterior doors do not have adjustable thresholds , which is almost an industry standard. Mastercraft doors are adjusting which means they have a compression under the threshold , they are not adjustable. Their pre finished oak doors which have an applied stop with miters at the top aren't even square cut at the bottom but are open. Menards is beating up competitors on price but they have lousy quality. They are the only retailer I know that does not allow reviews of their products or services. Folks , there is a reason for that. read more

This place is awful. They say special orders are 1 -2 weeks , mine was 3 +. No coordination, no real concern, just get em out the door. Weird product brands you've never heard of and week customer service. Terrible experience -- Lowe's and Home Depot much better. read more

Large, clean, organized! We were approached many times while we were browsing, asking if we needed help, which is a very refreshing change! They carried many of the same things I was going to get at Home Depot, and lots of other houseware and pet supplies. Two levels to explore. Although I go to the Brentwood Home Depot out of habit, I'll start shopping this place much more. read more

This is a crazy place to get hardware. They have a large inventory but it is a disaster to get things like lumber.

Has anyone ever bought carpet from here? I'm convinced they've never sold a single thing of carpet to anyone. Went in and tried to buy a carpet and no one knew how to ring it out or where to send us to go to purchase the carpet and get it delivered. Went to three different stations including the check out and not a single employee knew what to tell us to do even to just PAY for the carpet. We left because it was so ridiculous. read more

I am very disappointed with my situation so far with the Hanley store. I ordered a custom counter top for our bathroom. I ordered it on March 1st, 2017. The counter top is for a 24" vanity. The date for delivery to the store was April 1st, 2017. I found out the delivery date, when I went to the store on March 31st, 2017, to check on the status. I went back to the store today, and spoke to the assistant manager of the plumbing department. He told me it should have been here by now, and would be aggravated also, that it is not here yet. I made the mistake of taking out our old vanity, and sink, so we could donate it on March 31st, 2017. The assistant manager of plumbing contacted the GM of the store be phone. He told me that the GM said, there is no discount they could not give. I asked for the GM. He shows up, and is talking on his phone for over five minutes( I started to time it when I got aggravated) not addressing me. I am confident that he was dealing with other business, about the store. I understand that. The GM proceeds to tell me there is nothing he can do about our situation, until Monday, and talks with the company that made the counter top. He said he is not authorized to take money off an order???? He is the GM. I am 40 years old, and have never written a poor review of a company. I believe too many people complain about dumb stuff. Update; Not a word from the GM on Monday. Great customer service Menards. read more

Until today I would have giving Menard's 6 stars, but I had an experience today that truly rubbed me the wrong way. I entered an aisle looking for a few items and there was a caucasian male associate stocking the shelves. I literally stood so close to him that if we would have stretched out our arms we would have touched. I grabbed a duster and was feeling it out, and he glanced at me and said absolutely nothing! No, "Hello ma'am, is there anythng I can help you with?" Like nothing, but a caucasian couple entered the aisle and this douche bag asked them if he could help them with anything. I was dumb founded. He was blatant with his predjudic/racism, and I stood and thought about what had just transpired. And the longer I thought, the more angry I became. I was tempted to take everything out of the cart and go across the street to Home Depot and spend my money. But I had already been to 4 stores prior to, and was tired. I actually looked for him to tell him about himself and how pathetic he was but he was gone with the wind, and my hubby (on the phone) told me to leave it alone. I was an awful experience in a store I ranted and raved about, but it will be a minute before I step foot in another one to spend my hard earned money!!!!! read more

Holy shopping extravaganza!! I think you could buy anything your heart could imagine at this place, and believe me I did. I went in to buy a new lock for my front door because lowes was out of stock. Wow was i pleasantly surprised. This place is huge. It had an entire second floor full of stuff. When I finally found the lock section I was a little overwhelmed by all the options and which ones were best. Luckily they had a million associates to help unlike lowes. I was fortunate enough to have Jessie answer all my questions and he helped pick the right product for me. After that it was time to browse which is actually my favorite part of shopping. I looked at light fixtures, sinks, flooring, beds, cleaning supplies, rugs and pet supplies. While browsing around Jessie tracked me down and handed me a coupon for my lock... I was shocked that he went to so much trouble to get me a coupon. What a great guy. Anyways, so I also bought a dog bed which was super cheap, a door mat, a root beer, and a cookie. I was in their so long I even used the bathroom which was nice as well. Basically it all boils down to great price, huge selection, and a great staff. I will be back. read more

The 11% rebate is a gimmick and is only good for in store credit. The only thing they sell that beats Lowes or Home Depot is their doors anything else is better at Lowes or Home Depot and you don't have to mess with the rebate scam. Also if you buy something at Menards and need to return it get the cash because the in store credit is another gimmick. I spend $5-$600/week on building supplies and less than $20 of it at Menards. read more
