My first time stepping into a Menards ever, and i was impressed. They have a large parking lot for parking. You can find a little of everything in here. It's more than a hardware store. They sell food, furniture, and all of your home improvement needs. I love that they offer rebates but you have to ensure that you keep your receipts and submit them. I was able to find the dog food that I use for my fur baby, and for a decent price! I will definitely be back. read more

Great spot to get some Christmas decor! I wanted to get some small trees I saw in their catalogue for my front porch. Upon arrival, they were a bit bigger than I was envisioning, but there were lots of other options to choose from. I ended up getting two small pre-lit pine planters to put on both sides of my front door. They have timers and are a great accent for the holiday season. I enjoy going to Menards for a bit of grocery shopping, and I really appreciate that they carry Shasta soda products. Their grocery prices are pretty decent--not the place to stock up on all your regular groceries, but perfect for grabbing some unique snacks at a great price. If you have a diy project or household items this is your place. The parking lot is huge due to the stores massive size. The stops brightly lit with signs and fixtures. It's fairly clean, but a little dusty I've noticed. Employees are helpful and welcoming. There is an upstairs and downstairs which makes visits more stimulating and fun for our househeld chores. Menards is great! However, I just purchased a dehumidifier for $300+ and I opened it up, it was as if someone had used it and put it back in the box. It was scuffed and stained. The drain had debris in it and the drain hose was excluded. CHECK YOUR STUFF! read more

I'm so used to the Lowe's/HD duopoly here that I tend to forget about Menard's, which is a shame, since I've since found it to be the best and cheapest source for all sorts of things, including cheap fiberglass A/C filters, large globe light bulbs, electrical connectors, and more. Example: I want a basic (not wire-piercing) polarized plug. Neither HD nor Lowe's has what I want in stock. Their sites are frustrating to use, but I did find some plugs to order for store pickup, but then I remembered to check Menard's first. Not only does Menard's have the plugs I want in stock, but they are also much cheaper and available in a variety of models and colors! Some folks are dinging Menard's for service. I can't really speak to that, since I haven't used their customer service much, other than to ask for directions when I walk in the door, and they point me right to where I need to go, usually on the 2nd floor. One weird thing is that they offer 11% off rebate, and show that reflected in the price, but if you're just zipping in and out for a small purchase, the postage costs far more than the 11% amount, to say nothing of the hassle. So I typically actually don't end up getting the advertised 11% off. If they were really sincere about the 11% rebate I feel they should give it instantly at the register or via a customer loyalty program or via a website -- ideally some simple, easy way that doesn't require a postage stamp. So I'm dinging them 1 star for this. I pointed out to cashier that it doesn't make sense to spend far more on the stamp than the rebate. She said to collect multiple receipts and send them all at once. But you only get a few weeks to send for the rebate, so you have to collect enough receipts in that time to make it worth it. read more

I love Menards. This past week was my first time back in a while. I prefer this location to St. Ann or Ballwin. It's a bit more organized or cleaner or something. I also like the structure of the bi-level floors better. While there are enough employees spread throughout the store to help on the floor level, they could use more on the top floor. It seemed a bit harder to catch up with someone. I find myself having to ask a few employees on my way to the correct Isle because the store is big and you can get turned around going exactly where you need to go. The employees are always friendly and helpful or willing to find you help of they don't know the answer. I'm not sure if they still have it due to Covid but previously you could go on the computer in the kitchen design area and design a room to print out which is my kind of fun. The overall prices are reasonable and they offer good selections for storage, food pantry items some freezer items, lighting, and other home items. read more

After visiting many of my favorite nurseries, I ended up here at Menards and was shocked that they had some of the best offerings and definitely the lowest prices. My wife and I recently bought a house. As a result I've been running to a variety of hardware stores (Ace, Home Depot, and Lowes primarily) over the last six months. I recently added in Menards as the prices are generally lower. Little did I know that much of the "cheaper" price is turning in a mail in rebate for vouchers at Menards. This just annoyed me off. When you say the price is cheaper it should actually be cheaper, not cheaper after jumping through a bunch of hoops. Ugh. Menards has an expanded inventory compared to other stores, but there is a trade off in quality. Some products are about the same, but generally I've found the Menards products to be a tick lower than other stores. For some items (e.g. bulk rock) that likely doesn't matter. Overall though I was a bit let down. Despite my minor annoyances I would maybe have given Menards four stars. I had put in an order online for pickup. We have a one month old so my time for running errands is very limited. It was less convenient to get the pick up orders here than I've run into at Lowes and Home Depot. Rather than being at the front, the pick up location is at the very back of the store. Weird, but fine. Unfortunately when I got home one of the items (night lights) was the wrong item. I had ordered some LED ones and they were incandescent. I noticed only that evening when I opened the pack and went to put one in. They cost a total of $5, so it wasn't worth driving back later in the week and losing an hour round trip. When I logged a complaint online through customer service they informed me that they passed the complained to the local store but they couldn't help me. Customer service . . . couldn't help a customer. I saw a credit on my account, so I guess the local store addressed the issue, but they didn't actually email me or contact me in any way. So they "fixed" the issue, but that was terrible customer service. I won't be going back any time soon. read more

Comes off a bit as a Walmart-ish home store, but on a holiday or weekend (when the specialty stores are closed), it's a pretty good option. Some of the selection is cheap (i.e., tools, home items), but they do have a decent lumber section compared to Home Depot. Read: red cedar The layout is nice, it's spacious, and never seems too busy to me. As shown in my picture, they have a pretty decent Kreg Jig selection which can be hard to find at Lowes or Home Depot. Although a real wood worker will go to Rockler, but this isn't bad at all. It's worth a quick visit if you need something basic. read more

I love how much room there is in Menards, especially during Covid. I never feel like I'm constantly running into people like I do at WalMart. The grocery section could maybe be a little bigger but it's basically a home improvement store so they focus on just the basics, which is more convenient than Home Depot which doesn't sell food at all. read more

Tomorrow I am headed out to a bachelor party and I needed to stop at Menards for some affordable arts and craft supplies for the weekend. When I need affordability, convenience, and quality... I think Menards. The short story is, this is a wonderful store. Clean, organized, and well attended. I was easily able to find everything i needed and beyond. Why a five star review, you may ask. Although it was a pretty run of the mill trip, I was struck by the kindness of each employee and patron. I kid you not, I was walking around with my friend and people were showering us with compliments, offering help, talking about the weather. Just my kind of people. Actually, I love Menards. Still, three months have passed without them having a working electric cart for disabled customers. Letters to corporate produce a useless response thanking me for my interest. The Manchester store still has a working cart, but it is broken and creeps along so slowly that it is almost useless. To their credit, Menards employees have apologised to me as I have crept past. Apparently the corporate office doesn't care about the disabled. Home Depot and Lowe's have multiple carts and they are kept fully charged and in working order. Until this problem is rectified, I cannot shop at Menard's. If you are disabled, have a disabled friend or relative or just care about accessibility, please let Menard's corporate office know they have eliminated a customer population. read more

Worst customer service EVER. The main reason why I chose to go to Menards for our new oven is pretty simple. I loathe Home Depot, Lowes, etc. I can't ever seem to find an employee willing to help me without searching for one first. And they always seem to be bothered BECAUSE they have to help me, ie do their jobs. So I decided to give Menards a whirl. Bad idea, man. Once my wife and I picked out our new gas stove, we practically had to raise smoke signals to get some assistance. When we were finally acknowledged, the woman helping us could not seem more annoyed. We went to a computer to fill out our information like name, address, etc. Once we were finished, we'd head downstairs to set up delivery and installation. Turns out, the printer to this computer was broken so we had to go to another computer. Fine, whatever. So we filled out our info again, and much to our surprise, this printer was also broken. COOL. So now it's time for White Dude With an Attitude to come over and assist who's assisting us. So we gave our information AGAIN. Third time. In, like, 15 minutes. When he spelled my wife's last name wrong, dude snapped back with "I'LL FIX IT!" Damn, dude. Here, have a Snickers. Once that annoying stuff was over, it was time to go to the complete opposite end of the store to set up delivery and installation. We walked up to the counter and Other Dude With an Attitude could not be more bothered we were there. Literally rolled his eyes. AWESOME. He also had this winter coat with it zipped all the way to his nose and he kept talking into the collar. Like, wtf is that about? After filling out our information AGAIN, we're ready to set up the date of the delivery. Actual quote - "What room is the new appliance (stove) going into? Is it in the garage or inside the house?" Umm, why in Beyoncé would I put my stove in the garage?! Whatever. So we settled on delivery for the very next day, so that was cool. My wife inquires about installation and removal of the old stove, and Other Dude says, "We don't install gas ovens." WUT. So y'all knew this all along, that you don't install gas ovens, and no one thought to maybe throw that out there? Like, as part of protocol when a customer purchases a gas powered oven? That's ridiculous. And why wait until we are just about to pay to mention it? Just absolute garbage. Just to show how little I'll be going back to Menards, I purchased a Costco membership AND a new oven there immediately upon leaving Menards. My wife and I just bought a house and were pretty stoked about doing all of our home improvements via Menards. Nah, not anymore. I went to Costco and got amazing customer service and a great deal, all without "bothering" the person who's getting paid to provide customer service. I'm sure an $800 purchase isn't that much in the long run as far as Menards is concerned, but it could have potentially been thousands more. BOY BYE read more

Who can't love Menards really? It's like a big kids or home owners paradise! Went in for my very first time to get some top soil for some plants! We walked out with way more than top soil! Reason why?!? The amazing customer service we received!!! Hands down this was great service. We first stopped a guy pushing a cart who was working there. He told us he did not work in that department but quickly got on a phone and called for someone to help us. Within seconds two associates came to help us! They were all so friendly and knowledgeable about all the products! It was so nice to get there help! Let's talk about the items this place sells! You can get everything for your home like appliances, also hardwood, flooring, bath and kitchen stuff, top soil, plants, gardening, and so much more! You can also get food and groceries! They had milk and frozen foods! I was soooo shocked!!! They have an escalator when going up to the other floor that does not require you to use steps, you can just push your cart on, it locks and it goes up! Then on the way down it gives you instructions on how to get off! They also have 15% off bags you can get that make the entire sale 15% off! Ohh yeah!!!! Very impressed with Menard's on Hanley in Saint Louis, Missouri. Staff was extremely helpful. Especially the truck rental and door department. Above and beyond service. Especially JB who worked in the door department. I didn't expect that level of service or friendly help from that large a department store. I had only been to a Menard's once before. I purchased a gas power washer, a Brute, yesterday. When I tried to use it, water came out of every connection and little from the place it should. I tried to return it today. The manager told me that I would need to take off work and take it to a service center to be looked at to see if it can be repaired. I had to. Not them, but me. I run my own business and now will have to lose about the same amount of money I paid for it to go have this fixed. Beyond doing a chargeback on my credit card, I will never do business with them again. I also do not believe this review will even make it to the yelp board as Menards will have it scrubbed. While I was shopping, the workers were somewhat helpful (flooring department guy was great; paint department girl didn't seem to know much). I was just so put off by the lack of attention and sincerity of the cashier. She didn't once greet me or look up from her computer, and while said her rehearsed line as I was leaving, she had her back to me as she was talking! Huge store selling everything. 18 people asked us to help during our visit. However upon checking out there were only a few registers open. Every cashier seemed confused. Lines began to mount. We all know whats up with Menards, this particular one is larger than most and almost overwhelming. When first opened it was well staffed but in the last few months the staffing and helpfulness of the employees seems to have declined. Case in point I went in for a rug cleaner rental, the young person at the rental counter could not get the printer to print out a contact, (you can't rent anything without a paper contract), I gave up and on my way out stopped at the customer service desk and mentioned this to a manager on duty, she replied it was "an IT problem and not her problem", sorry lady, if you're a manager it is your problem. I ran into Menards simply because it was closer to 40 than Walmart and I had never been there. I needed one item for work. Lowes and Home Depot are a stones throw from this location and offer an immediate 10% military discount. Menards does not have a military discount program but offers a mail in rebate program causing customers to have to take extra steps to get a rebate check that is only good at Menards. Disappointing experience. Ordered some framing on-line. Got a message saying it was ready for pick-up. Pulled into the pick-up area, gave the guard my order number. She kind of directed me to the "barn" area. Pulled into a pickup spot and called the number. I was told I would have to go into the store and pull the product myself. Asked where to go. Kind of got some directions on where to go. Couldn't find the product. Asked someone for some help. They directed me to the other side of the store. I asked them who would be there to help me. "Somebody should be there" was the response. I walked to the front of the store and got a refund. Then the woman at the guard shack said I couldn't leave without a receipt. I told her to search my car for merchandise to see what was in it, nothing was In there. Menards did nothing to help me. They told me my order was ready for pickup, it wasn't. They told me I had to go to a specific area, that was wrong. They provided very little direction once I tried to find the product. Then, they tried to prevent me from leaving the pickup area. I tried ordering online. the website says things are in stock even when they are not I only learned about the item being out of stock when it did not show up as promised. There is no phone number for customer service to call to ask about estimated delivery. They require a written letter describing my issue and would not respond to emails. I eventually disputed the charge on my credit card since Menards never got back to me. BTW, the item is still listed on their site as in stock. read more

I generally don't go to Menards since I'm less familiar with their products but I will start shopping here more often since my recent visit was so positive. The store is very organized and I can appreciate the two-level layout with the escalator (for your cart too!) since it saves real estate.
