We have been shopping for a new range. We have run into depth issues in regards to our dishwasher door hitting any new oven we put in. Ordered one and had it delivered from Home Depot; didn't fit right . We got a full refund. Ordered one from menards, it also didn't fit correctly due to the dishwasher and they brought the wrong cord for the new oven anyway. I had them take it back and was told I needed to go into the store to get my refund. I went into the store and got the run around and was told I had to contact Menards.com, so I did. Below was an email I received from Menards.com telling me the store should've handled this. I did finally get my refund, but it was minus $162. I will never shop at Menards again. Lowe's and Home Depot have way better customer service and actually give you ALL of your money back on a return. read more

Menards over charged me $130 on my $500 order. They made me stand there for an hour while they fixed the ad price that wasn't stored in the computer. They made me take $30 of it back as a store credit because my $500 order was paid down with a $30 store credit. So basically I got overcharged and then forced to return. The rebate program is a bait and switch. First you think you're getting a good deal. Then at the register you realize you're not and that you have to go through the rebate process. Then when you finally get the rebate in the mail it is a post card that you take to the store for a STORE CREDIT. Total scam!!! read more

This is an excellent store with great selection. I like the environment, and everyone is friendly and helpful. The 11% rebate, available to everybody, is an especially nice bonus as well. Lowes and Home Depot only cater to active duty and retired military. For that reason, I'll actually drive further to Menards. Helping out active duty is fine but someone needs to explain to me why a 44-year-old retired military officer with a $70K/yr mostly tax-free pension (because most claim some degree of disability) and cheap health care working a low stress govt contractor job for $170K/year and set to collect SS at age 65 should get 10% rebate when other hard-working Americans with far, far less money get NOTHING. I always have a great experience at this Menards location. The store is well organized and clean. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. They always have a decent selection and items in stock. I like that there is a separate entrance/exit and checkout just for the garden center if you wish. Menards is my favorite home improvement store. The prices and service can't be beat. A lot of their deals are combined with mail in rebates, which I don't mind because there is always something else I need to come back and buy! For a box store, all I'm going to say is you get what you pay for. The one thing you would think they have going for them is that they have plenty of people who seem eager to help. The problem is, I don't think they know a screw from a nail. I went with a specific project in mind. I had actually picked out what I was going to buy when one helpful person talked me out of purchasing a package which contained items I would never use. (The reason for the extra star). I got a Skil circular saw, ALL saws require a wrench to change the blade, looked high and low, no wrench! Trip #1 to my local mom and pop store for help. I purchased a Black and Decker drill driver, I told another helpful person I'm building a set of shelves, I want everything in one trip to accomplish! Drill/driver does not come with bits! He picks out drill bits. I'm so tired I didn't notice. I'm now making trip #2 to mom and pop! You can bet my trip #2 to Menards, which is also a 10+ mile trip will also be my final! read more

Don't waste your time going to this Menards if you had children under the age of 16 or for medical reasons you cannot wear a mask they do not care. So far Home Depot and Lowe's as well as independent Hardware & Lumber Yards do not require you to wear a mask. I even explained that they where in violation of ADA the bully gaurd said he did not. What is the point of this? This is spring time and people just want to go to garden center. All 4 of us left because walking is too far. I've loved Menards since I first visited them up north in their home area in 2008 when I was driving truck. Now they've built a store less than a mile from my home and I love to visit their clean, friendly store. They have many unique items not found in other stores in the area. I do find their arrangement of the store curious, but it doesn't bother me. It's interesting to me that I can get dark chocolate M&M's cheaper at Menards than any grocery in the area, and they usually have them in stock. I've found many things to be a better value at Menards than even specialty stores. I liked their laminated flooring quality, value, and service MUCH better than a 'liquidator' place(I'll never go back there!). I got a better value on an electric panel and breakers than at a 'low' place or 'home' place. I always like Menards better than either of them. Always open when you need them. Great selection of quality brands. Great service from friendly staff. No hassle returns. Good prices consistently. What's not to love? Please don't let the fireworks next to the Cheerios bother you. I promise you, your Cheerios won't blow up in your mouth! Just enjoy the eclectic mix of products as you stroll through the store until you learn where things are. I'm guessing you're going to find some things you haven't seen in this area before too. If you're looking for something, the friendly staff will be happy to take you to it. I recently stopped in to The Dayton Ohio Menards. I know that I cannot walk down a isle to select a pressure treated 2x6x10. I have to pay for it first . I went to the front registers and gave a cashier the item number for what I wanted to purchase. He was lost for what I was asking him to do. He then flipped the switch to turn on the blinking light for his register. a woman can up and asked what was going on and I told her what I wanted to buy. she said I had to walk to the back corner of the store and get a ticket and then come and pay for it. I told her I had the item number I just needed to pay. I a snotty manner she said "no you have to go to the back and get a ticket." I explained that I am a disabled vet and walking the 100 yards to the back corner of the store possed a problem and she said well i guess you dont need the wood that bad then. to say the least you lost a customer yesterday. read more

Worst customer service ever , tried to talk to a manager on the phone and was left on hold for over 20 minutes and no one ever picked up . When I went in to the store and asked for a manager I waited another 15 minutes and no one ever showed up. I made an online order that said everything was in stock and would be ready for pick up . Low and behold they only had 2 of my 3 items and said the other one was on back order and that I would have to wait and come back when the 3rd item came in . I special ordered kitchen cabinets in early September. I received timely updates via email about the status of cabinets and finally a "RECEIVED IN FULL AT STORE" email October 2nd. Delivery was set up. The day of delivery, I received a call from someone saying one of the corner cabinets was back-ordered... the rest of the order was already out on the truck! These stupid fuckers actually sent an order that was USELESS without the most important cabinet! The nice lady who called said she'd look into it and "figure something out" and I never got a call back. The cabinets show up and the delivery guy is nice, explained he was the one who discovered this missing cabinet. NOT ONE OTHER PERSON in a motherfucking month notified me of the back order. That might have been helpful! I HAD NO NOTICE OF A PROBLEM WITH MY ORDER UNTIL IT WAS OUT ON THE FUCKING DELIVERY TRUCK!!!! So I figure out a work-around with in-stock cabinets and go to the store (I still wasn't angry at this point) and a man from the Kitchen Department was nice and walked me up to the returns counter to help fix my receipt. WELL they were nice enough not to charge me for the missing cabinet, but did CHARGE ME MONEY because my work-around involved one extra cabinet. Let me repeat: they fucked up, didn't fix it, I fix it, and they charged me money for it. The delivery charge was not refunded despite me coming in to fix their fuck up, although admittedly I did not ask. I did some more shopping, still under the false hope maybe someone at the store will realize I just payed them to fuck me. Nope. I'm never going back to Menards. They are the Time Warner Cable of home improvement stores. Please leave the Dayton area, Menards.
