We purchased a couch set which was a modular set. So not cheap, for my daughter. Well, I guess they thought because we were not there that they could do a switch on us. My daughter and her husband went in to look at it after we had gone home and approved the purchase before we bought they did notice the set sitting there had stains on it but did not think anything about it. As I was purchasing a new set. We we called and went ahead and purchased the set and was hounded to buy warranty. We decided against it. Then when they came to pick up the furniture it was wrapped very well in plastic. They again hounded my SIL to buy the warranty even threatening him that once he walks out there was not warranty which I was told differently there was still a warranty just not the extended. He took it home and guess what it was the stained furniture from the floor. So I wanted a new set but the insisted it was my Daughters fault it was stained. They fought and finally said they would send someone to clean it. They scheduled a day to come and do the work. Well she was driving and missed the call. Went to call back a few minutes later and the lady said she had no service scheduled for her and she would have to talk to the manager. Well when she talked to her she said oh yes you but the store model. And when we said we purchase a new model and she said she was looking at the wrong paperwork. I don't believe that but again we were just screwed as they kept denying it. Please save yourself a headache and go somewhere else. If you choose to go with them, then take pictures of everything you look at so you can compare later, make sure you document everything and make them unwrap it at the store if you are picking up your self. Everyone knows that when you first walk into any furniture store the sales person comes running. When I walked in I immediately told them I was just looking and if I needed anything I would let them know. For the most part it works. I walked around and looked at just about everything in the store and was asked several times if I needed anything. I waited until I was finished looking and they asked for help. Most furniture store employees follow and hound people like crazy. They all do it to some extent. I was able to find something that I thought I wanted, told them I wanted to go check around and then come back later if I didn't find anything else. I did come back later that day and ordered what I wanted. The price was a good value for the items I bought. People have to do your research and check prices before you buy anything, I bought several items at different times and saved myself lots of money. My Mom was looking for a new couch for the family room after years of use. She wanted to check out Furniture Fair after seeing their commercials on TV, I went with her to find the couch this past holiday weekend. We were greeted by Josh when we walked in, told him we were looking for a couch & the dimensions we were looking for as it needed to fit in specific size space. He showed us to a variety of couches at various price points. We narrowed down to 3 selections, one was a good buy, but on back order; another was above our price range but also came with an extra chair & 3rd wasn't really my Mom's style but she loved the color. Josh was caring, didn't rush us & then Mom decided on couch 3. We were pleased to know they will remove the existing couch for a fee, they do offer 5 year fabric protection for the couch & if you don't use it, can use as a credit towards a future furniture purchase. The manager Jeff was also friendly and helped Josh wrap up the sale. Delivery was also available right away. They also gave us a holiday themed folding chair for the purchase. The day before the delivery they called and emailed to confirm delivery. The removed the old couch at 9 & delivered the new couch at Noon. Mom loves the couch & fits perfectly in the space. My wife and I were shopping for new living room furniture and found a set we liked but we put off purchasing until Veterans Day for a better sale. We'll the set we wanted was on clearance for $2199.00. Awesome right. Went up to do the paperwork and got my cards out including my Veterans ID. And Sherry told me she didn't need my Veterans Card. I said not for the free Delivery. She said we don't offer any Veterans discounts. ( 2 weeks earlier she said Delivery was free for Veterans and Military.thats an extra $200. . Well my wife still wanted the set which the total was $3,800 and some change. I looked at what she had and she was charging my $2200. Plus $999 for the recliner. The card said $2199 for the set. Me and my family went to the miamisburg furniture fair location. We found a couch that we really liked, went ahead and paid for it and told them we will pick it up Saturday December 7th. They said that's no problem we're getting a shipment of them today. Friday December 6th I called them and they said that the sofa was there. I go to rent a U-Haul and pick up my couch Saturday when they open. I signed the paper at the front desk and they told me to drive around. When I got to the loading dock my sales associate Edye set it was not there. She said that there must have been a glitch in the system and that they can deliver it to me on Tuesday. I already paid for the U-Haul and I have no couch. So I'm out money for the U-Haul and me and my family sat on our living room floor until Tuesday when the couch arrived. Any other company would have offered a store credit or some sort of incentive. This is unacceptable and I will never come back. I will be sure to let friends and family know to stay clear because of my bad experience. read more

Today we had 2 medium size recliners delivered. At the time of purchase we asked if the backs came off the recliners and was told "yes". We'll, they didn't. The delivery men looked at the path they would be taking to the basement and said "we'll give it a try". These two men absolutely, with great care for my property did what we thought was impossible. They got the recliners in place and never scratched a thing and communicated very well with each other. it was worth the delivery price to pay for professionalism. Bought very expensive furniture from here and have had nothing but issues since 2 weeks of having it. They keep saying manufacture says this is normal wear on the furniture. Within 3 weeks of having this Michael Nicholas Design furniture the cushions look 3 years old. I can't imagine what it will look like in 3 years. I have to take covers off every other day and fluff the FEATHERS back up and flip the cushions. Store manager has sent repair man to my house that agrees this isn't the way my furniture should look already. Collapse cushions and stretched material. We are not huge people and looks like a elephant has dug a hole after we get up. And after fluffing back up it is very pretty but don't sit on it because will loose shape very fast. They have ordered a new cushion but only after I have gotten very upset. The repair man came to show me how to reshape the cushions and looked like a chicken has been plucked because all feathers flying. Then was told the manufacture would send a different lining to keep so many feathers from coming out. When you sit in the furniture get poked from feathers. Very very disappointed I have been going thru this since September 28 and no solution except they don't take defective furniture back and they got their money. 4/15/17. Just a update. Furniture Fair did their best to make me happy. But like the store manager told me. I will not be happy. And he is correct. They ordered one complete new cushion for the couch and it it worse than original. Middle of cushion no matter which way you flip it looks like a pile of blankets that had a cat fight in it. Corners will not smooth out at all. Huge creases in it. Just terrible looking. They ordered extra lining to put over feathers on the cushions and that has helped. Don't get poked by feather half as much. Other than that. Still junk furniture. Never again !!! read more

When they quoted my purchase from July 5th to arrive August 14th I thought yeah I can wait... then August 15th came and I never received a message of phone call so I called. They explained to me that I am at the top of the list and due to covid it is running late. That's fine ok alright... they then quoted me August 27th. I can make that work. August 28th still nothing. I decided to wait before calling just in case due to covid they ran into some factory problems. I heard nothing so September 15th I drove up there and asked for a manager and refund. They told me my couch will be delivered indefinitely by September 18th I said i will wait until then. Well it is now the 22nd and I have still not received it. So I went in today right when they opened and asked for the manager. The manager came up not wearing a mask and looked at me and said he'll be back. I said i would like a refund and he offered me to look around and find something else. I declined and said I can't wait any longer i would like my money back. Now I have to wait a week for it to be processed this store is seriously the slowest and untruthful store i have ever been in. read more

Dale (ask for the furniture cowboy) was extremely helpful, patient, and reasonable and stuck with us through all our indecision and going back and forth until we found a piece we LOVED. Went to buy living room set. They advertised 15-70% off after christmas sale. There was no 70% off in the store and we felt the prices were inflated. We couldn't find a couch and love set that was in our price range but did find a chair and decided to buy it. We waited while the clerk drew up the papers and she finally returned and said she was sorry but the chair was sold. I would not recommend them at all Amy Tierney the sales person was very nice and helpful but as we have found out it was nothing put a sales tactic she lied to our face they have our money and we don't have our furniture. She couldn't careless and then lied about when we would finally get it, I was able to get a hold of the store manager who was at least willing to look into this and let me know that the real date we can expect our furniture is December 11th when Amy told us originally 3-4 weeks max then beginning of November only after we keep calling to get an update and now the store manager said December 11th of 2020 so lets hope this is correct. If Amy would have been up front with us then we would have been able to make a decision if we wanted to wait over three months or not but she wanted the sale more then being a good person. read more

Sherry T. Was absolutely amazing. She made my mom and I feel at home and like a part of the family. She gave suggestions as to a sectional that I purchased and also picked it many samples of fabric for the ottoman for me to look at. She was so patient and walked through all of the different pricing options depending on how I wanted to build the sectional. She even offered a suggestion for a side table with plugs for electronics which I am very excited to have. She calls with updates about the furniture and also is available with any other questions. We purchased southern motion furniture fair from the Dayton store. After a while and during its warranty we had a few cushion issues. Daryl from the Dayton store is awesome. He sent Ed Lee the service repairman and he did an excellent job. Looks brand new like it was done at the factory. Ed is incredible and is an attention to detail person. WOW!!! What a great job and he even told me a few clean jokes. We also purchased two Smith brothers tilt back chairs recently and can't wait to get them delivered. Unfortumately I did not have a good experience at this Furniture Fair. First week in November I placed an order for a leather couch and two fabric recliners. I was told it would take around four months to come in and I understood the time frame. Several weeks after placing the order I received a call that the leather I chose for the couch could only be used on chairs. I was disappointed that the salesman did not know this when I first placed the order but I went back and Bobby the store manager worked with me. The only alternative he came up with was a leather couch that was double the price of the original. My impression of the manager was he could care less if I found something or if I cancelled my order. The next day I decided to switch the leather and put it on the chairs and use the original fabric I had chosen for the chairs and put it on the sofa. Two weeks later another call saying the fabric could not be used on the couch. REALLY! I could not believe that for a second time the salesman did not know his product. I called the manager and cancelled the order and do not plan on using Furniture Fair in the future. read more

my parents bought an expensive couch, and leather recliner from there. had issues right away with the arm of the couch. then the couch started to change in color, which was a deep merlot, to a bright red. took them forever to come and look at it. as stated by others, they called this wear and tear. come on!! my parents are 82 and 76. my mom weighs 100 lbs wet! the man came and painted some color over these bright red spots, and said that should take care of it for a couple years. flash foward 1 month, and its all worn off again. only adults sit on their furniture. they sell cheap furniture, at a overpriced mark up.. We purchased a sectional and a love seat here and spent quite a bit of money. When we received the sectional it was not the L-shape design we had expected and did not work well for our layout of our home. We thought we had clearly explained to the sales person what we were asking for and that we were on the same page when he submitted the order. You cannot return a "custom" order even if the sales person did not order what you asked for so it was very stressful situation. The paperwork you receive when you order is all in acronyms so to someone that does not sell furniture for a living it means nothing to you as a consumer in your ability understand if they made an error in ordering. A representative actually did drive all the way out to our home to try and rectify the situation which is above and beyond what most places would have done. The associate did say he will encourage his salesman to sketch out the layout before orders are placed going forward to make sure customers and sales reps are on the same page. He also agreed that acronyms are not consumer friendly, although I am not sure there is anything he is able to do about the ordering process/receipt that is given. When you spend your hard earned money on something that you do not want to replace for another 5 plus years you really want it to be correct. The sales manager that drove to our home attempted to rectify the situation and make things right. I would give 5 stars had the communication been better from the beginning, but they do care about customer satisfaction. read more

Sofa bought in August of this year, 3 days after I picked it up the stitching started coming apart. After arguing with the manager the couch was replaced. The new sofa was starting to show signs of the same. We hesitated in calling because the first call was a hassle. Now however, there is a hole in my sofa and the technician that came said it is pet damage. I have a child safe gate closing off my living room that does not allow my animals into that room. Manager told me I can pay to have that end of my sofa ordered so that I can replace it. The other end of the sofa is showing signs of doing the same. Basically, the manager told me that I am a liar and in his 20 years of selling furniture he is certain that it is pet damage. I have had the sofa 3 months. Unacceptable customer service!
