An employee asked if I needed help finding anything, which I appreciated. The prices are a little higher here than at HD/Lowes for equivalent things (the brackets I bought here were just under $5 vs $2 and change at the other places), but it's convenient and I like that it feels more personable. For the odd project and hardware need, I don't mind paying a bit more for convenience. But if I needed more than 3 sets of brackets, I would've taken the time to head across town to save the extra cash. Sadly their popcorn machine wasn't in use while I was there, though.

Cashier said let me do this for you it will be much faster. Ok went thru all the answers and questions got a email confirmation with a code he said check it and give it to me. Ok I did he said your all set check your email to finish the purchase. It was from Fortiva Credit card thought it seemed funny but figured it was Lowes special card. Cashier made the purchase had me put it into my google wallet so he could scan it to make the purchase.Well no 20% off asked where it was he said go talk to customer service. I did they were so confused they didn't know what to do. I said cancel the whole purchase and refund it back to the credit card. After all the BS. I brought both the original store receipt and the DoorDash receipt, and the original receipt clearly stated--in large print--that the items could be returned to any Ace Hardware location. The employees at the register, who looked like two teenage boys told me they didn't know how to process the return and simply said they couldn't help me. They made no apparent effort to ask a manager, look up the procedure, or find a solution. Instead, I was sent away without any assistance. I ultimately had to call Ace Hardware's corporate customer service and file a formal complaint to receive my refund. I understand that not every employee will know how to process every type of transaction, but good customer service means making an effort to help the customer or finding someone who can. Unfortunately, that didn't happen here. What should have been a simple return turned into a frustrating ordeal that wasted over an hour of my time.
