My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here last night after making reservations on OpenTable. We…read morewere warmly greeted by the host who acknowledged our event and seated us in the back overlooking the brew room, very nice. It was my first visit to your restaurant though my wife has been here before with friends. Chad was our server. He pleasantly explained the drink and dining menus and took good care of us all evening. My bride had her favorite drink, The French Martini, and you guys nailed it for her! I was very happy with the 2025 Pils. Dinner was amazing, Skirt steak for her, brisket for me with Yukon potatoes following salads for both of us. The quality and taste of the food was great and makes us want to come back and sample other dishes. We received great service and a nice complimentary glass of champagne (with Ho-Ho's) to finish our celebration. At the end of the evening we received a big surprise when Chad came over with news that we had no bill to pay as my wife's daughter and her husband had secretly called to pay the tab! So thoughtful of them to treat us and to top off a memorable meal and milestone in our lives.

Went to Hardware in North Aurora and came away with mixed feelings…read more The good: ambiance is great and the drinks were on point. Had the Marilyn saison and a solid dark beer. Bar program is strong. The short rib pot pie was a straight up winner. Rich, comforting, and not trying to be anything other than good food done right. The bone marrow lost me. Cooked well, but buried under too many microgreens and then oddly topped with tortilla chip strips. No smokiness either. It felt more confused than cohesive. Where it really started to miss was the overall approach. A lot of "the chef intends this..." type explanations. It ends up feeling like the food insists upon itself instead of just letting you enjoy it. That's the bigger issue. This place exists in a space where I don't think most people want to meet it. Not casual enough to relax, not refined enough to justify the performance. Bottom line: good drinks, great pot pie, but the experience tries a little too hard.

Disappointing Installation Experience - Incomplete Service, Poor Communication, and Lack of…read moreProfessionalism I recently ordered a washer, dryer, and refrigerator from Lowe's and paid for installation of all three. Unfortunately, this experience was frustrating from the start and only got worse as it went on. After placing my order, I realized I had accidentally submitted two orders and was charged twice for delivery. I called Lowe's right away to have it corrected, but the person who answered the phone said they were just filling in and that someone would call me back. No one ever did. On the day of delivery, I received a text saying the crew would arrive at 8:15 AM, so I got up early and emptied out my refrigerator in preparation. However, the team didn't arrive until 10:00 or 11:00 AM, with no update or courtesy call to inform me of the delay. When the installer arrived, he checked the space for the refrigerator but did not check the laundry area at all. I had to ask him directly to verify whether the stackable washer/dryer unit would fit, and only then did he look and say it wouldn't. He then informed me I had ordered an electric unit instead of gas--a common mistake--but he appeared visibly annoyed while explaining it. Because my setup couldn't accommodate electric, I refused delivery of the washer and dryer. As for the refrigerator, I had paid $50 for haul-away service and had already removed all the shelves and drawers to make the process easier. Despite that, the installer was irritated when I reminded him to take them, left fingerprints all over my front door, failed to remove the protective tape from the new refrigerator, and offered no guidance on reinstalling the shelving, leaving one shelf loose inside. Overall, the service felt rushed, disorganized, and unprofessional--from the double charge and lack of callback to the careless attitude of the installer. For the amount I paid, I expected far better treatment and attention to detail. I hope Lowe's seriously reviews how its installation services and customer support are being handled.

Ace's paint department alone is reason enough for me to repeatedly come back. I paint. A lot. I've…read morenever lived with the same colors for more than 3 years. To me that would be like wearing the exact same style every season. I used to go to paint stores or superstores to get my paint. I would have to stand in long lines, waiting my turn with contractors and painters. Then I discovered that I could purchase Benjamin Moore paint right here. I've never had to wait. I'm out the door in just a matter of minutes. No more trekking clear out to Rt 59 or waiting in line behind pros who are there to pick up their 20 gallons of paint. I've never even waited in line at all here. But paint aside, 1) They always have what I need, whether it's soil, plants, pots, parts, rakes or picture wire. 2) The store is very convenient to shop since it isn't a mega store. --I don't walk by isles and isles of lumber, carpet, bathtubs and bidets just to buy a screw driver. 3) Excellent customer service. I don't think I've ever been in there for more than a minute before someone asked me if I need help with anything. This Ace Hardware feels very "small town" in the sense that they still maintain a friendliness and act as though they know you personally. Something that just isn't seen often anymore.

I called them to verify they were there at the store when I went to pick them up only five boxes were there. I went home called them a couple days later when they said the other box would ship, they said those boxes were there. I went there to pick them up and those boxes were not there. I had to go back a third time to finally get the boxes when I got there, they had no idea where the packages were and It took an hour for them to find them. They only use one installer for the floor. I had booked the installer they use and had to reschedule the installer for another date. I booked an appointment and on the morning of the appointment the flooring company they contract with canceled. So you're telling me they only have two guys for all of Home Depot to do flooring installs? Plus they couldn't reschedule me for the same day. The entire experience is horrible. Home Depot may offer some deals here and there and products here and there, but their service and their follow-through and customer service is horrendous. The GS flooring company I would not recommend but that's the only flooring company Home Depot uses. So unfortunately now you're stuck they've got your money and you have no recourse at this point. Customer Service has gone down the hill. No one cares about their jobs anymore. They fleece the American public in general. The American people get screwed over by corporations. Then they respond apologizing yada yada yada put some link below for you to fill out a Webform and you can't even click on it to enter any information. It's all a bunch of BS.

Do NOT buy anything here…read more I'll start with appliances..Do not buy appliances here. Why? A few reasons: (1) Sales associates who are clueless. Went in to ask about dishwashers, and specifically reliability. The older gentleman went into full mansplaining mode--but told me nothing. Exact quote: "You see here [he points to the star ratings]: This one has five stars, this one only four. You also want to look at how many review there are." Dude...I can check online reviews. I expect a sales associate to have more of a clue. So, I tried asking another way: "Which brand seems to get the most complaints?" His reply: "I have no idea, but if you look at the star ratings...." and he proceded to repeat what he just said about star ratings. SMH. Anyone who knows anything, knows that the star ratings are mostly fake--either posted by company PR folks or, competitors. (2) Three years ago I made the mistake of buying a washer/dryer from this place. Installation guys must take "clueless" lessons from the sales guy. Long story short: They installed the dryer, which immediately gave error codes. They said it was because I needed to have my vents cleaned. Showed him a receipt that showed my dryer vents had been professionally cleaned less than three weeks prior. He doubled down: clean your dryer vents. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, I decided to have a DIFFERENT vent cleaning company come out. The guy checked the vents, re-cleaned and, as he pulled the tube that connects the dryer vent to the outside, he pulled out a piece of paper and said, "This is what's causing the error codes: the installation instructions for the new dryer. I took pictures, had the vent buy sign a statement that the vents were perfectly clean, except for the instruction manual the installers left behind. They could have burned my house down!!!!! At first Home Depot denied it, but I kept on them and, finally, management relented and agreed their installers made a mistake, so they reimbursed me for the installation fee and the second dryer vent cleaning. Do not buy....anything in the store. Went in today (when I asked about dishwashers) and picked up a few items for around-the-house repairs. FIVE staff members were STANDING AROUND WATCHING EACH OTHER at the self-checkouts. If five idiots can stand around and just watch, why not have them--I don't know--do actual WORK? They should be paying CUSTOMERS for doing THEIR job of checking out. SO...what did I do about the dishwasher? What I should have done in the first place: went to a reputable locally-owned appliance store where the sales associate actually KNEW a lot about EACH brand of machine--repair rates, what typically goes wrong first with each brand, longevity of each brand, which ones get sent in most for repairs. THEY GOT MY BUSINESS...and will always get it. I won't set foot into a Home Depot ever again.
