We just moved to the area a year and a half ago, and the reason I found out about this restaurant is because family was coming over to visit us in our new home and brought over two pizzas and a menu. Well, my husband and I have been hooked ever since. During the pandemic we tried to order from them once a week, and I have used them for catering now numerous times. The food and the pizza is so delicious. I just used them for a huge catering order yesterday and everyone could not stop talking about how delicious all the items were. The pizza here is really good and so are the calzones. But, if you're tired of cooking at home and want awesome family style takeout, this is it. They have the family special Monday -Thursday. For $38.95 you get a 1/2 tray of chicken that you pick from a list. Then, a 1/2 tray of pasta and a half tray of a side. You also get garlic knots. We chose the chicken parm, penne alla vodka and the ceasar salad for our side. Excellent! You can add a pizza for around $10.95, if you need to. We had leftovers for the next day. read more

I tried the Sicilian pizza and garlic knots. The pizza was fairly cheap and was good tasting. Nothing unique. Just good new York pizza.

After reading so many positive reviews on a local FB page we stopped in to have a bite. We ordered a pie, baked clams, meatballs and chicken soup. The pizza was good, baked clams were good but really small, meatballs are absolutely delicious and moist. The staff is very friendly and attentive.....the problem was the soup. I would have given it 4 stars except for the soup. It came out with no broth and what broth was there was gritty.....don't know how to explain it. Then I took a bite of the chicken and there was a lot and it had a horrible after taste and smell....it was starting to go bad. I should have said something while I was there but they were so nice I just couldn't. Everything else tastes great and service was great. I just know if I go back I won't order soup. read more

We love you Mema's. I upped my review to 5 stars now. Consistent, fresh, and delicious. We always order delivery. Mema's never disappoints. We ordered delivery and it came within the stated time and they got our order correct. We had one specialty pie: Sausage, garlic, broccoli rabe, fresh mozzarella. Flavorful, large slices of sausage (no skimping here), plenty of mozzarella cheese. Everyone enjoyed this pizza. One star knocked off because as my sister was eating a piece of this pizza, she bit down on a thin piece of METAL! Obviously a piece from a can or something fell onto the pie. Not good. Luckily there wasn't anything else in/on the other pies, salad or mozzarella sticks. Regular cheese pie: enjoyed the taste of the sauce, a good balance of sauce and cheese. Cooked to order perfectly (requested lightly baked). Meatball pie: tons of chopped meatballs topped this pie. Flavorful just like the regular cheese pie with an added bonus of tasty meatballs. Fried eggplant pizza: tons of fried eggplant pieces. They do not skimp on the toppings! Mozzarella sticks: I didn't get a chance to take a pic because everyone grabbed one as soon as we opened the container! Crispy, cheesy, not greasy, pretty much your standard mozzarella stick. Nice tomato dipping sauce on the side. Insalata campagna: I didn't get a pic. I forgot because was too busy eating! This salad was delicious. Field greens, Gorgonzola cheese but we substituted with feta cheese instead. Also plentiful amount of walnuts, cranberries, tomatoes. Light, fresh vinaigrette dressing. They have a really great selection. Not only do they have chicken bacon ranch, they also have chicken bacon honey mustard. Not only do they have a regular ziti slice, they only have a Mac & cheese slice. Also, the Mac and cheese itself it probably the best Mac & cheese I've ever had. So many pizzerias to try in Commack. On a whim tried Mema's and was pleasantly surprised. First of all when you walk in the staff is so pleasant and the smell of the pizzas coming out of the oven is like heaven. The pizza is just perfect with the right amount of sauce and cheese. We have catered from Mema's several times for both of our boy's High School graduation parties, birthday parties, intimate gatherings etc. We have always been so happy and loved everything from the food to the presentation and more importantly the service that Jono and his staff provide. Our Christmas Eve gathering was a great success especially because of the great food .My 3 year old Great-Grandsons loved the mac and cheese and meatballs.The went over big with the grownups too as well as the Chicken Mona Lisa ,Eggplant Parmesan and the rice balls and roasted potatoes and green bean! Eh idk- the girl at the counter was so rude And clearly didn't care to be at work last night so I didnt even bother asking questions i had. We were going to eat something while we waited but didn't get the chance to even say anything. Apparently they keep your card on file?? We went up to get a drink and she asked if it was the same card we said yes- and she just charged the card. Made us very uncomfortable. We waited for our pie- they all kept staring at us completely obvious to where we were ready to get a refund and leave. We got our food- as well as those spinach roll things SUPER OILY. I placed an order online for grilled chicken. When I picked up my order and came home, I was given fried chicken, not grilled. I called up to see if there was something that can be done because I can't eat fried chicken for health reasons and the people on the phone told me outright that I was wrong because I checked the box that said "chicken breast" and that means fried. Never once did they apologize or try to do anything to help me; all they kept saying was that it was my own fault, even though the receipt clearly says grilled chicken. Saw a local ad for Mena's went to check it out. Ordered the family style dinner wow!! Had chicken francais , penne with broccoli, sautéed broccoli. Came in large portions, food was delicious. Would highly recommend. A perfect meal for 4, hot and ready to serve. Definitely going back to try the pizza. read more

I love simplicity! The ease and little effort of ordering online pizzas for a packed pool party full of kids took the stress out of everything! Tried Memas for the 1st time because they advertised a family style chicken parm special which came with penne pasta and garlic knots. We also added an order of sautéed broccoli and OMG everything was so tasty, cooked perfectly and delicioso!! I had it for lunch the next day and it was just as tasty as the night before. Was in Smithtown for a bit a couple weekends ago and stopped by Mema's because my parents told me it was good. Upon entering, I really liked the style of this place. Definitely not a traditional pizzeria. Open floor plan, real wood covers one of the walls from floor to ceiling as well as the front of the counter, they have one of those coke machines with 100 different combos of soda products and they have beer on tap. I was greeted by two pleasant gentlemen behind the counter. I'd never been there before so I asked for recommendations. One of the countermen recommended the Cajun chicken slice. A lot of their special slices look LOADED with toppings. When I tell you this one had an inch of chicken, cheese and sauce on top, I am not exaggerating. So that's what I opted for. When I picked it up, to my surprise, no flop! The crust was perfectly crispy. No super well done so that it was rock hard and burnt but just well done enough to hold this massive amount of toppings. Let me tell you, it was delish. It was late afternoon and my first meal of the day so I opted for a grandma slice as well and a garlic knot. The counterman asked which kind of garlic know, regular or stuffed. I couldn't decide so he gave me one of each and only charged me for one so I could try it. The grandma slice was great too. The cheese tasted and had the consistency of fresh cheese and the sauce was well seasoned. I complimented them on it and they said they make a fresh batch of sauce every day. On top of the delicious pizza and friendly staff, the prices were cheap! Compared to another local pizzeria which I usually visit when I'm in the area, Mema's has significantly better prices. (I can't remember the exact price as this was a couple weeks ago) Turns out one of the men I was talking to was one of the owners, Edwin. Super nice, memorable guy. He came out from behind the counter and chatted with me for a bit while I ate my grandma slice and garlic knots. The story of Mema's is Edwin and John opened it together. John also opened Don Jono's and Buena Sera in Smithtown way back when. John and Edwin have known each other for years so that's cool. Also, they make gluten free pizza with cauliflower crust. We long islanders know our pizza and are very picky customers! I can honestly say that Mema's is the best pizza around. The crust is crunchy, the sauce has a sweetness to it, perfect amount of cheese. They are even pleasant when they answer the phone, and they deliver quick! Stopped in for a few slices yesterday and WOW, their pizza is terrific! I tried a slice each of regular, sicilian and grandma's. The specialty slices are large and they had so many different kinds. Very reasonable prices and a warm and informed staff. Hubby and I will for sure be back to sample more slices and perhaps eat inside. after campa pizza folded, mema's started and from that moment on, commack has been graced with excellent food, great service and great attitude. When they closed shop to fully renovate, we were a bit disappointed, but hoped the great experiences we were used to would not change but they did; it got BETTER! the dining room is now full service, with great smiling wait staff. it's brand new, with big tv's and great music playing but most of all, mema's (italian for grandmother) makes you feel just like home you will experience a wonderful meal and walk out glad you followed my advice. i've been a resident of commack for 42 years, and i know things food related. go there! read more
