Stopped in yesterday for a regular and a sicilian slice. Usually I never order slices individually for cost and freshness but my god, they were so good. The flavor of the regular is something I've never experienced in all my pizza eating years. With 10 pizza places within a square mile of one another, there definitely is competition. ordered a pizza, it was OK. but, it was extra salty. do they just dump salt on the pie and bake it in salt. there was so much salt no one finished a slice and we threw it out. what the heck. maybe they should change their name to salt and cheese? anyway, if you don't want to die of salt overdose don't eat here. sodium in moderation is best. read more

Growing up in NY and then moving down south over 20 years ago, the one thing I miss above anything else is being able to walk into a pizzeria and buy a "good" slice of pizza. Francesco's was everything I had hoped it would be when I walked through the front door. From the glass display of available pizza, to the homemade pastries. This placed definitely lived up to my expectations. I ordered 2 slices of cheese pizza and a chocolate covered cannoli to go. The pizza maker along with the young lady behind the counter were super friendly and quick to get my order in the over and then bagged up to go. The pizza had a thin crisp crust with a beautiful tomato sauce and just the right amount of cheese. The chocolate covered cannoli was a nice and crisp dough was filled with a sweet and creamy ricotta filling. I will 100% be back the next time I am in the Islip area. Two thumbs up. read more

Frank has got this takeout/curbside game down pat!!! Here's why... Francesco's has been in this location for years and years. It seems like a basic inconspicuous pizza joint from the outside. But if the outside matched the quality of the food, it would look like the Roman Colosseum!! The food is excellent. Perfect crisp to the crust. Balance tang and sweet to the sauce. The specialty slices are all delicious. I highly recommend the meat stuffed slice. All the salty, briney, smokey Italian meats with a cute touch of sesame seeds evened out with fresh cheese. All in one great slice! But the most impressive part of Frank's is his ingenuity during this COVID crisis. He has created great takeout options like 10 dinners for $55! Or a fun night in (since they are all nights in) with a family friendly Make Your Own Pizza Kit, which includes his fresh dough!! The guy making my food was sick. Sneezes in the corner makes a horrible attempt to wash his hands for 30 seconds if that. Dude stay home. Especially with all this corona virus stuff going around. I paid but so turned off I threw my pizza out. Not to mention having to go somewhere else to get pizza and I'm pregnant. It was unsanitary and unsafe for me and my baby. So the pizza slices that I had were pretty good and that's what matters the most. However, do not eat here. The guys in the front of the store just yell across you to the back of the shop and it's very loud and irritating. It looks like they have a storage issue as pizza boxes are just sitting on top of tables in the eating area. On top of that the selection of pizza was low. I've had pizza all over the island, mainly because it is by far my favorite go-to food for lunch and dinner on Friday night. I've tried many local pizzerias by my house and for the longest time was a loyal customer to Mulberry's, just got too expensive. Both locations knew me by name which is a great feeling when you walk into a location, but Francesco's takes it to another level. They know my whole family and always ask about them, especially my Dad. But, getting back to the pizza itself. Perfect thickness of cheese, tasty red sauce and a thin crunchy crust. That was just the Napolitano, amazing Grandma pies as well. For the high quality of their pizza, lowest price around and great customer service, this place deserves at least 6 Stars, but alas it was not a choice. read more

I truly gave this place many chances, Sorry, but your establishment just cant make a pizza... I went for the last time today.. I ordered a 1/2 Pepperoni pie.. they advised 20 minutes.. I arrived right on time, then proceeded to wait 20 more minutes.. and to add insult to injury when I got home the pie "TRULY" tasted horrible Zip-Nada Zero taste and the crust was like cardboard.. it was the worst Pizza I ever had in my lifetime.. The food is always freshly prepared and hot, the staff is friendly and can always recommend what's good on that day and the place is clean. Myself and the owner have become good friends in the 10 years and never have issues. Yes I may wait a bit longer than usual sometimes for my order but the wait is worth the time. Came to this pizza place with my parents on the road and me and my mother ordered a whole lunch order and my father cannot eat pizza so we order him a sandwich from next door. We all go to sit together and the owner storms up to us saying he can't have outside food in here. I explained that he simply cannot eat pizza, and we just wanted to eat together as a family bc we had bought lunch from them and he said absolutely not ESPECIALLY not from that deli bc were rivalries. They're strict with me and I'm strict with them. That's my rules. I said okay sir well from a customer standpoint when we're buying a whole lunch order and one person in our family can't have something from your store that's not really good customer service. There's a lot of pizzerias in this neighborhood. It seems they grow and fade with the spring and fall like seasonal plants. I make it a point to try each promising one I see -- and most of them are bad, and soon are gone. Francesco's, though, is pretty good, even for NYC pizza (hello Joe's of Bleecker St.). And for Long Island that makes it very good. So when I'm in Islip Terrace and need a pizza fix, I pick up from Franceso's knowing that their pie will satisfy. Five stars. read more
