Of course they do try to upsell you on their fancier eye exam services that are not covered by insurance. The exam was quick and I was able to get my prescription. It was my first time wearing glasses! I was planning on just heading out, but they are smart and pass you right off to a glasses sales person as soon as you exit the exam room. My sales person was Jose and he did an awesome job. Since I've never worn glasses before I had no idea what I was looking for. Based on my face shape he was able to suggest some great options and gave me honest feedback as I was trying them on. I was able to find a pair of glasses and sunglasses. Of course there is the second phase of the upsell for insurance, blue light, glare, etc. But, I went for all of the above, I'm prone to breaking things so the insurance seemed like a good idea. I recently went in for another pair of glasses and experienced wonderful service again. I had sat on my sunglasses and they were able to quickly bend the frame back into place for me while I shopped around. Overall this spot is convenient with friendly staff!

Most places require an eye exam within a year to get new glasses. On a whim I went to For Your Eyes Only as they said they repair. Went in - they said they will do the best they can but the lenses can't be moved or copied without an exam within a year. I knew that but was truly hoping to get help fixing them. Well after fussing with them for 10-15 min, the tech handed me the repaired glasses. Made my day. Better yet made my wife's week! Service was Fantastic. After Nakagawara left, I was paired up with Dr. Durham and then Dr. Ogden who is really good and thorough! She explains everything and waits around for questions like you're the only patient she has. If she finds something in your eye that doesn't sit well with her, she makes sure she's satisfied it's safe before she sends you on your way. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. The front desk, intake and even checkout, all seem happy to see you! Their communication vehicles include not just call in but also texting and email. The texting option works well even with scheduling an appointment. You really can't go wrong trying them out! If you're paired with someone that the personality doesn't fit, ask to see someone else next time. They really do a great job getting you comfortable. Highly recommended!

While going over charges at the end, I had a $145 contact fitting fee. I've been wearing contacts for years so no one helped me "fit" anything. After stating they should really be more transparent around pricing I was informed that I was supposed to be told upfront. I asked for one pair of contact lens samples to take with me to use during the two week wait time and was told no. $718 and 3 hours later (no exaggeration ) I was finally on my way out. I did ask if that time frame was typical and was told that it was normal now that they've switched to virtual. I now know after reading other reviews that it's actually not typical. I feel deceived on pricing and my time and patronage were not respected or appreciated. I'll be picking up my glasses (cheapest pair available) and contacts and will never visit again. I'll add that the virtual visit with the doctor and technician was fine and both were professional. Unfortunately this doesn't make up for the rest of the visit but it's at least one good caveat to this.

He has a perfectly reasonable, logical explanation for whatever ails you, and he does whatever he can to explain it to you. He also uses technology that - prior to visiting his office - I hadn't seen in other optometrists' offices, like the camera that takes a big, clear photo of the inside of your eye to check for any horrifying abnormalities and to compare the overall state of their health year after year. The rest of the staff was really helpful. An employee that was awesome helped me pick frames and I personally didn't feel any pressure to buy, just helpful suggestions about the shape and color of the frames. However, upon leaving, they handed me the old prescription and did not give me the accurate prescription. All was fine until I wanted to get a pair of prescription sunglasses from Costco. I gave them the script from Carolina Vision and waited a week. These sunglasses were for a vacation planned for the beginning of September to see Ireland. Well, when I tried the new sunglasses on , they were blurry. The optometrist at Costco tested my regular glasses and discovered the the script the I was given was the wrong script. so now i have to go on my vacation without the benefit of great sunglasses . I had an excellent appointment last week at My Eye Dr in the Village District area of Raleigh, NC…read more I have recently moved to the area and developed floaters in my left eye. The person on the phone was so wonderful in fitting me in quickly because floaters can become problematic. Once I entered the office I knew that I was in good hands. I was welcomed right away and made to feel very comfortable. The technician (I am sorry that I cannot recall his name, but he is a young man and I believe his name is Marut??) was very thorough and very patient with me. He listened to my comments about what has been going on with my eyes recently and is very skilled at taking pressures from a patient's eyes. It did not take long for Dr. Irina Feiner to come in and see me for my exam. She is so patient and kind and truly listens to her patients. She was very great about picking up on the fact that my family history means I should not be dilated for a test she was going to conduct on my one eye with floaters. I feel very confident with the diagnosis from Dr. Feiner and her course of action for me. At check-out Sharon was super kind and very personable. I look forward to my next visit at this My Eye Dr. locations.
