Great little ice cream spot in Phoenix. If you're in the area, definitely stop by. You can tell whoever makes the ice cream is also a BIG cereal lover because a lot of their flavors are cereal flavored (and include some cereal chunks!). I ordered the cookie wasted (oreo+choco chip cookies) and Cap n crunch berries. The cookie wasted was the better of the two but the cap n crunch really did taste like I was eating a bowl of cap n crunch. I am thinking that's because there were only two guys working on this Saturday afternoon and the waffles are cooked upon the spot.. she got the Nutella flavored ice cream and it was large and so yummy! I was a regularly customer for several years until they and sister-business Jobot were forced to move two streets over to "gentrification central" under Roosevelt Point from their original location on 5th street. In the past 2-3 years, I've seen a great decline in taste and quality of their ice cream and overall customer service. They have gutted many products and taken away several "classic" flavors from their arsenal. Melt was such a great find! My sister brought me here a while ago, it was a small cute place with some very interesting flavors. The ice cream comes in cute little takeout boxes, or you can choose a cone. There were plenty of unique flavors, many that you wouldn't typically see at any other ice cream place. Melt is super cute. Little old house in the Roosevelt neighborhood turned into a quaint ice cream shop. If you read the reviews you know that the ice cream is served in a Chinese Food to-go box with a fortune cookie topper. They have a sampler tray which gives you the chance to try 5 flavors ($7). Probably the best bargain they have. Melt has a lot of interesting flavor combinations. I highly recommend you ask for a sample first. Don't commit to an untasted flavor or you may find yourself throwing out the rest once the flavor profile sets in in your mouth. There's a lot right with Melt, but there's a lot wrong as well so I'm not sure how anyone could give it a 5 star review. The flavors I tried however were spot on, creamy, cold and yummy. Right: building has a cool vibe, lots and lots of interesting fruit flavors, sorbets, sherbets and sweet flavors like chocolate mint, chocolate, etc... plus Superfarm; Hazelnut Chocolate with Nutella. Good stuff. They give fairly good sized scoops, the staff is very nice, great patio for eating your ice cream as well as people watching, they offer the 5 scoop sample tray, and they're open noon to midnight. Wrong: Inside is too small, no inside seating, outside seating is not misted or cooled, street parking is horrible, they don't put a malted milk ball, melted chocolate or something into the bottom of the waffle cones to keep them from dripping, lines can be long and slow to move leaving you standing around in the Arizona heat (depending on the month). As I said above, the Ice cream is NOT made on-site, or home made, it's locally made by Superstition Farm. If you live in the east valley you can always just visit Udder Delights (which I like as well). I'm not knocking this, just pointing out a fact. We went here with our friends Jennifer and Eirik one night for dessert. The lady was really nice and let us sample most of all the favors that they had. It was really good ice cream. There are problems only ice cream can fix. Melt is located in a artsy and quirky part of downtown Phoenix, that is refered to as Roosevelt Row. The area is filled with art galleries, vintage shops, and book stores, it's worth a stop just to look around if you're in the area. As we walked into Melt we were greeted, asked if it was our first visit, and given as many samples as we wanted. Melt has a display case which is stocked with 18 flavors of ice cream, which are all made locally at  Superstition Farm in Mesa. Melt has all the standard flavors and lots of creative flavors, like fruity pebbles. The flavor selection at Melt is always rotating so there is always something new. On my first visit I had the super farm, chocolate, hazelnuts, with nutella swirled in. The ice cream was delicious and perfecy sweet. And the scoop.size is large. At Melt you can choose to have your ice cream served in Chinese takeout boxes and topped with a fortune cookie, between two cookies, or in a house-made waffle cone. The prices are reasonable, the customer service is great, and most importantly the ice cream is delicious. If your in the mood for really good ice cream give Melt a try you won't be dissapointed. read more

Melt, located on the Northwest corner of N 5th & E Garfield is in the middle of a super hipster artsy neighborhood. There is art by local artists hanging on the walls inside and more local artists' work spray painted on the outside of neighborhood buildings. No, I'm not suggesting that this is a grungy graffiti bombed neighborhood, it's definitely underground hipster. It is located inside an old house, and you're greeted out front by a bright retro neon sign. It is just too cute and very welcoming. There is an area to sit and enjoy your tasty treats outside the building, but I was grabbing mine to go on my way out of town. Melt sells a variety of clever flavors of locally produced ice cream, though the way it is displayed in the cases reminds one of gelato. Melt gives free tastes!!!! I decided to try the cucumber as it sounded like such a unique flavor. I could feel the texture of fresh cucumber on my tongue and the taste was lifht and fresh. I also tasted the fried ice cream flavor which had a nice war cinnamon flavor to it. I finally settle on ordering the super farm chocolate which tastes like a lot like Nutella and looks like a rose in a Chinese takeout box with a fortune cookie on top. Melt sells super delicious ice cream, but with ever purchase you also get a little taste of the indy arts district, free of charge. And who could possible put a price tag on that. Located near ASU downtown campus, Melt. is a perfect addition to the Arts' District. I mean, why didn't we have a local ice cream parlor in PHOENIX yet? The small shop is ran by a nice youthful and friendly couple and the ice cream is made with local ingredients. You can grab ice cream and take it next door to Lost Leaf and make a beer float, take it across the street to the bookstore and watch the open mic, or just sit on Melt.s incredible front patio. At first I was a little scared of their 7 dollar milkshake until I was reminded that it was made using local dairy products (and it was the most delicious shake I have ever put in my face). Melt. Woohoo for a locally grown ice cream shoppe! I haven't had some locally made ice cream since I lived in our small college town in Northern California. After doing some shopping in the vintage shops around Roosevelt Row and sweating like crazy, my friend and I stopped by Melt. We had quite a few samples of their sorbets and ice creams including chips and salsa (with Tapatio on top). The cucumber sorbet was seriously refreshing. But I ended up with a mini-scoop of Peanut Butter. My friend also tried their Mexican Hot Chocolate and did say it was too overly spicy. Mmmmm, mmmmm, mmmmm creamy! This was seriously dreamy. Their ice cream, cultivated by Superstition Farms is incredibly creamy, smooth, and perfectly sweet without being too over the top. All the flavors I tried were very natural and that's a definite plus. You've got to love their scoops come in Chinese take-out boxes topped with a fortune cookie. Better yet, if you don't like your fortune, they have a jar full of them you can switch yours out with. Ha! We spotted their junk food cookies in their case on the way out and were very curious. But we asked the girl working that day (who was a bit of an awkward person who didn't listen to us very well) what was in it, but she couldn't even tell us. Ummmmm, okay? The cookie was HUGE and looked like it may have been some sort of peanut butter oatmeal concoction with potato chips and pretzels piled on top of it. I wish I would have grabbed one up to check it out. Maybe next time! My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed sitting out on their large patio area. This quintessential Roosevelt stoner dream hut is a welcomed, unique addition to the surprisingly limited Phoenix ice cream scene. First things first: the ice cream here IS unusually soft; however, it doesn't actually melt faster, so it's okay if you're feeling a little... zoned out. With a variety of flavors paying homage to the munchies (our favorites being Cocoa Puffs, caramel popcorn, chocolate brownie, and mint chocolate cookie), be forewarned: shit is intense. Oh, and despite being visually off-putting, the un-waffled (crepe?) cone is top-notch. Plus, there's a wee 'shmallow stuck in the bottom. The folks inside cheerily slung samples, had helpful opinions, and even complimented the local competition. I stifled laughter as an elderly gentleman ordered "a couple Molly waters," and lost count of the "Fuck Trump" stickers while waiting in line. The vibe at Melt isn't for everyone (i.e. those voting for Trump, or those who just associate 4:20 with getting to leave the 9-5 early), but I doubt there's a soul out there that wouldn't benefit from some Molly water and sugar cereal ice cream on a hot summer/spring/fall/winter day/night. read more

The place was easy to find and we are lucky we parked at the street right in front of the shop. When got inside and the guy ask us if it was our first time and we said yes. He ask us if we wanted samples and so we tried the cucumber sorbet and superfarm. The only downside was when we purchased the cucumber sorbet the guy didn't give us a full scoop, he probably got distracted because he was talking on the phone and did not realize the scoop was not full.
