James and Caleb were AMAZING!…read more They both really took their time to understand our needs, how we use shoes, go through the measurements and set us up for success. I really appreciated how knowledgeable and supportive James was. You can tell he really loves helping customers find the perfect shoe and he really knows a lot about the brands and how each might fit the wearer. Given how much time we spent there and the stride testing and attention to detail I was assuming the prices of the shoes would be at a premium, but I honestly thought the value was very reasonable and nothing you wouldn't see at another quality shoe store. Overall, we were there for over an hour having left with a couple of pairs that were absolutely perfect for us. They even include a 14 day guarantee if we decide we liked another pair we tried on. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for the best shoes for YOU!

But when my mom wore a hole in her walking shoes (after 15 years!), I suggested we go to Alan's Shoe House. Her first saunter through left her unimpressed. Then, we were served. Mom had her heart set on a particular brand. The sales guy -- ever patient and kind -- recommended she try on a pair of Ecco's. So far, so good. But she has bunions from years of retail sales in high heels. (Ladies! I'm tellin' ya!). No problema. Alan's was flexible. Wear them around the house for a couple of days to test their comfort. If they're not a good fit, bring 'em back. Alan's can also stretch shoes in specific areas overnight and then ship them to you. Not necessary this time, the shoes fit perfectly Okay, I have to add this. Although I wasn't in the market for shoes that day, I spotted something on the way out that has made a huge difference in my daily life. The vented BackJoy seat -- which looks like it should be on a farm tractor -- is designed to cup your butt cheeks (once you "skootch" into the right position) -- and initiate the correct alignment of your spine. I am here to say that whether you're typing your latest Yelp review or logging hours at the computer the 40 bucks you spend on BackJoy will save your hundreds on chiropractic massage.
