I very much appreciate the staff and the wonderful selections of pizza. They will go all out to satisfy even the dietary requests such as gluten-free dough and vegetarian demands. They've supplied fantastic service for large groups (up to 80 people), and a big shout out to the group organizers and staffers (Karen, Dan and the rest). I met a friend here for dinner. The building is large and the hostess was friendly. We got there a little before 6 and had no wait time. The place was never full. It's on track for their brand in decorating and the place was clean. I didn't have to visit the flush rooms so I can't review those. Our server came and got our drink orders promptly and then took our order when we were ready. The wait time for the pizzas was a little longer than we thought it would be and we saw others getting their food more quickly. We had the great white and krazy karma and it was really good. We chose the classic crust and I liked that! It was a nice evening to catch up with a friend. They have a lot of options. But we still ate most of our mushroom extra sauce and extra cheese pizza. This place is just cool the atmosphere. I had been to Mellow Mushroom further south in Florida (maybe Fort Myers?) and loved it so I thought this would be more of the same. I was disappointed. The atmosphere not warm and welcoming like the other location. The pizza (when it finally arrived!) was nothing to rave about. Dry is the only way I can describe it. Really liked the bread dough of what I assume is a wheat/white flour mixture. Veggie Calzone; delicious with plenty of fresh veggies! Cheesy bread, did not like or recommend. In our 48 years together, pizza had a bold tomato flavor, heavy on spices like basil oregano especially garlic with beef stock sometimes in the plentiful sauce. We lived in CT, VA and MN plus worked in the 1970's 1980's in NYC. Your life experience determines your taste preferences. Mellow Mushroom was EXCELLENT in wait staff, decor, ambiance, cleanliness and Beautiful pastry like crust. Our deluxe meat eaters pizza ordered with extra sauce came with almost no sauce, and almost zero " sausage, beef,bacon, ham". The vegetables on it were EXCELLENT. But for our palate and life experience , the overall pizza had zero flavor, and was sadly very very bland. A large came to $28. read more

Spinach salad w apple and feta was spot on w the house vinaigrette. Manager came around and checked on things... I enjoy this unconventional pizza place. The dough, made from Appalachian Spring Mountain water, is pretty light in texture--crispy yet pleasantly chewy and just delicious in my opinion. What really sets them apart is the creative and more unique toppings they place on their 'zas. We love the Holy Shiitake for a very unconventional, and tasty departure from the norm, as well as the Great White pie. My daughter is a fan of the cheese pizza as well as the Great white sans the basil and tomatoes. The salads are also good as well. Ordering online is a breeze as is pickup. When salad arrived it was covered in onions. Waitress took salad away supposedly to make a new salad. Salad returned with no onions. However, pizza arrived covered in onions. The Food Is Great I loved this place before, and I still love this place. I have always been mellow. Mellow Mushroom isn't as far out as they could be, music upbeat, not Joan Baez, staff dressed normally, no headbands or beads. If you are not a child of the 60's like me, it's ok, this place is still for you. I had the same things I had when I wrote my last review, their Magic Mushroom soup and House Special pizza. The soup was again impressive, loved the flavor and consistency. As for the pizza, that was a lot of great pizza. I got the small size, a 10" soft crust pie cut into 4 large slices. Large and heavy, these were substantial slices, topped with so much stuff, so much cheese. I finished 3 and felt like I overate, bringing the last slice home. This was their small sized pizza. I should mention I saw online they offer lunch specials, typical slice and a drink stuff, one or two toppings. They also have other items like sandwiches and burgers. I'm never trying their burgers, the pizza is too good. It wasn't overly busy for lunch so I asked if they still get slammed and have parking issues. I learned sometimes yes in the evenings but not as much as when they first opened. That was good to know. If you have stopped considering them because of their popularity, you should reconsider. First time visiting and the food experience was superb. From the art and decorations to the service and menus, the place just gives off great vibes. We ordered the pretzel bites with beer cheese and the cloud 9 wings were floored by the flavor. Our goal was to try a couple pies and take some home so we each ordered something different. I ordered the Wild in Havana and my girlfriend ordered the Holy Shiitake. Both were so tremendously special that I'm still Thinking about them days later to write this review. I can't wait to visit again and try something new (probably gonna get the wild in Havana again, though, since there is nothing else like it) In fact: the wild in Havana is a pizza based off of a Cuban sandwich. It sounds odd, but I swear it is so good you wouldn't ever question the concept of what you're eating. It has real pork and pickles and a mustard swirl that was just too good. The dough of these pies is a star as well. It is cheesy and flavorful and stands out even cold from the fridge. I believe that is what is used in the pretzel bites which we loved. The holy shiitake pizza was also stupendous, big meaty pieces of mushrooms and a wonderful garlicky flavor make you wish there was more room in you to eat more. I do wish they were closer to where we live, but in my opinion it's worth the drive for us to get a pizza that makes you forget the other pizzas you love. read more
