Good sandwich I do like to order Italian sandwiches, and that's what I got when I stopped in today. Taking advice from my old review, I got it with double meat. Good advice, the extra meat added good protein volume. The sandwich was not very large, far from giant size, but at 10" it was ok. I did learn they offer two sandwich sizes, 6" and 10", so what I got was as big as the come. They bake their own bread and the bread was fine. At least for now they are only offering white bread. To say the place looks dated would be an understatement. I had intended to enjoy my sandwich at the place, they do have several tables, but after I walked in it looked so bad I changed my mind and got my sandwich to go.

I have been coming to this sandwich shop for the better part of 30 years. The new owners have done a spectacular job at keeping the same feel and amazing great taste to this gem of a sandwich shop. I had not been to A's in over five years and was so happy to see that it was still open. Upon ordering sandwiches and bringing them back to our condo, it brought me back in time to my childhood. Very happy that this sandwich shop is back to its original roots. Great Sandwich, friendly staff and fast service. Keep up the great work!

While on Vacation we stumbled on to the place, not far from Siesta Key. It was freakin awesome. I love the staff, very friendly and down to earth, the place was packed with locals in the area including a ton of work vans from the area. It is not a elaborate place to go eat, but if you want a good sandwich for a great price get down here. If you hate subway you will love this place, Fresh Baked bread and a special horseradish sauce. I had the italian, and they have a good assortment of fresh made sandwiches, we bagged it and took to the beach for a great lunch... A++++ if you like the local places... Have been driving past this sign for the past few months and knew I was going to stop in for a sandwich at some point. A's Giant Sandwich delivered and was exactly what I was hoping for. Simplicity, good ingredients and excellent execution is what you will find here. Got the Italian and Chicken Salad w/ Bacon on their in house baked bread and was extremely satisfied. Very happy I finally went in and will definitely be coming back. Thanks A's for the classic goodness. Also super nice staff!

A terrific " go-to" place for lunch. A's has been a favorite of mine, for years - here and at reasonably nearby Picolo's

Ok sandwiches, definitely better options around. Cleanliness is a big factor for me and it's lacking.

Once you see it, a large mural of an Italian pizza maker holding up NY with the Italian flag splashed in the background, you know you've arrived. We were greeted even before we reached the door and offered a choice of dining inside or outdoors. They have a large outdoor area that is shielded from the parking lot, nice, but we opted to sit inside for some a/c. Our server was right over and got us started with drinks while we looked over the menu. She was so nice, attentive, helpful, and upbeat for the entire time we were there, a real pleasure. As for the food, we decided to split their Greek Salad and a Prosciutto Arugula 12" pizza. They offer both 12 and 18" pies. This was not the pizza I would have selected, I'm more a Meat Lovers Supreme carnivore, but it was my wife's choice tonight. I thought the salad was pretty standard, lots of Feta cheese and a generous amount of dressing in a container. My wife left me all the red onion slivers, maybe not her best decision, and took almost all of the olives. The salad was still fine, lots of green. Our pizza was also brightly green, what with all the arugula on top. Like more salad. But underneath was an excellent pizza crust, like they describe on their menu with a bit of NY char. While I missed all the greasy meat, the prosciutto was very flavorful, a top of the line ingredient. A hint of truffle oil added to the mix and pieces of a hard Parmesan cheese (Parmigiano Reggiano) added more. I have to admit, it was a pretty good pizza.

If you're looking for a good start to your day, keep driving. The Food: I'm pretty sure my breakfast combo was cooked in oil that hasn't been changed since the turn of the century. The hashbrowns weren't crispy--they were just a heavy, grey sponge dripping with lukewarm grease and dark burnt. I ordered bacon, but what I got looked and tasted like carbonized wood chips, when I asked for crispy bacon, it was rubbery. The Eggs: Supposed to be cheese omelette with mushrooms, but they managed to be simultaneously rubbery on the edges and swimming in a puddle of mystery oil. Burnt toast, burnt English muffin. Everything felt heavy, oily, and completely un-editable. Save your stomach and your money. There are a million breakfast joints out there--don't risk it on this grease trap.
