How have I lived here for over a year and never knew about Mellow Mushroom?! A friend invited me to meet a few of our coworkers for Thursday Trivia night. I had to look this place up because you know... the name of this place sounds a lil sus, you feel me? LOL I am happy to report it wasn't that kind of place. It's a pizza joint and they have some gooood food!! They have a fully stocked bar, an outdoor patio and the indoor dining room is pretty big and roomy. Our group of 7 was seated at a high top tables near the bar. Everything we ordered was fresh and hot. It was delicious all around, no complaints of anything being undercooked or underseasoned. Our server was attentive and answered our questions. I asked for his recommendation since it was my first time there. I was glad he said I could do half and half on my pizza. I went with his suggestions, the Holy Shitake Pie & the Loaded Potato Pie. For a small, it was a great size, cut into 4 slices. I literally had one of each and doggy bagged the rest for my lunch the next day. A few of us indulged in their Lucky Buzz cocktail which was my kind of drink: fruity and not so heavy on the alchi! Although our team lost, it was fun to see people competing to win prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. What a fun place with yummy food! Dined last Sunday night with the wife. We ordered a 3 topping pizza and split a Caesar salad. It was my second time here and her first. The pizza was great albeit there weren't many toppings on there very skimpy. And the Caesar salad like dressing. We could barely taste the dressing on the salad. I don't like putting too much dressing on my salad, but there was literally none! Not sure who made this, but that person needs to be retrained on how to make a proper salad Not sure if we'll return to this location maybe try another location. $30.00 for a medium 14" pizza with 3 toppings, but they gotta do better with the toppings for the prices they're charging. From what I can see it looked like there was actually 1 1/2 meatballs on an entire pizza that's real bad. And the salami wasn't any better. We stopped here for lunch after church. Great spot for lunch! We also found a great Groupon that we used, we paid $25 for a $50 gift card. We had no problems using it! Went in on Sunday after church right as they opened. Great spot, plenty of parking and a cool vibe to the restaurant. The service was great we were greeted and sat right away and our server was attentive. The food was delicious. We opted to share the Elevated Cobb Salad and the Holy Shiitake Mushroom Pizza which we added shaved steak to it and holy shiitake it was delicious! The salad was great too but man the pizza was amazing. Didn't get a chance to take a picture as it was so good looking. The thin crust was perfectly cooked, the sauce and mushrooms were delicious and the steak added a great touch to it! Came here for the first time for trivia night with a group of coworkers and the inside of this place is very cool. Decorated so randomly but lit up and fun to look at. The pizza at this place is honestly delicious, I got a meat pizza to go and my husband can't wait to stop by in person for a more fresher experience. I also got the pretzel bites and tried an assortment of the other appetizers they have available. I will say the honey Sriracha wings are absolutely to die for! My team lost the trivia night because our runner took up a tag with no information so we came in second place, but it was still a really fun time. Our server was a really chill guy. It's a super relaxed spot and we were a big party, but he kept up with everyone and all of our orders. Came here to meet up with a group of friends. About 6 couples total. Usually that doesn't turn out well at any restaurant. People coming and going at different times, six different checks and we usually stay for 2-3 hours. It's pretty challenging for any server. We had a great experience with Robert. I really love the atmosphere at this Mellow Mushroom. There are lots of bright psychedelic colors, interesting paintings, great lighting fixtures, even a strange gold statue that looks like a giant Emmy award with bug eyes and a mustache. Love the neon imagination sign over the door, and the giant pizza owl over the window. Our server was really sweet, even though the service was a bit slow. It didn't bother us because we were chit-chatting. We ordered a Greek salad to share, as well as a thin crust pepperoni pizza to share. The Greek salad wasn't like a normal Greek salad. Even though olives were in the description on the menu, there were no kalamata olives. I was fine with it because I really hate olives, but if you were looking for them you would definitely miss them. The salad had lots of pepperoncinis, which isn't the norm for Greek salad. Instead of red onion, they used white onion. The salad was good, but it was not really a Greek salad. Thin crust pepperoni pizza was really good. I love their pepperoni - - it's a little spicier than most and so good. We also had pretzel knots. They are very good, covered with Parmesan cheese and served with a cheese dipping sauce. The order is really quite large and we ended up taking most of them home. This place is a nice, dependable place to grab a meal in a cool atmosphere. read more

The posted hours say open until 1:00am on Saturday nights. Not everyone has weekends off. I got off work and walked in at 12:00am, only to be told the kitchen was closed and only the bar was open--they wouldn't even sell me a pizza to go. Late-night food options are limited, and when a place advertises being open this late, you expect to be able to order food. Unfortunately, Mellow Mushroom isn't a place you can count on after midnight. read more

Gonna be honest. I loved this place living in Georgia and was excited they had locations in AZ. Been to this location 3 times. 1st and 2nd times have been okay, but third was my dad's birthday and I ordered my pizza (to take home, to be picked up by family member to bring home) and I cant eat onions. I'm allergic. So I specifically asked for no onions. I take a look at my personal pizza... covered in onions. That sucks and is a total waste of money. The pizzas here are really good! The crust was amazing. So crisp and buttery. And they had a lot of good flavors to choose from or you can make your own. The small size was a perfect portion for one person and the prices were decent. The atmosphere was cool. I liked the art and the classic rock music playing loud enough to hear but not so loud you can't talk to others at your table at a normal volume. The workers were all really nice and attentive. Mistake #1 After waiting 45 minutes with no update on our food (wings and a pizza) and seeing a steady stream of other patrons getting served, that were there long after us. I stood up raised my arms (kept quiet) shot the bar a look, like where is my food?? I got a look back like I had just killed someone's dog. Mistake #2 Another 15 minutes go by still no update from anyone.... and like magic our food finally arrived. No explanation, no I'm sorry... Pizza had been under the heat lamp so long that the grease from the pizza was starting to separate and pool up under the pizza, But by god... We got our wings. Reason for the delay??... New kitchen staff??... I know you had to drive to Safeway in Tucson to buy more frozen wings. Why was everyone else getting food but us??? mmmm... ....Was it that you forgot our order? The ambiance is great, no loud music. Service was great it did took a little too long to get drinks and food. I did notice there was only two waiters do that could be a contributing factor. The food was good the salad was my favorite and pizza thin crust is also delicious. Food was overpriced due to minimal ingredients on a small pizza. We ordered a small (10") pizza. The ingredients were in the center 5-6". So you get a lot of crust with nothing on it. For $18.89 or so it is not worth it! Ambiance was ok. Floors under the booths were filthy. Understaffed for a Friday night. Lots of room but long wait for food. Jake was a good server but had a lot of area to cover. Increase the staff, increase the ingredients, and clean the area after people leave. Best of luck. read more
