I am working in town and we came here for lunch. The server was very attentive when we first got there. The place was clean and the food took a little while to get to us. I ordered the mushroom soup which was really good. Then we had a pepperoni pizza and a cheese calzone. I found it odd that they didn't have all the beers they listed on the menu and it was really cold. Everyone was shivering but aside from that it was pretty much as expected. read more

Maybe we were expecting too much. Mellow Mushroom used to have a lot of character when it was located on Highway 93, Greenville Highway. It was cleverly decorated and had a nice casual feeling, especially when eating on the front porch. Now it's busy and impersonal. We used to like eating there and then walk over to a baseball game. Good food, terrible service. Been in a few times and always have to wait over an hour. Do not go if you have any sort of time limit. They also do not care if you complain, and will do nothing for you. Could be great, needs better management. read more

It's not a quick meal but the pizza is very good. They have a hybrid indoor/outdoor eating area. They have ipa/beer and some mixed drinks. Costa more than chain pizza places but it is good. read more

We met some friends at Mellow Mushroom one evening. It was our first visit at this location. It's only been open a short time so many people are trying it out. We had about a 20 minute wait. They need some chairs outside for the people waiting. It's kinda bad having to stand for 20 or 30 minuets. After we were seated we were waited on in a short time. We ordered pizza. They make them as you order so it took a while for the order to arrive. The noise level is not too bad for a large open building. The pizzas were good and we enjoyed our meal and first visit at this restaurant. read more

Went there once and they were relatively busy for a Friday night. Once they finally took our drink orders we had to wait 20 minutes to get drinks then place our food order. Once they took our order we waited almost 2 hours for our pizza. Our orders came out and of course they claimed they forgot our table and forgot about my specific order. Their saving grace was the fact they gave me my forgotten pizza on the house. The food was good however. They need better management, especially in a busy college town. read more

We had ordered curbside for two pizzas at 5:45 for a 7:15 pickup. When we arrived at 7:20 they had just put in the order to make the pizzas and told us the wait would be 30 mins before someone could bring them to the car, despite having ordered ahead. While we were waiting, 3 other cars had pulled up, gotten their food immediately, and left. This left us very frustrated and we eventually (at 7:45) got out of the car and went inside to find that our pizzas had just been sitting there. We arrived at 8pm on a Wed night, ordered drinks, then quickly after ordered 4 small pizzas. Approximately 35 min later, Justin our server came over to our table to ask if we had ordered our food. We politely answered that we had & were still waiting. 10 minutes later, he came back & apologized for the delay but told us that the kitchen was backed up. Meanwhile, the restaurant was clearing out. He came back again to apologize & asked us if he could offer us anything. I asked for another glass of wine & was told that the bar was closed. We were served, finally after waiting for an hour. However, one of our 2 daughters was not served her pizza. Our server apologized once again & told us that they mixed up her order & were making her a new pizza. The manager, Jordan came over & apologized but only offered a 25% discount. AMAZING pizza. While I had to wait an hour for the food to come, I know that was not the norm. Apparently they had a takeout order for 50 pizzas or something crazy like that happen. But honestly, I have never had anything to eat here that would deserve less than 5 stars. read more

This location of Mellow Mushroom seems to be getting worse by the visit. Last night continues to disappoint. Ordered two pies to go and was quoted 30-35 minutes but got there in a little over 25 and the pizza was out sitting on a table (not a warmer) already cool. When asked about it the server said it was out about 10 minutes and offered no resolution. Why would you quote 30-35 minutes and bake it when you want knowing the customer is expecting and arriving @ 30 minutes? Not only was the pizza cold but the topping were at least three inches from the edge on the Buffalo chicken medium pizza and the dough was overworked which made it "tough". The pizza looks amazing! I can't dairy or gluten- so I haven't been able to sample. The wings and salads never disappoint. Service is always friendly and management is attentive. In our past visits we have only had one problem and it was handled swiftly by the manage. read more

Worst experience. Ordered online, arrived at my pick up time, called the number, sat in my car for over 15 minutes, finally went into restaurant and retrieved my cold food. All this while three young ladies stood by, doing nothing. Very unapologetic. read more

Recent take out order not as ordered. They put green olives instead of green peppers on a large pie making it inedible. We live over a half an hour from the place so we had to throw it away. Thin pizza crust was soggy and had too much sauce on it. Salad portions appeared to have shrunk from last visit. Love the food and the atmosphere! However, the thing that made this review 3 starts instead of 5 was overhearing a female manager yell and cuss at the wait staff. I thought it was no way to treat their employees, especially during a tough time, and muddled my experience there. The tables were packed and I saw servers getting yelled at and trying to roll silverware while there were 4 hosts standing and playing on their phone. Pizza is fresh. Salads are uniquely tasty. Beautifully decorated for our town. The fruit popsicles are fabulous.

They have been great during the current situation. I was able to order on-line and pick up hot pizzas and free salad at my car.

Ordered take out today. Ordered 1 hour early and specified 11:45 pick up time. Had to wait 15 minutes for my pizza to cook after I arrived to pick up. Pizza and salads were good but the wait was concerning. Will take me a while to decide to return. I passed two pizza places to get to this one. This restaurant just re-opened in Clemson and it's not a good start to attract new and returning customers. read more

Really slow service. I ordered food online and it was supposed to be ready by a certain time. I showed up 15 minutes late and they told me it wasn't ready and that I could wait outside in 90+ degree heat to wait for my order. Thirty more minutes later it was finally ready. I used to love Mellow Mushroom when it was near the stadium. The reason I believe I did is because now you can see them prepare your food and some things are better left unknown. I ordered 2 pizzas and when I arrived decided to add wings. As I sat waiting I observed the following from the kitchen. No hairnets, 3 separate employees eating ingredients while prepping food. Worth noting they did have gloves on but really once your hands go in your mouth it negates the purpose. Watched them talking and laughing with food in their mouth over the food they were preparing. As I thought it couldn't get any more gross I watched a waitress walk by and wipe the snot from her nose with the palm of her hand like a toddler. I asked to speak to a manager only to be greeted by in fact one of the individuals eating while preparing food. As I was talking to him one of the cooks removed his ball cap and wiped the sweat from his brow with his glove and continued to prep food. Pointless to complain any further. Great pizza and atmosphere. I love their Caesar salads. Wait staff seems to turnover a bit but it's mostly staffed with college students so that's to be expected. I've been there when it really crowded & they handled the crowds well with very little lag in the kitchen. read more

I love mellow Mushroom, but ever since the new location has been opened every time I have ever called in an order they have always slightly got my order wrong. Missing toppings extra toppings. I eat a vegan diet and when I ask for no cheese I mean no cheese. 5 times they have put cheese on my hoagies. I miss the old location in Clemson. This new location feels modern cookie cutter and is completely missing that relaxing mellow vibe. It looks like the lobby to a hotel. read more

I guess the food is okay but the service was beyond awful. We went there for lunch with a group of nine people. The first thing that happened was that the server dumped an ENTIRE TRAY of water glasses on me - I was soaked. The manager came to help clean up the mess and announced that she wouldn't charge the group for soft drinks and would provide free dessert for everyone... ummmm... I'm not a dessert person. Yay! I got a free Diet Coke for being totatlly drenched. The service was so slow - our meal took TWO HOURS (the restaurant wasn't crowded at all - lots of open tables), and I got a bill for my meal even though I didn't order a "free" dessert. Another person at our table was told she didn't have to pay for her meal because it came out later than everyone else's (some other server took it for a different table). Lastly, the chairs in this place are SO uncomfortable. All-in-all this entire visit was a fail. read more
