We came to this location to celebrate my daughter's old roommate's graduation. We arrived around 11:24 and were one of the only tables. We had a large party so we needed additional seating and table space. The manager comes over with an attitude telling us that the tables needed to be moved due to whatever reason. He then proceeds to move the tables less a foot from where our party had them. From there, I knew we'd have a problem. The waitress had already taken everyone else's drink orders, so we gave our drink orders. 2 waters, simple enough right? Wrong. I'm not sure if this waitress is new or just really timid. Remember this, it's important. Anywho, it took the 10 of no more than 20 minutes to know what we wanted. She came back to take our orders. And we explained which orders would be separate. We had to order ours to-go. More guests started rolling in. Two appetizers of spinach dip were then ordered. They came out rather timely. We noticed that tables after us were eating and we weren't. Our waitress seemed overstimulated, scared, and overworked. My daughter and I had to leave to get back on the road. By this time more than 30 minutes had gone by. People that had came after we arrived, were now leaving with their to-go boxes of food. My daughter's friend parents had had enough and they asked for the manager. The manager was beyond loud and very aggressive when the parents began asking where the food was. By this time, we waited an hour. We only had one server I didn't get his name, that showed concern as he tried to provide us assistance. Our seemingly aloof waitress now had an attitude when my daughter told her that we no longer wanted the food as we could no longer wait because we had to travel. Food magically began to appear, coming out one by one. As we got up to leave, we noted that some of the food had to be sent back. We most definitely felt discriminated against and I hate that our children had to experience this but this is ... South Carolina. I'm not sure how things went when we left but hopefully they were apologized to and their bills adjusted. I will not be going back nor would I recommend anyone else to. read more

My kiddos and I stopped in for lunch before my son's tour of Clemson. We arrived shortly after they opened which is 11. We were seated promptly and our server greeted immediately. We had the pretzel bites and a medium pizza. Everything was great, just as any other Mellow we've been to! Plenty of seating and some outdoor seating. Attentive staff. Food was great! They offer a QR code to pay, which made our need for a quick exit easy. I did note another customer did not receive her salad as ordered and the staff were so kind, friendly, and made sure they made the mistake right. Steer clear! We have enjoyed meals here before on a number of occasions but will NEVER return. We had what was the absolutely worst waitress that we've ever encountered. She was rude, inattentive and seemed generally inconvenienced when we made any request at all. After over an hour of waiting, seeing tables around us receive their meals, we had yet to receive our appetizer and our beverage glasses were empty. I'd had enough and went to the front to ask for a manager. I told him that I was sorry that he had his job with such horrible staff, who was doing more harm than good to his establishment. He apologized and asked me if I'd pay for my beers at a discount, when I told him we were leaving. What?!?? I told him I would, and did. Great pizza! The Buffalo chicken was amazing and you can pick blue cheese or ranch on top. The pretzel bites are a fan favorite. More similar to breadstick bites. Cheese dip is so good with it. It was very busy but had great service. You can now pay with Apple Pay and a QR code on your receipt which made it really easy to pay. The server was nice and was refilling drinks at a rapid pace which was a surprise until the checks came. Refills they didn't say explicitly say cost money or ask if we wanted in the first place. We've been to a ton of Mellow Mushrooms (52 of them!) on our travels, and this was one of our favorites (OK, it doesn't hurt that I'm a Clemson grad and lifelong fan). Our server Luke was very attentive and had time to chat with us a little since it wasn't during the supper rush. The pizza and salad were terrific as always, and the atmosphere was unique (as are all the Mellows). Luke said he was moving to Greenville this summer, so we wish him the best. The waiters were kind, and I appreciate the free refills on our drinks! I ordered a custom small pizza with fresh mozzarella, pesto, tomatoes, and portobellos, and it was pretty good! However, I found the pizza super heavy and greasy, so I could only manage to eat about half of it. Being from around NYC though, I am biased when it comes to pizza. The crust was a lot thicker than I expected, and it was not cooked in a stone fire oven (which is what I typically prefer).
