This is definitely a good place if you want a traditional, good Viennese meal, but it is not the best in town, and is a real schlep to get to from the center of the city. The garden is nice, but not the most charming, and the wine selection is not particularly exciting. So is it worth going? Not unless you are in the neighborhood. If you are in the center of the city, I would instead recommend Gasthaus Pöschl (my favorite), Glacis Beisl, or even Rudi's Beisl a bit further a field, or on the higher end Vestibül or Zum Schwarzen Kameel. However, if you do go, you will have a tasty meal and won't be disappointed.
We had the bacon-wrapped goat cheese on a bed of salad to start with- a very tasty starter. Then for the mains I had a beef fillet in cream and mushroom sauce, very tasty though heavy. It came with fried knödel, they were nice though a bit stodgy.
My partner had pork schnitzel medallions, which were nicely breaded, with a potato salad in pumpkin seed oil which was tasty. read more
