I live very near the Meijer at 56th and Keystone, however, I tend to go out of my way to visit the McCordsville location - which is not particularly close. Why? Quite honestly, this Meijer is better stocked, more user friendly, and friendlier in customer service. There's a Noble Roman's in a small strip center where I can grab lunch. There's a Great Clips in that same strip center where I can get a haircut. Heck, there's also a Valvoline and a Crew Car Wash now in the parking lot. But, getting back to the Meijer, this is a chain that has always felt local for me and that's especially true here. It's not local. It is family owned and Meijer has a strong reputation for hiring folks with disabilities (and we know I'm passionate about this). Meijer has a grocery, an in-store Starbucks, an optical department, and a gas station. So, it's quite a bit better equipped than the Keystone Meijer. Meijer was founded in Greenville, Michigan in 1934 and it just feels less corporate to me than some of the other bigger retailers. They have the MPerks program that offers pretty good rewards. They do participate in Shipt, though they do not offer store pricing. Despite being considered a larger chain, I believe they have fewer than 300 locations. In terms of accessibility, Meijer does pretty well. They have automatic doors, an abundance of accessible parking, and I love that they have the smaller carts (which are easier to maneuver as a wheelchair user). Bathrooms are mostly accessible (though no adult changing tables). Overall, this is probably my favorite Meijer location in Central Indiana. It's out of the way, but I frequently find it worth the effort as it's better stocked, offers better service, and is generally a less stressful shopping experience. read more

Meijer bakery sold me a stale cake for Christmas. I was looking to purchase my annual birthday cake for baby Jesus which my grandkids look forward to each year. I wanted it to include red or green icing but they had nothing available and I was told they did not do same day decorating. They did agree to write Happy Birthday, Jesus on the otherwise plain white cake. These words were written in pale light blue! I had made no further mention of red or green because I figured I mentioned it a few times before. I paid about 23.00 for this and went home. It was so stale my guests didn't eat much and were not interested in taking home any leftovers which is customary. I felt cheated by the store and embarrassed at my family gathering. This cake was so dry that ice cream couldn't even help refresh it.​ read more

I've sadly reached my end with this store. Three days this week I've been in for two items-coffee and creamer (which I've purchased both here before). Only to have neither available. My complaint first thing this morning at Meijer I put in a pick up order I just put it in at 9:55am I go right back in at 9:58, because I wanted to add an item. You usually are able to edit and add to your order and this was just a few minutes later not a hour or later two hours later! the pick up time isn't until 2 PM. I am not able to edit or add anything else to my order and I just think that's ridiculous. read more

Very clean store and easy to navigate. Even using the pharmacy, it was easy. I was able to use it for a vaccination and I was in and out. They had plenty of people working unlike other places I normally go to for these services. It was nice to be able to get in and out. read more

I really love this store. I travel quite a ways to go to this specific location. I love that it feels safer at this location as far as crime and a lot more masks are being worn. The store is always clean, tidy and stocked pretty well on most items. My only complaint is be prepared to stand in a long line. They do however have a Starbucks inside! read more

The customer service is really good their food selection and produce section is awesome. Honestly I would recommend this to anyone that is down for a good deal and good product their sales ride Sunday to Saturday which I appreciate is that runs on a weekly basis not a random day basis. im pissed at the pickup/ delivery system. ive used it 4 times and no complaints. but now i'm mad. i put in a delivery order and my shopper was awesome. got everything i needed and subbed everything out. but then while she was on her way meijer canceled the order so she couldnt bring it to me. so i placed the order again but for pick up. my shopper was horrible. i used a bunch of coupons and saved $70. but they didn't get half the shit on my list which made my coupons void and unable to be used. so i ended up spending the same amount of money on half of the shit i needed. they "couldnt" substitute simple things like olive oil for a different brand or cherry coke for a different flavor. but COULD sub hair conditioner for a body wash. so pissed. NOT TO MENTION: we went into the store after getting our pickup order to get the things they missed; and they had 4/5 things that they had marked unavailable ! read more

I tried to call this store ahead of time. Three separate times, on hold, no answer. I walk in to find a worker sitting on the counter in customer service, but he never answered the phone. I bought vinyl blinds for my windows here. And found out that Menards had the same ones for $5.00 cheaper. So I tried to return the blinds that I just bought two days ago. And they informed me that they are not taking returns right now. And then tried to compare themselves to Kroger. And I said "Kroger is food. These are unopened the blinds." I asked how long until they will take returns? He says "we have no idea how long." WHY? I get why you would not want to take food returns right now. But unopened house goods? Our state has opened back up. It's time for Meijer to get it together. I've never liked the store anyway because they overprice everything, but my daughter kept telling me that they were different, and they had changed, and that I should try them again. UGH! We have been shopping at the McCordsville Meijer since they opened. I love the fact that it's just a few minutes from the house. They have a good variety of food and merchandise and the store has a good layout. Bonus points for having a STARBUCKS . ( it and a couple other departments close at 7;00). It's nice to be able to grab a beverage to sip on while you shop. A couple of downsides: the folks in the bakery need to learn to pay attention to others waiting in line instead of having s long casual (not business related) conversation. You lost a sale when this happened. You can take your own container in to refill water. However most of the time the machine isn't working. read more

This meijer is nice and clean inside but usually busy. It's got a gas station which is a plus. I pretty much only do pickup orders now but recently there have been many items "out of stock." But 9 times out of 10 I will go inside and find the exact item. It's a bit annoying and expected when someone shops for you but wish it wasn't a thing. read more

I just got my Medicare card this week. My first attempt to use the benefits was to buy contact lenses at Meijer Optical. The Optical Manager, Judy C. assisted me. Boy, did SHE go wayyyy above and beyond!!! She did Meijer proud! She had to get on the phone and use the dreaded phone prompts, was on hold with the provider (Humana), for 15 minutes or more. THEN, I ran out of time, had an outside appointment. She actually stayed with it after I left the store!!! She copied my card and prescription and was doggedly persistent in my absence, got the benefit applied and saved me $200 on the cost of the contact lenses! Whew! SHE IS AMAZING! All the while, she was super friendly, pleasant and helpful. THAT IS WHAT MAKES CUSTOMERS COME BACK TO MEIJER, PEOPLE LIKE JUDY!!! THANKS!!! read more

How is it possible that 4 lanes are open with lines at least 10 people deep in each one? It is this way consistently during higher traffic times. If 8 lanes were open and lines were this long I could understand. To be this consistently understaffed/incorrectly allocated is terrible. read more

We have recently been going to Meijer. They built a new one close to our house. I love how new & updated it is. This store is very well organIzed & things are easy to find. It's sort of reminds me of a modern Walmart but not as crazy. I love their clothing selection. They have a wide variety of clothes for women & it's all super cute. There's almost always something you can find on the clearance rack. I also enjoy looking at clothes for my daughter. They always have deals on the infant clothing. They even sell Carters brand and it's usually on sale. There's a brand called Falls Creek (not sure if it's a meijer brand or not) & those onesies are really cheap. As you can tell, I love the clearance racks because who doesn't love a great deal? If you aren't buying clearance, your shopping trip can get a bit pricey. I don't really do much grocery shopping here. I'll get some random things that I need if I'm already in the store because of the priceyness. The staff is very pleasant though. read more

I am a frequent visitor at this meijer. Almost weekly. First off, they sell fresh made pizza, sushi and other food items. I go here for lunch and dinner too sometimes and not just for grocery. Pizza has always tasted great and came in those giant slices like costco does. There's a starbucks and great clips shop inside as well. The fresh veggies and fruits they offer are really extensive and have a good variation. Sometimes I don't need to go to the asian store because once in a while they sell some of my asian produce. They have fresh jackfruit, chayote squash, bok choy, upo and bitter gourd to name a few. The place is clean and staff are friendly. I normally find good deals with clothes as well. It is a one stop shop specially for mom's like me who tend to buy clothes where we buy our groceries as well.lol. Hey it's efficient! read more

I was really impressed last weekend how they had multiple workers at the front handing out wipes for carts. It was decently stocked but I did hear a worker complaining that customers were being rude and she wasn't able to easily stock- which I can understand. They also had toilet paper! This Meijer has a very nice atmosphere and it's huge. I've had a very good experience with staff members throughout various parts of the store- from the Starbucks, to the Deli as well as the cashiers. Everyone always greets with a smile and a warm welcome. This Meijer is also open 24/7 which is convenient. If I need to do some work on my laptop, I can go to the Starbucks section and not have to worry about it closing. No one has ever disturbed me either. I've tried their freshly made sushi and it has never disappointed. I have also tried their pizza chicken, salads, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese and literally always came back every week for more. The only thing I wish this Meijer had was more of a variety of fruits like some other Meijers I've been to. Other than that, I highly recommend shopping at this Meijer! read more

Have always had a good experience with the store in general and with any employees i have interacted with since they have opened this location. Today i called because i was wondering about their store hours, because of lockdown and how hours were limited, but online it still said 24 hours. I was on hold for a few minutes(less than 10) which is understandable since there are so many people im sure that are calling with concerns about things or the items they buy. I talked to David in customer service and he was so nice and friendly, and was very helpful, and promptly answered my question about store hours. Nice, new store. Almost every time I visit, I'm greeted at the door by a friendly employee. I've called before as well and also had great, friendly service. It's nice to have a new store with reasonable prices near my home. I've done my weekly grocery shopping here, and with the mPerks card/app, you can really get good deals. I wish the beauty/health area was closer to the groceries since I frequently buy those items at the same time as my weekly groceries. read more

You may find since Covid they do run low on item, but every grocery store I've been to does. Today we stopped at Starbuck for a coffee and the woman working,stevie, just made our day. We had just found out that my mother in law had passed and the kids were not taking it well at all. As she was making my drink she was talking to my daughter trying to get her to smile. She asked if they would like some pretty whipped cream and their eyes lite up!! The simple kindness of this complete stranger! She unknowingly made out family's day so much better!! I will never for get that trip to Meijer that's for sure!! One of the nicest Myers I've been at would probably be my favorite except for 1 thing the electric cart say have Are the worst any store I have ever been to. They won't hold a charge today I had 3 of them the 1st one drop me in about the middle of the store as soon as I went in I had to walk up to get another 1 that when quit as I entered through the store doors , And the last one left means sporting goods section and I had to walk to the opposite corner of the store. This particular Meijer is our favorite of any locations we've ever been to. The shelves are always neatly stocked, there is always an employee somewhere ready and willing to answer any of your questions, and what I like most is that the store is exceptionally clean all the time. Here recently the lines have been very long. They don't enforce the 12 items or less than the express lanes so you end up with people with a month's worth of groceries trying to do it themselves to save time. the only thing that does is slow down the line because they've got a cart overflowing with items they're trying to scan themselves. Today at about 12:45 p.m. on a Sunday afternoon there were only eight registers open and all of them had lines in excess of six to eight people per line. The self-scan line went from the front of the store all the way back to the ice cream. I'm not sure if it's because they've got employees out sick due to covid or what the problem is with not opening more registers not busy times but so far that's the only problem I've ever seen with this Meijer. It certainly won't keep me from shopping there as we have found early mornings on Saturdays are the best time to go. I hope they keep up the reputation they have now because they're the best grocery store in the area! read more

This new Meijer is awesome. It is more like a Super Target than the regular Meijer store. I have not had any problem finding people to help me. I have had staff stop me in the aisle and asked if I needed help finding anything. My only complaint is the produce area always seems to be picked through when I have been there on all 5 of my visits. I was so happy when this meijer opened. I live only 2 blocks away and before was driving 15 minutes to the 96th street location. I am a huge fan of meijers produce and their mperks system. They usually have a greeter waiting when you walk in. I love the starbucks and different lunch options they offer up by the deli. The pizza is very good. This store was just what Mccordsville needed. My only complaint is there is no cell phone service in this store. It's hard if I need to call a family member to see what the secret ingredient for there recipe is. Or to call a friend on my way to hangout and see what items I should bring over. Other than that I love this meijer read more

I would EASILY give this location a five out of five star rating if only I could. You see... I am forced to use a mobility scooter and I'm in a situation where I cannot afford one of my own. Therefore, I am forced to use store owned equipment. Now I was very excited when this McCordsville Meijer location was first opened as it was a big, beautiful, clean, and well-stocked store that also had a sizable, brand new "fleet" of mobility scooters for customer's use. For some people (like ME) with disabilities... mobility scooters are not a luxury, they are a necessity! And when I saw that this Meijer store had plenty of them, I was very happy. Unfortunately after the first 6 to 8 months those scooters started dying on me before I was able to finish my shopping and this has gotten progressively worse and worse. As a matter of fact, on one of my latest shopping experiences it took four (yes, FOUR) mobility scooters (swapping them out as they died one by one) to get my shopping done. I find it so disheartening that the store management doesn't seem to care about shoppers in my type of situation because if they truly did, they would do something about the it. I have complained several times to the service desk, a "front end supervisor", and a "manager on duty" and have also spoken with some of the front door greeters and they have ALL acknowledged that this is a huge and ongoing problem and generates a great number of complaints. So at least I know it's not just me. By the way... those front door greeters have gone out of their way to help me anytime that I have needed anything. I just wish the store management cared as much as those greeters do. As an ex retail store general manager, I would be on the phone to either the person in Meijer's corporate offices who handles purchasing or leasing mobility scooter equipment or even directly to the provider of this equipment. I would be telling these people that in no uncertain terms, the scooters are a priority for the store and this situation MUST be resolved. I hope someone in a position who can intervene and assist with this issue reads this and takes action as it would be much appreciated and not just by me! read more

I absolutely love the staff in the meat dept! They're awesome!! Sounds weird saying that about the "meat dept" but you'll know what I mean once you shop there. There's always one, if not two, employees in the aisle stocking the meat & asking if I found what I need. If I couldn't find what I wanted, they would go to the back & personally weigh out exactly what I was needing. I love filet mignon but only can find it during the warmer months. BUT not anymore! Meijer carries it all year. (Yay me!) I just ask the meat dept & they'll go get however many filets I need (if it's not in the bin). I recently found out that they even sell filet mignon roasts, which are hard to find regardless of the season! They even brought out several roasts & let me pick out which roast I'd prefer. Which is awesome, considering I'm paying over $70 for a roast. Needless to say, I have nothing but great things to say about the staff in the Meijer meat dept! Now the checkout lines are a different story. That's a joke! They have checkout lanes for miles. But regardless of how busy it is, they only have 3-4 of the lanes open. Even with the lines so long that they're overflowing into the clothing aisles, I've never seen them open up another lane to help shorten the line/wait. NEVER! When you spend more time waiting in line to checkout than you did shopping, there's an issue. Needless to say, I stopped doing all my grocery shopping there. I try to get under 12 items (mostly meat, lol) so I can use the self checkout. And even then, the self checkout lines can be long too but they go a lot faster than regular checkout. I've talked to several people while waiting in line and they all said & feel the same as me. If they had more registers open, customers would buy more than 12 items at a time.
