The prices are items are your typical prices and love how if you have a target red card you get an additional 5% off your items when you use it. If you don't have a red card definitely join if you like to save money. Also they have target 360 that you can join. It has a lot of great perks and you get a free gift each month. They do have excellent eye-catching merch displays and still focused on upscale dressing and seemed like every section had a sales associate to help and areas were upkept. They are targeting heavily toward the older higher income demographics. It is especially telling when you listen to their choice of piano music in them. I would think a salesclerk would go a bit bonkers hearing taped renditions over and over of sickeningly sweet instrumental earworm inducing oldies all day long. I'm surprised this mall chain has lasted, as it hasn't really changed with the times. As times get ever more difficult with less to spend in this way, it will be interesting to see how this chain reacts.

I saw several other things I wanted, including Christmas outfits for my granddaughters. I left without buying, but later in the day decided my girls needed those outfits. I called the store and Deidreana found the outfits and put them on hold until I got back over there. The outfits were even on sale. Returns/exchanges are easy. They put gift receipts in each package. The store is always immaculate and has lovely restrooms. There is plenty of parking around the store, although parking fills during the holiday shopping season. Of course, the actual "mall" has been gone for more than a few years from this busy corner at 62nd and Keystone Avenue. It has been replaced by Glendale Town Center. While Glendale Town Center still exists, even it has been re-shaped with a vision of mixed usage involving the brand new Ayr Apartments and a relatively open concept retail design that is strangely compelling if not particularly attractive. Old Navy seems to have always struggled a bit on this side of town. The Glendale location closed. I think the Keystone location closed. However, this recently opened location is back in Glendale Town Center in the reconfigured space previously held by anchor Macy's that is now occupied by multiple smaller retail spots including Old Navy, Five Below, Ross Dress for Less, and fairly soon a Bath and Body Works. This location is an attractive spot that's within easy walking distance (Well, if you can walk. I can't, though I wheel pretty well) to the Ayr Apartments. I find it fascinating that multiple discount-type stores are located so close to apartments priced at $1,000+ monthly. But, so be it. This has multiple glass doors as an entryway. It feels like a fabulous and fresh Old Navy. I seem to recall Old Navy always feeling a bit drab, though this has more neon and lots of Old Navy-style clothing that seems to me to lean more casually. As you enter, the store is essentially an open concept. The concept for the cash registers is fairly weird as they have this sort of boundary and then the registers about 1/3 of the way in. The employees can easily see the doors, however, it just feels a little weird to me. I was initially excited as they had an automatic door entryway to the right for wheelchair users, however, I was dismayed that both the exterior and interior buttons weren't working. Here's hoping they change that in the near future. The interior is rather nice, I suppose. If I caught on to the design, it was essentially men's clothing to the left, women's to the right, and kids toward the back. The clothing ranges from extremely affordable to "You're asking how much for those jeans?" As a brand new store, I was a little dismayed by the lack of customer service. I realize discount stores seem to be a notch below when it comes to customer service, however, I was honestly stunned to enter the store, wander around the store, and leave the store and never be greeted by a single person. I kind of get it at the cash registers - they were, after all, serving customers (though "busy" is not a word I would use), though I saw at least 1-2 other people. Seriously, I mean Old Navy is right across the street from Target where, gasp, they actually greet you and talk to you. If you want to make a dent in their clothing business, you might want to act like you want customers. Overall, this is definitely a pleasing atmosphere with the exception of the non-functioning automatic door buttons. There's accessible parking, a nice curb cut (though there's still construction going on), and the store itself offers a pleasant shopping atmosphere with generally accessible aisles. However, if Old Navy wants to prosper in this corner they're going to have to improve the customer service, accessibility, and make people want to come back. I'm glad Old Navy is here and this corner is improving. However, here's hoping the best things are yet to come.

I was shopping for outfits for an upcoming vacation, so I spent some time browsing the women's and juniors' sections, dresses, clearance racks, shoes, and accessories. One thing I like about this store is that they carry a little bit of everything, from clothing and shoes to beauty products, handbags, and other accessories. The store isn't very large, but they manage to fit a lot inside. Sadly, I didn't find anything that caught my eye this time, so I ended up leaving empty handed. Even so, the service was good. I was greeted when I walked in, and the checkout line looked like it was moving quickly and wasn't very long. This location is in the strip next to Trader Joe's on the north side of Indianapolis and shares a parking lot with the surrounding businesses, making it easy to get in and out. While I didn't score any deals on this visit, I'd still stop by again because you never know what bargains you'll find. They rotate stock frequently.

You know it's true.), I like that Kohl's typically carries big n' tall sizes (though, let's face it. I'm far from tall. I'm more like "big n' awkward," but no one's thought to make that clothing line yet). This location is in the Union Chapel area just down a bit from Fashion Mall. This is an older location that also houses a Sephora. Both Kohl's and Sephora have a rewards program - both are honored here. This strip center includes a few places I enjoy including Maple (breakfast/brunch; formerly known as Le Peep), Smallcakes, McAlister's, Ulta, Game Preserve and others. I keep saying I'm going to Terra Gaucha, but I haven't made it there yet. Back to Kohl's. At today's visit, only the right side doors were open. It seemed they were pretty lightly staffed. The people here are typically pretty friendly, though you'll never get through without being asked about rewards and if you want Kohl's credit. I used to massively avoid Kohl's due to accessibility issues - it has improved quite a bit. The carts have also improved. If you're going from one end of the strip center to the other (Kohl's is on one end), then as a wheelchair user you will have to leave the sidewalk. This strip center seems to allow/encourage sidewalk obstacles; thus, I'm nearly always in the street unless I move my car. The clothing selection is solid, though price points wildly vary. However, the clearance section really can go into clearance. For example, today I bought two pairs of shorts and a t-shirt for $16 total. I was quite pleased with all three. I've never checked out dressing rooms, though these days I typically push my luck as transfers are a bit more difficult. This is a solid mid-range experience. I'd actually hoped to find a microwave today, though I really didn't see anything that grabbed me. In fact, other than clearance I seldom buy anything else here. But hey, if you're awkwardly shaped like me Kohl's is a place to try out. I typically don't see them go much over 2-3x, though I did see some 4x shirts.
