Biiiggg fan of The Shop and have been for years. They're usually a stop if I need Indiana merch to haul back with me to AZ- I love all of their designs (especially anything not in black/gold colors) and they offer more than your standard screen print on a cheap cotton Gildan tee (used to work in merchandise dev). For many years the colors, designs were not "official team" apparel which kept prices fairly low. Now that they've gotten into licensed team apparel, I've noticed some prices have gone up.. but it's the price of business. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ At any moment you'll see IU, Xurdue, Butler, Colts, Pacers and Indy 500 brands all over the store and online, with occasional touches into OSU, ISU (#LarryLegend), and retro brand fandom. The only less Hoosier Hopsitality thing about them is their staff - the guy working when I most recently stopped in did not appear approachable nor care to talk... but hello-- that is part of your job. Stopped here during a trip to Indianapolis for the Taylor Swift Eras Tour. We heard from someone they were carrying some TS merch and we decided to check it out and so glad we did. They had 2-3 shirts that were Taylor themed and a cute sticker. The prices were affordable and I paid $24 for a shirt and $3 for a sticker. I wish they had a larger selection of designs on different types of shirts. For example, the design I really wanted was only available on a very think cotton shirt and I would have preferred a lighter and softer material. read more

HUGE HUGE thank you to The Shop for partnering with Visit Indy during the quarantine and making $10 shirts with proceeds going directly to people in the service industry needing assistance. How incredible! Word on the street is that they had a lot of extra shirts and wanting to partner in helping the community. How wonderful! We ordered two of the $10 shirts mentioned above, and part of the promo was that you'd be sent the Visit Indy logo in a random color. It was a fun surprise to open the box and see what colors we were sent. My husband's is light green and mine is an army green (what I would've chosen anyways). We're reppin' them constantly during quarantine and they're super comfy. While in quarantine, you can order from their website and find items ranging from different college, local sports team, and local events themed memorabilia in the form of shirts, hats, glasses, etc. You can find something for any person in your life and I love the move to promote so much local. When not in quarantine, you can also head into their shop in Broad Ripple (also have one in Clay Terrace in Carmel) and shop away! read more

I love this shop so much. I've spent a lot of money here and they're currently my go-to for cute Purdue stuff! They also have quality Indiana stickers (love the torch one that's got hearts around it). And really cute nature parks stuff. I was turned onto this shop when they did a Riley fundraiser with hot box and it's one of the best things that has ever happened to me. There's much more to The Shop than you might think if you simply eyeball its simple yet appealing storefront on Broad Ripple's main drag. At first glance, The Shop is a t-shirt shop perfectly situated to take advantage of Broad Ripple's typically young adult crowd that's always looking for the next laid back, groovy look. That's pretty true. The Shop IS, in fact, a t-shirt shop. It features the kinds of t-shirts that will appeal to the usual Broad Ripple crowd - college wear, local sports teams (including Ed Carpenter Racing - I love that!), vintage Indiana wear, special collections, and a whole lot more. The Shop is actually a bit more, though. First off, the Shop has a sister store at Carmel's Clay Terrace. I've always sort of seen Clay Terrace as Carmel's version of Broad Ripple, so The Shop's presence here makes perfect sense. The Shop also offers custom printing at pretty affordable pricing. It's slightly higher than some of the mass producers, but you have to expect that when supporting local and supporting an owner with a couple locations rather than an actual "chain." You can get an estimate straight from their website - though basic pricing is noted up front. The Shop also offers "The Print Shop," essentially the ability to do your usual promotional/business type printing on a variety of products including headwear, drinkwear, stickers, etc. It's a pretty cool option - especially for local non-profits and given the extensive causewear offered here I have to believe they work with a lot of non-profits. While I'd visited The Shop before and really enjoyed the atmosphere and options (including usually terrific sales), I'm writing this review after experiencing The Shop during the COVID-19 pandemic that has significantly impacted businesses nationwide. I was impressed that right in the middle of the pandemic, they did a fundraiser to support local hospitality workers by offering a printed "Visit Indy" t-shirt for $10 that would raise money to support these workers. While some have expressed concerns with a delayed arrival of the t-shirts, I've been super impressed with their communication of the delay (I mean, c'mon...even Amazon isn't even close to honoring their 1-2 day delivery right now). Things are really hard for businesses right now and this company went out of their way to support local workers - they've communicated delays openly (by e-mail, social media, and their website) and actually got things shipped out in a time frame that rivals what Amazon is delivering right now. That's pretty darn good to me. The product is awesome. The Shop also continues to e-mail their sales options daily and they haven't lost their usual fun personality. In short, they're making the best of a difficult situation and still providing top notch products, terrific customer service, and fair prices. I love the shop! They have a few different locations but my go to is the broadripple location. It's a decent sized store that is always kept very clean. The walls have vintage team pennants and news articles for big moments in sports history as well. The shirts always have a good variety of seasonal, nostalgic, college plus major league options. Not only do they have shirts they also have magnets, coasters, stickers and cozies. The sale rack in the back is always something to browse as well because you can usually find something awesome for way cheap! I'd recommend following them on social media because that's how you find out when they are doing the 20 dollar grab bag specials, which I've done and it's great to get 4 surprise shirts for only 20 bucks. The shop is one of those places that is fun to browse and is affordable enough to pick up some items that catch your eye. If you like vintage items like t-shirts of places you visited when you were younger, or if you like the non-typical sports wear of local teams, both pro and college, The Shop is a good place to start. It also promotes the points of interest, parks, and festivals of he area too. I was surprised I had not reviewed the Shop yet because I definitely have been before. My confusion caused me to not take photos in store or of the store front, so you'll just need to go see for your self. I picked up several items and they seem to be of good quality. Although parking is always challenging in BR, I grabbed lunch at Union Jacks next door and then walked over the the Shop. When I first discovered the Shop, it has been years and they had less competition for this niche market, so I was wowed back then. Now, with so many online places, the selection isn't quite as unique. But if you like the actual shopping experience, I highly recommend stopping by. Service was helpful too. Note that they have two front doors and if one is locked, try the other if you know the store hours indicate they are supposed to be open. MY wife noticed and so we were able to enter and browse/purchase. If you want to get out and do a bit of shopping, it makes sense to give a place called "The Shop" a try. Love this Broad Ripple store! It is always fun to go inside to browse what new items they have put out and what has moved to the sales rack. Each time I come in, I always see really awesome designs that reflect the current happenings in Indianapolis--whether it be Indy 11 season, the Indy 500, or the Pacers nearly beating the Cavs. They also have unique apparel for IU, Purdue, Butler, Ball State, and other local alma maters. Likewise, I always find their items are pretty reasonably priced and super comfortable. Awesome store! I love their vintage-like shirts, they even have a soft feel like an old favorite shirt. I saw this store on local news station the other morning and had to check it out. I'm glad I did! The Shop has great shirts, some hoodies, jackets, a few other items, and even some kids sized shirts! During my visit they had a "happy hour" on shirts. 2 for $40! So, of course, I bought two shirts! I will definitely go back to The Shop to see what other great shirts they'll come up with! read more

Nice spot in Broad Ripple for some local swag. They have adult, kids, and infant styles. They tend to be more heavily stocked with IU and Purdue stuff but I've been able to get some neat Butler and vintage Indianapolis items. Prices are average. read more

This is really more of a Southern Indiana problem than an Indy problem, but as a Purdue graduate, it can be frustrating sometimes to see the overkill of IU and Notre Dame apparel with very little Purdue options. This is partly why I love The Shop so much - they do a great job of representing all our area schools equally. The clothing is that tricky combination of sooo soft and well-made (I bought a t-shirt here last year and wore it all through football/basketball season - it's still going strong.) It's easy to find clothing items for $30 or less, and they have great sales. The designs are unique but not too unique to not realize immediately what school or entity is represented. And because the designs go beyond just colleges, I almost always find more than one item I'd like to buy. The staff is always pretty chill - they're helpful but certainly don't pressure you into buying anything. (I can't say this for all boutique shops!) And, I like that the selection is frequently rotating, although this definitely makes me feel more pressured to buy something before it disappears! This part isn't really my business, so it doesn't affect my review, but I don't love the uber-generic name. It's hard to locate the business even on Yelp because of all the places that already have "Shop" in their name. But what do I know? They seem to be making a success of it one way or the other. read more

I am from Florida and my fiance and I were looking for a nice Indianapolis shirt. I am of native American desent and have a dark completion. The woman working was giving my nasty looks. When I asked her to use the restroom. She said that " our restrooms are for customers only" and continues to look very nasty to me. I would call that some sort of racially profiling. read more

I love Hayes & Taylor! The subject matter of the shirts are appealing, and the quality of the shirts put them near the top of my wish list. I love how soft they are. My first shirt from them was the "I f*cking love Indy", and I f*cking love that shirt!! I'd really love to see them come up with some more edgy content like that one. Something bad ass, non-politically correct, or down right offensive would be great. I also love all of the nostalgic, iconic shirts such as Bush Stadium, Deer Creek, etc. I just wore my Addison & Clark Street Chicago Baseball shirt to a Cubs game. I don't know if it was a one time thing, but I went there to pick up some shirts, and they were having an event with a radio station and handing out beer. It was a lot of fun! They strike me as just doing things they way they like, and I think that really works for them, so I hope they keep doing it. read more

Thanks for sending my tissue paper thin, defect in manufacturing, piece of crap, $25.00 t-shirt. Of course the return procedure is a HUGE headache. What a waste! If the defect was somewhere unseen, it would be one thing. However, it is right in the middle of the f-ing shirt. It was so noticeable, I saw it IMMEDIATELY upon opening the envelope and unfolding. Not sure who is in charge of quality control but they should be FIRED! I AM LIVID!!! Why would you send out something like this? Bad enough I had to wait weeks to get it in. The Shop is not only conveniently located on Broad Ripple Ave., but it's also one of the most clever and reasonably priced clothing stores in the Village. I really love that I can find one-of-a-kind t-shirts, hoodies, and sweatshirts for a good price.
