I have always loved this vintage shop, I will say as the years go by it seems as though the items are not as much vintage as they are "gently used" I mean I guess anyone can find beauty in anything... it's still nostalgic & I now go with my daughter! I always make a B-line for the pins because I collect them & they have a huge selection that are nicely priced. read more

This thrift store has been a part of the broad ripple village since I was a teenager so it's a definite staple of the area. I decided to come in with my sister and friend to explore the shop. It is packed full of some great vintage clothes, jewelry, and decor. I found a really cute vintage Jurassic Park crop top shirt I had to get for only $10! They had great customer service and cute dressing rooms to try on clothes. My only complaint is how crowded the shop can get and how some patrons don't have a sense of personal space. Everything is reasonably priced, cute, and eclectic. I'd love to come back on a less busy day to explore some more! read more

So heads up this is vintage overload but in a good way! Now everyone wants Vintage Vintage Vintage! But Broad Ripple Vintage has been a long staple in our community. I showed them some love recently when I needed to finish accessorizing my outfit for a local estate party and found the perfect vintage style sunnies and purse to pair with. I wanted to search the impressive denim racks but didn't have time this visit. Now that I have moved back to Indy I will find time to visit again and start improving my denim wardrobe. Whether you are going to a special event or just in the mood for a more vintage look, Broad Ripple Vintage will have what you are looking for sure. If they don't...you probably didn't look hard enough lol it's just that stocked! read more

Cool shop. Lots of cool stuff and well organized. Just didnt have what I was looking for.

First time in the store. As you walk in the door you find the men's clothes on the left-hand side and then the next couple aisles are all of the women's clothes. To the right is a glass case that holds belt buckles, patches, sunglasses, and many other small items. I found the people that work in there were very nice and helpful. As the shop is pretty small the items that I went in to look for were on a second tier of clothes that were toward the top of the ceiling and I am very short so it was difficult to see the items. They came over and got a couple down for me with a long pole. I did buy a dress in there But I thought that the price was pretty high for the type of store. The dress was $60. They did have cute and clean dressing rooms to try on the clothes. read more

There is a lot of greatness packed into this one small store. Lots of clothes and accessories all around, but with surprisingly great organization. They had great vintage Ts and jeans/shorts to choose from. Prices were reasonable and staff was real friendly. This is a really cool vintage store that carries just about everything you can think of thats retro. From the furry night stand lamps, to the old and faded 501 blue jeans. If this place were in the Haight and Ashbury, they would make a killing. The owners were helpful and very personable. I also liked that they only play music by The Door's in their store. read more

I have been here with friends multiple times. The staff is friendly and passionate about what they are doing. There is so much to look at with racks of clothes from floor to ceiling. This is definitely a place where you have to plan on taking time and really looking, but there are so many gems to find. There are unique clothing items, accessories, and decor that you really cannot find elsewhere. If you want to add some really fun pieces to wardrobe BRV is a place you have to go to. Downside is how tight it is to move around in spots, especially if others are shopping too. I also find parking can be a bit frustrating depending on the direction you come from and how busy the area is. There is a small lot in front of the store and one behind the building but it is on a one-way-road so if you happen to come from a certain way you need to go all the way around to get to either or try to find nearby street parking. read more

This place had an amazing collection of vintage Levi cut-off shorts for amazing prices! These are popular right now and can be hard to find IRL. I loved seeing them in person as the sizing can be very different from modern sizing. I found a pair that I am so excited to wear this summer. They also had an amazing collection of vintage band T-shirt's, tie-dye T-shirt's and sunglasses. I was just stuck on the shorts. :) read more

YES. I. LOVE. THIS. STORE. This was the very first thrift store I found when I moved to Indianapolis 8 years ago, and I couldn't have been happier with a thrift store. Tried and true, this place carries great items mainly from the 1960s to the1980s. There are loads of unique and fun finds here: clothing, decor, accessories, and more. I have purchased quite a few items from them since I moved here, and I have never once been displeased with the staff or item(s) I've purchased. It is a bit tight in certain areas of the store, but the items are worth the tight squeezes. As for parking, they have a lot in front of their building with a few spots and there's another lot behind their building. If you know the area and are a good driver, you'll be able to find a parking spot with ease as it's a pretty simple set up. Just be sure to watch for the "One Way" signs. (: read more

If I were 15 years younger, Broad Ripple Vintage would be the place where I'd buy most of my clothing. I'm a fan of old clothes, what can I say? But as a parent of two young children, I need to wear things that are easily washable, because it's not a matter of IF I will get someone's oatmeal on myself ... it's just a matter of WHEN. But this vintage store is a great place to browse and dream about what I would buy if I didn't have kids: polyester fringe, sequins, suede vests, hand-knit sweaters with kittens on them. I saw several muu muus that would have made Mrs. Roper from "Three's Company" proud. And, of course, Broad Ripple Vintage has that requisite old-man-and-moth-balls smell that a good vintage store must have. The display cases by the counters are packed to the gills with accessories like sunglasses, necklaces, patches, purses, and the like. There is so much stuff, it's almost overwhelming. read more

I love the hunt for nice things. I love hunting for Star Wars things, and the last time I was at BRV, I found them, those Star Wars things. I got a "Darth Vadar Lives" shirt, so old the Vadar instead of Vader spelling is still present. Stephenie gave me a discount for having good taste. These people are so nice & helpful. Every time I walk in here I think of this Lester Bangs quote: "Jim Morrison? The Doors? He a drunken buffoon posing as a poet. Give me the Guess Who. They have the courage to be drunken buffoons, which makes them poetic." Listening to the Doors doesn't bother me, I think it actually calms me down when I'm overwhelmed with things I want to buy and can't afford. I believe that BRV has fair pricing for the quality of items it carries. Take your time, and really search through this gem. They have something for everyone! read more

Very cool shop. Can be a little spendy but cool owners and an even better vibe. They always have excellent t-shirts!

This place is amazing! Seriously I picked up some really cute owl earrings here. The lady behind the desk is really nice, this couple had the husband trying on random sunglasses and the wife was laughing hysterically. I tried on some dresses but none of them fit unfortunately. I need to lose some weight before returning here hoping I can find something in my size. Hey, it's a weight loss goal so there is that. That's the only reason I give this place four stars instead of five. The atmosphere is wonderful and chill. I could spend hours there. read more

Broad Ripple Vintage is an adorable store with a great location. For a vintage store, the prices were very reasonable and there was an extensive selection of both men and womens' clothing and accessories available. The dressing rooms were open and decorated very nicely. There was also ample parking out front of the store, which I appreciated. I met the owner of the store, and she was very kind and definitely seemed passionate about her business. I'd recommend this store to anyone who enjoys finding unique, sustainable pieces at a modest price point. read more

This store is my jam, when I can find somethings but I have to admit for me it's just the rush of being here. I simply enjoy how the store is set up. I get lost in all of the awesome things for sale. The jewelry is always what draws me in. I have purchased more vintage pieces from here then I think any place else. I had to do an vintage thrift store outfit for work weeks ago and this was my go to. I had things that I knew no one else would have paired with some new retro items which won me the best dressed award. I can always count on the clerk's in the store to let me know the history of a piece. I like to know the life of my new treasures and they never disappoint EVER. I actually feel an excursion in my future. I haven't been in a while. read more

While wandering around Indianapolis I thought it would be cool to hit up the Broad Ripple area. Of course what better to do along with that than check out a local vintage shop. My theory has always been that the best way to experience a local area is to check out the thrift shops and vintage shops. So after grabbing a cup of bubble tea I made a quick hop over to Broad Ripple Vintage. At first sight, I found the neighborhood a bit questionable for my nicer looking rental car and the suit I was wearing. No matter, I give everything the benefit of the doubt. They had a neat façade with a few things on display outside to draw the eye. When you go in you'll find yourself practically overwhelmed by the amount of stuff. Clothes, buttons, belt buckles, jewelry. All of it fairly well gaudy no less. The colors are profound. This is by no means your grandma's antique shop. Think like 80's movie in terms of color clash in yo face. But I'll digress, while there are basically two cramped aisles of colorful choices, the vast majority of the stuff I see in here is for women or folks that are far more liberal than I in what they're willing to wear. Short of the belt buckles and a large selection of T-shirts it is unfortunately lacking in menswear. The shop keeper seemed very helpful and interested in chatting. Not sure if she was the owner or just an employee but nonetheless an eclectic type. After scanning over the buttons, patched and belt buckles I made my way out. It's a quick trip in here unless you're really diving into the clothes search. So perhaps for me it's a sign I'm getting older and my tastes have been beaten into changing by wearing dark polos and khakis in an office all day. But that said, this wasn't my kind of place for vintage wear and I have seen better. read more

Broad Ripple Vintage - What a glam jacket at a good price. - Used, Vintage & Consignment Near Me - Indianapolis, Indiana

Decent selection of vintage goodies mixed in among clothing that came from places like Target that simply have "Vintage" on the label like plain black tees that are well loved but still sell for $8 (isn't that what a Target tee goes for brand new??) Biggest issue: The kids behind the counter need to speak a bit softer if they're going to talk about adults that have tattoo sleeves (I do) that come into their shops looking at band tees (we were) that were from when they were kids and how sad it makes us (we're actually pretty happy people). We had planned on buying stickers and a cool shirt that had Roy Rogers riding out of an old fashioned radio but after listening to their conversation about people "like us" we decided to take our sad old people money somewhere else. read more

WARNING! NOT practicing good Covid-19 safety measures! I was really disappointed to visit one of my very favorite shops in Broad Ripple, one which I love to frequent, only to find that the shop keeper was NOT practicing appropriate use of a mask. She had it down under her chin and was acting like it was no big deal. This made me feel very uncomfortable and unsafe. I'm VERY sad to say that because of this, I won't be stepping back into there until we are through this pandemic. :( :( :( read more

First of all, if you're an avid fan of the Doors, this store is for you. You can see Jim Morrison's face almost every time you turn around and they play exclusively their music. It's incredible. The cashier (lovely woman) mentioned that the owners have had the place for about 20 years, and you can tell given their seasoned knowledge of vintage fashion. You can find almost any decade, along with eclectic jewelry to accent any style. However, the clothing stock can get a tad sparse at times. Some of the cool leather jackets and other nice garments get a little pricey, but if you're looking for the real deal it's worth biting the bullet. read more

This is a fantastic vintage shop! So many options, clothes from the ceiling to the floor and then some! Not to mention the accessories! I was having an 80's birthday and was looking for a madonna/cindy lauper type dress and boy did I find one! And the price was perfect. Love this spot! read more

I got the cutest pair of pink-and-black polka dotted retro glasses here. My coffee shop friends say they make me look like Downtown Julie Brown. Legendary style comes cheap at Broad Ripple Vintage. If you're looking for a costume, a cute t-shirt, a guayabera, odds and ends, knicks and knacks, this place is a goldmine. Guys, take note: This is not a bad stop for a first date, if the girl doesn't have Victoria Beckham taste. You might get her to put on a fashion show--and pick up some cheap threads in the process. P.S.--Bargaining is not out of the questioning here. read more

This little boutique nestled in the heart of Broad Ripple village is so quaint and adorable! Walking down the aisles was like strolling through every era from the 50s to now as many trends have cycled back around. Keep in mind, however, that it is a vintage shop, not thrift or consignment, so things are priced accordingly. There were so many items that I wished had gone home with me, but alas, I want financially prepared that day. But best believe that I will be on my next visit! read more

Love this shop, been going here for years. The staff is always so nice and helpful. If you're looking for tie dye they have a whole section. Tons of accessories, tons of sunglasses, jewelry. Fun atmosphere and interior, but very random selection. It didn't seem as much "vintage" as random leftover Halloween costumes and school play outfits. Rows of different colors of t-shirts that you can find in any Goodwill and many pieces that have multiple duplicates from someone following a cheap pattern with sale cotton fabric. Seemed very expensive and I didn't come across many truly "vintage" items, so I think the name is a bit misleading. read more

Vintage range includes retro tees, casual and formal dresses, select boudoir/burlesque corsets, and large men's section (inc. vests, jackets, shoes). Excellent assortment of jewelry and sunglasses. As well as pieces from other eras, the current retro trend for the 80s was well represented here. Yes, I grew up in the 80s and could find Molly Ringwald dresses, oxford shirts, bow-at-the-neck blouses, and undergarments that I still consider clubwear. God bless Madonna. Great assortment of casual sundresses/long skirts from boho beachlife and crushed cotton to small floral prints and sequin saris. Several denim overalls available for the comfy Come-on-Eileen look, too. Favorite find of the day: black Madonna-style fitted dress for my daughter (yes, I hoped it would fit me first), giant owl earrings for me, cute retro frog tee for other daughter. But don't tell her! It's for her birthday. For the brave girl who wants something different than the club tops at the mall, I recommend checking out the awesome corset-style tops. To-the-ceiling merchandise, but organized racks. I get anxious in tight quarters but was very comfortable shopping here. The Doors music and button collection kept my husband peacefully searching for gifts while my visiting-from-LA sister and I tried on treasures in the 2 roomy dressing rooms. read more

You can blame Jim Morrison for just about anything. The forever-popular long, droll voices of guy singers without shirts these days. Your parents' bad attitude. And, Jim Morrison found his way to be blamed for this review to get 4 stars and not 5. I've been here on a dozen occasions, over a decade, and The Doors are ALWAYS, ALWAYS playing. It's awful. Val Kilmer pops up in my dreams far too often, due to it. Besides that...I love this place. Typically in resale, vintage, thrift stores Men's clothing is quarantined to a small corner; here though, Men's clothing thrives. That's a rare find, really. The staff has a blast, and is helpful. I suggest having fun with them at the sunglasses & jewelry counter. Plenty of fitting rooms. Noooot toooooo overpriced, really. Because they have such a selection, I don't mind paying a few dollars more for what I would want. Shopping should be a good time, and here they make sure it is. read more

I came in here looking for a vintage cocktail dress for my cousin's wedding, and the owner was so helpful in directing me to pieces she thought would work. I found a stunning 50's cocktail dress for only $28, but alas, I would have needed ribs removed in order to fit into it. I also tried on another 50's dress, but the fit wasn't quite right. The owner was really attentive and asked how the pieces were working for me in the dressing room. When I said I was waffling on one of the dresses, she offered to put it on hold for me for up to two weeks. I walked out with a fantastic rhinestone cocktail ring. It was priced $12, but she discounted it to $9. The majority of the clothes are from the 70's and beyond, but older pieces are interspersed in. They also had a huge selection of ugly holiday sweaters! read more

What a find! My husband's in the business so we often stop at vintage stores looking for unique items. BRV is mostly vintage clothing and accessories. It's a small shop but they use every inch available to display their wares. We each (including my son) came away with an item and also a very fun visit with the owner. (who should have her own TV series about vintage wares--seriously so sweet!) There were dresses, T shirts, shoes, sunglasses, jackets, buttons, jewelry--all in great condition. I left with some 60 era sunglasses, my husband with a groovy shirt and my son with the cutest ocean pacific outfit from the 80's. Everything at a reasonable price. Sweet shop. read more
