What a lovely little place! And I'm not just saying that because there are two resident cats who are the sweetest. Well... Anyhow, I loved the crafting of the owner who is also a delight and gave me recommendations for things to do in the neighborhood! Her journals and paper flowers are wonderful!

I do a lot of running around Indianapolis and much to my surprise I was watching Tik-Tok and saw this shop owner. I have been in this neighborhood numerous times and never saw this shop but after seeing the video I decided to go take a look! This is an adorable little shop and it has a shop cat! The cat's name is Scrapper. Talking with the owner she had some struggles during construction outside of the shop near Garfield Park and also during covid. She almost closed but she loves the shop so much she did not and we are the better for it. Plenty of vintage books in here with a lean toward women authors and Indiana history. She also has journals that she makes that have fabulous covers and in several different sizes. She also has some ephemera packages and I took a couple of those home as I do junk journaling. I will definitely stop back by here to support her small business and I suggest you stop by and take a look! If nothing else you can pet the cat he is very friendly.

While exploring the Garfield Park area, I used Yelp to help find this cool and unique boutique filled with old books and re-purposed items turned into note/sketch pads. Located just across the street from the Garfield Park entrance on Shelby, I was able to street park right in front of the store. The woman who owns/runs the shop was setting out her daily pink balloons to help customers find the shop. Inside, the space is very small and has this nostalgic/vintage feeling to it. There are lots of books that are over 100 years old and quite a few with Indiana ties. But what really caught my attention was the supply of crafted notepads. There were some spiral ringed pads that had old book covers. Others that were larger may be used as sketch pads with old album covers trimmed to fit the pages. Mini sized notepads were also available. Some are lined, while others are just blank sheets. Each had an elastic strap affixed to keep the pad closed. I found one of the mid-sized ones with a hard cover showing some vintage fashion. I have a pre-teen granddaughter that loves to design clothes and sew as well as draw/paint. I thought a fashion covered pad would be a unique gift for Christmas. Not too expensive, so it could be a stocking stuffer (although it might be just a bit too wide.) The owner was very welcoming and personable and let me browse without making me feel watched over. But as soon as I was ready, she stopped her other duties and made sure I didn't have to wait. Now, I will have to check in from time to time to see if I can find something for my other granddaughter. The place is small and though they had a nice representation of each sized item, space limits them to being able to have something for everyone. So, you just have to know what your tastes are and keep an open mind. I found the place to be quite unique and an enjoyable place to browse. Review #3306

I showed up today after a very long drive already in a mediocre mood. I went up to the front desk to ask about a Facebook Marketplace agreement I had made for a sofa set and the price, only to find out there had been some miscommunication. At first I honestly thought I might have been scammed, which instantly put me in a terrible mood. I definitely huffed around and complained about how far I had driven while trying to sort it out. Long story short...the Facebook Marketplace dealer was not a scam at all. We had simply misunderstood which pieces we were talking about. Fast forward to the end of the visit: three employees (two gentlemen and a woman / I'm sad I didn't get their names) helped me load everything and went the extra mile in every way. They were incredibly kind to me... even after my less-than-great attitude earlier. I tipped them and apologized for being grumpy, but I have to say I left there genuinely believing in people again. They handled the situation with so much patience and kindness. Very cool experience. I'll absolutely be back (with a better attitude!) and I'll be paying that kindness forward. Thank you to those three employees....even helped load my trailer. Seriously nice. Like....extra! Thank yoU!

The true treasure of the sho are the people that run it. They are so delightful and always make you feel welcome. Many times they have helped add to a collection by offering suggestions and remembering us when we came in. Though we don't always buy something we always learn something.
