The thrift store is opened to the public and sells mostly clothes (women's, men's and children's ) and shoes, with also a bit of vintage jewelry and women's accessories. I like rummaging through thrift stores and looking for unique vintage items. The volunteer staff is super friendly and helpful. Changing rooms are available to try on clothing. The small shop is well organized. Prices are very reasonable and proceeds benefit the food pantry. Jewelry was marked half price during my visit. I found a stunning artisan necklace, which I regret not buying. The shop is located behind the church and there is plenty of parking. The shop maintains the same hours as the adjacent food pantry, so the hours vary.

Second Treasures will be open about 10 hours a week with a particularly focus on supporting the needs of its Washington Township neighbors. It's patterned after the church's popular Bazaar and Clothing Sale and will support the work of the church's Women's Ministry. A good majority of the items are donated by church members and will be staffed by volunteers from the church. It's located at the North end of Second's Mission Suite (outside the Northside Food Pantry). The thrift store is opening to the public on Tuesday, April 23rd, and will be open on Tuesdays (12-3pm), Wednesdays (3:30-6:30pm), and Saturdays (9:30am-12:30pm). I was pleased with the items available and the prices at which they were marked. Clothing, of course, is quite popular here and there are items for men, women, children, etc. While you won't mistake this non-profit, church-based thrift store for one of the behemoths in terms of selection, this is a really cool idea for a great cause. Today's soft opening/open house was a great chance to get a feel for everything to be offered and how it all will work. Cash and credit cards are accepted. In terms of accessibility, there's plenty of accessible parking and doorways are pretty decent. This is on the first floor and accessibility should not be an issue. 5-stars might be a tad generous given the simplicity of the project, however, I'm always a fan of true non-profit, mission-based efforts and I'm anxious to see this one grow and truly support the Washington Township area.

I took tons of pictures, so don't worry! The staff is very welcoming and helpful. Everything is well organized and beautifully displayed. We purchased some books, a couple of DVD's, a purse, and a pin (I have a collection). We made some great finds and the prices, for what we brought, were very reasonable. If you're a big spender though, they do have a pair of statues in a back room going for $4,900 and I'm pretty sure that isn't the most expensive item that they have available. It was really fun to just look around at all of the various things that they had available.

I live just east of SoBro, though I'm known to claim the area as my homefront. SoBro Vintage Market is probably right on that line between what would be considered SoBro and Broad Ripple, though it undeniably carries a SoBro vibe. In case there's any doubt, this is a vintage market. The vibe tends to change here from visit to visit, though I'm not going to say I actually frequent the place because, quite honestly, it's not always particularly wheelchair friendly. Some of this stuff is vintage enough that I don't want to take a chance on breaking it with my chair. You can get art here. You can get music here. You can get clothing here. You can get some furniture here. If you look up this place on social media, you'll see that they actually have "& Curiosities" in their name - that's appropriate because they have quite a bit that I would simply call "curiosities." Prices range from "great deal" to WTF?" It seems like when I've been here, I've always seen quite a bit that falls into mid-century. That's kind of appropriate considering an awful lot of SoBro would fall into that era (including my home - a 1955 California ranch). When they are open, they are known for putting some items outside (which is how I finally stopped - I saw a wonderful retro dining room table that was to die for). People are friendly and knowledgeable. I honestly don't know a lot about the place, other than I find it to be ultra-cool, and I've never stopped by that I didn't see something I'd want (and will sometimes get). If you're into the vintage scene, SoBro Vintage Market is definitely worth a visit. If you have mobility issues or are a wheelchair user, just be aware that sometimes it gets pretty tight inside and you'll want to exercise caution.

Falling under the umbrella of Good News Mission, a near-eastside ministry that started off as what one some would call a "homeless shelter" but has grown to include a youth center, supports for families, and even a neighborhood health clinic with a focus on the near-eastside. Good News Ministries Thrift Shop offers used or new clothing, furniture, appliances, household items, and much more. The thrift shop is run by residents from the men's shelter and offers them work experience and direct customer interaction. I drive by the thrift shop just about every single day on the way to work and had long been curious, however, I never stopped in until recently to finally check it out. Those who were working in the story were friendly and helpful. Rest assured that this is not a Goodwill store - it's smaller, less organized, and definitely more crowded and a bit run down. However, I found it to be clean and actually was surprised how much they actually had. 100% of the proceeds from the thrift shop help to support the various efforts of Good News Ministries. It's worth noting that this very much a ministry as is everything with Good News. There's a strong foundation of faith here, specifically Christian, and it radiates throughout their offerings. In terms of accessibility, I'd say the thrift shop offers casual accessibility. Yes, you can get in it and the actual environment typically will depend on what they have at the time. I generally had not much difficulty, but it's a bit hit-and-miss. Because it's an old Village Pantry, the building itself was generally designed with accessibility in mind. I've never seen an actual crowd here. The small parking lot has informal options for accessibility like aisle ends, etc. The thrift shop is catty-corner to the Good News 10-unit family shelter and right by the East Washington Branch Library. Would I return? Definitely. Prices are good, options are plentiful, customer service is casual but helpful, and Good News has been around since the 1950s and has a long history of helping those with housing instability. Since this is only their 2nd review, I think it's safe to say this highly visible but often unnoticed thrift shop is definitely an under-appreciated gem here in Indy and a terrific way of supporting Good News Mission. Not only are the prices great but this store will make any organized persons heart sing! Amazing organization and flow of the store, kudos Toggery! At first, I was a little disappointed in The Toggery because it seemed like the clothes were just a half step up from a regular Goodwill, but then I found the jeans, and now I'm not so sure. I think it all depends on when you shop, and what you're looking for. If you're looking for unusual vintage gems, you probably won't find that here. If you're looking for regional-trendy clothing ... you will probably find that here. I visited on a Saturday afternoon, and the racks seemed a little picked-through, but I think that's because this place is popular and so the racks probably were indeed picked through. They buy clothing during the weekdays, so if you want to find the good stuff, you should probably visit during the week, I'm thinking. They have dressing rooms available that you can just walk into (you don't have to flag down someone!), and they also have sale items that are pretty good. Like most consignment shops, they don't accept returns or exchanges, so make sure you're happy with your items before you purchase!

Like most Vintage shops there isn't much the bigger woman but the clothing accessories are such a treat to look at and enjoy. Places like this make me want to put on a play set in the past and go to town in this shop outfitting everyone. The clerk was very welcoming and knowledgeable. The displays in the store were very cool as well. We will definitely be back.

It was supposed to be 28 degrees at the start, so the heavy, hooded fleece I bought for $5.99 was perfect! I do this for every cold weather race, and it works out so well! The race organizers then gather up all the clothes people toss along the course, launder them and donate the back. It's kind of like clothing rental. This was only my second visit to this location, and I had no problem finding what I needed and checkout was efficient. I liked their one line system since I have a talent for always selecting the slowest line if there are multiple lines. Parking in the lot out front is plentiful and easy in and out off of Keystone.
