I hadn't been to this Meijer since summer 2024, back when it was still under renovation. Imagine how pleasantly surprised I was when stopping by during Thanksgiving week 2025. This Meijer has had a complete glow up! It's bright, clean, and well organized. Lots of items on sale. Lots of self-checkout registers. Clean store. Well stocked, many sale items. No waiting in line, quick check out and also self-check! Plenty of parking and carts. We came to get dinner, filtered water at the "Fill it yourself" (50 cents) and got all that but also cute clothes and killer chocolate ice cream. Saved $7.50 on t-shirts. Dinner was salmon, fresh green beans with pecans with seasoning added, rice. Great & healthy. Thanks for the great selection. read more

How about hiring more people to work . Your employees are over worked and under paid . You run with a skeleton crew and treat them like shit . Your regional manager needs a kick in the ass out the door . You can never get and deli help and have 1 maybe 2 people working pickup . There is harldy any working the checkout lanes and they look exausted from dealing with customers pissed off about the service . read more

I went to Meijer just before midnight closing on Oct. 7 and had the best experience with Jae D. at the self-checkout. She came right over and rang through a trash can because she noticed I would have a hard time finding its code to scan. She helped several other customers, unasked, as well. She was so cheerful, at such a late hour and what must have been near the end of a long shift for her. I told her I appreciated her help and positivity, and she said she's happy to make customers' experiences better. Wow! I hope management commends her. read more

Meijer store in Brighton is under construction . Complete remodel . The amount of construction presently going on inside the store is too much to handle as a customer . The dust ( yuck ) is landing on all the shelves , not to mention the hammering and sawing noise level is out of control . The amount of work a customer must put in to locate anything along with the noise and filth is less then desirable . I would personally visit your other grocery stores in Brighton until the project is finished . Sadly , the employees are tired ( I don't blame them ) and overworked however , they are rude . Why do I go here? The lines are ridiculous. If it's a weekend, plan on spending a half hour in line. I hear they can't get enough staff to work. I wonder if it's because their health is in jeopardy? I say that because of COVID precautions. I love seeing hand sanitizer through out the store. They claim to clean off the carts, but it's not thorough. Oh and there are so many people who come in with NO MASK and no one says anything to them. I don't expect the 16 year old to say something or the older greeter to have to do that. They should practice what other stores do. One way in and one way out with someone paid a little more, stopping the people with no mask from coming in. I believe it only takes 3.5 seconds for their germs to circulate. I should try walking in with no shoes and see what happens. Lol. Another issue is that the store is always out of things. Not just during COVID, but even before. The interesting part is if you find someone nice enough to check stock, they have it, just holding it. I find that especially true in the meat department. Lately their produce has been meh. Lots of veggies are on their last leg and they have a huge quantity of them. Specifically the colored peppers, cucumber, tomato, small avocado, and zucchini. All of which I needed to purchase today. And why is it that even the good blueberry containers have bad, fuzzy berries in them. I don't know what else to say. I'm giving them a two because the staff are mostly nice and helpful. I give them flexibility. As long as they don't give me attitude, I'm ok with them not being chipper because they are so over worked and under paid. They also have nice cakes and such. read more

Very nice store! I'm not from the area, and just stopped in to get a few essentials - vino (surprisingly good selection!), some snacks and a swim suit (What can I say? The hotel has a pool and a jacuzzi!). Big place...seems to have...literally everything. Impressive! Reasonable prices, very friendly staff. read more

This review is based on my experience with their curbside pickup. These days, you can't be too careful, so I often opt for curbside pickup. I showed up 10 minutes before my 7-8 pm pickup. I called when I pulled up and it rang and rang and rang.....I texted, no reply This went on for ten minutes. Then finally someone answered, asked my name. Said they received my text, would have been nice to have gotten a reply text so I would have known. Said they would be out in a few minutes. Ten more minutes went by. Then she comes to my window, informs me my order has not been pulled yet and asks if I mind if she gets the car next to mines order first!! Excuse me? Mind you the car pulled up 10-15 min after I did. Having dinner in the oven, as well as being here for 30 min at this point, I said no. She then said the other person's order was paid for and mine wasn't. Odd, I gave the credit card when I placed the order. So she said she would go pick my order she just needed me to give her my actual credit card so she could take it in the store with her to pay. Seriously??? I'm going to give my credit card to a stranger?? When the order already had it. At this point I told her to forget it and left. This is the second pickup order they have messed up of mine. 5 months apart. You would think by this time a sure this large would have a better handle on pickup orders. I do curbside for safety. Wvu are employees cunning to the window? Most places just come and stick items in your trunk. Not have conversations putting themselves and others at risk. I guess I'll just be sticking to Kroger from now on. Yes, we called customer service and waited on hold for twenty minutes, then they disconnected when they finally answered. Called back, took forever again.... Finally spoke to someone who basically stated that they were busy and they could care less. Great customer service Meijer! read more

Today I've reached my breaking point with this store. I've been in line to check out for almost 25 minutes because there's only 2 lanes open other than self check out. I am glad that the employee with the blue dress shirt, who I'm assuming is a manger, is spending his time to restocking the candy in each aisle. It's so nice to live near a proper Meijer again. This one has the added bonus of having friendly employees, and it's totally laid back (in other words there aren't Detroit police stationed at the front door and the patrons aren't rude). I haven't seen this store crowded yet, which is nice. I suspect it would take the Apocalypse before it was totally slammed, so you can come in and shop without navigating a line of carts left in the middle of the aisles. Today I laughed when I was telling my friend that I had to "run to Meijer" after work. That's a joke in and of itself. When I walked in there were no shopping carts. Not one. Three other people and myself stood there for nearly 5 minutes waiting for carts to be brought in. I noticed a few of the products I was shopping for were either not available or when I found them. There were only a few left. This seems to be the case a lot with their inventory. Every single time, consistently, the checkout process is LONG and SLOW. The cashiers just seems to move slow and there are never enough registers open, this is EVERY time. On a positive note, they have some great prices, I picked up some seasonal Mrs Meyers hand soaps, that are normally 3.99, were 1.50! They have a lot of good deals like that! read more

I shop here quite often. They have a huge selection of everything. I like the layout better than other stores I have visited and their prices are decent. I agree with the previous reviewer about the bottle return area though. Don't go after dark and alone, it is creepy. Seriously, who came up with this? A room, completely separate from the store and all the way at the end where there is little traffic, with no employees monitoring it, where you go to get cash for your returnables. I feel like I can't turn my back on my purse or child for even a second because if either one got snatched up there would be no one there to help me. Curb side orders are constantly a mess. The online ordering system glitches almost every use. It's caused me two spend far longer than actual shopping takes and dumped my order so many times. In store they can't seem to value their customers time or money by keeping lanes open. I've spoken to managers who make excuses and sent emails to corporate and just crickets. Terrible. read more

Ok, so Meijer spent the past several months remodeling their store. I put up with shopping carts in the aisles with stuff stacked up in it. I put up with chasing stuff as it moved from aisle to aisle each week. And, now behold the remodel is COMPLETE! And it sux. big TIME. Ok first off, they made a little room that you can only get to from outside the building. This little room is brightly lit, sticky, and attractively finished in linoleum. Kind of like an insane asylum. How do I know that? Don't ask. The purpose of said sticky small room is to recycle your bottles and cans. There is only one way in and one way out. It's creepy. It's open 24/7. It feels like a place where child molesters will hang out. I'm sure it was a good idea on paper, but whoever was in charge of designing it, well...let's just say they must lead a very small square sticky life. Besides relocating stuff all over the store, the only other real major change is the checkout. It's now WORSE than a WALMART. The checkout lanes are narrower, and more crammed with junk at kid friendly grab height. Every checkout lane is adorned with the finest gidgets and gadgets, fresh off the container ship from China. If you aren't getting your daily recommended dosage of lead, then this is the place for you. In all seriousness, what I'm trying to say is that the checkout is just plain stupid. The combination of glaring lights, crap stuffed into every available spot, and assault on your sanity is the result of many months of redoing the store. a;lksdfjla;sdf I don't even know what else to say. This place needs a complete make over/cleansing and management... The bathroom's are disgusting. The smell is unbelievable. I noticed the exhaust vent in the men's room is totally clogged and has possibility never been cleaned, I would hate to see the air filtration system or filters in this building. I would be surprised if no one has gotten sick from air contamination, who's responsible for this? This place doesn't even deserve a rating. We've been there multiple times and there's always a discrepancy with the sale signs never ringing up to what they say. I feel as though we're being taken advantage of... We're done shopping here. This store continues to go downhill. No baggers at the registers . Long lines at self checkouts. I notice this store has a very high turnover rate. It never used to be this way. Krogers a mile away has baggers at the registers that speeds things up. I asked a worker wondered why they don't have more employees, He said its the poor poverty wages, ($10 an hour). I live very close to this store and I've started going to Krogers for faster service. This store is slowly dying. read more

Seriously the slowest checkout I have ever endured. The Howell Meijer is way better in terms of size and selection. I have never waited this long to check out at the Howell Meijer. I had a prescription for my dog called in to the pharmacy for Latanoprost eye drops. I had a coupon for 13.31 from good rx I was also told on the phone that they took good rx, but, if I couldn't use that there were other Meijer discounts just inquire. Well, I could not use the good rx coupon and when I asked about other discounts I was told no not for vet prescription. My dog need the drop so I bought them...$39.21....I then found out that other pharmacy's sell the same product for a little less than $10.00. This is my own fault...let the buyer beware, but, I will never use this pharmacy again. read more

Rarely is the service here exceptional but today it was exceptionally bad. At the customer service desk I inquired of the location of a product and without looking up from the computer was given the distracted answer that it was maybe somewhere In housewares which would be obvious but that department is half the store and I had been through it. I asked if she could look up the location but said she couldn't without a UPC. If your business is selling products please remember that if someone can't find it they can't buy it. I've seen this store go through ups and downs over the years. I no longer bother to hit up the deli after too many ridiculous wait times and one rude women (its been a couple years). I saw the wait times in checkouts slowly become more and more atrocious over a period of time but they actually seem to be getting faster these days. Overall, most the staff are usually nice. However, on Saturday I asked the guy in electronics (guy with giant holes where his ear lobes should be) if he knew when the next time they would get a shipment of toilet paper in and he just tried to lecture me about not hoarding. I just wanted to buy a pack for my parents who were coming back to Michigan and didn't have any supplies. But a few minutes later I heard some little old lady complaining that she had to do everything after being told to unload a shipment of toilet paper of the truck. And right after that a really nice older fellow with a white beard came over to electronics dept who was an off work employee took the time to show me where the toilet paper was being handed out. Its always people that impact your experience the most. read more

Went grocery shopping, fell in the freezer section. How many employees does it take to get the story? I had 15 employees making a scene. Then because I stood up and limped away, I over heard two of them say nothing else needs to be done! Really?? No employee made sure I was okay and made it to the check out counter and to my car. Thank goodness for the good sanitarian that helped me get to a grocery line, pay for my stuff, and waited with me for my husband. read more

I have been a loyal Meijer customer in the past, but this particular location has been terrible lately. There are a few very friendly employees who have worked there for a long time, but unfortunately there are many rude ones. I have seen a cashier yell at a customer, I saw an employee roll her eyes at my husband not knowing we were together. The lines are consistently extremely long. Compared to other locations, the selection is not good. I definitely will take my regular grocery shopping trips elsewhere from now on. read more

The deli was slow. One of the workers was deliberately working slower than anyone I have ever seen. They made no attempt to increase their speed as the line got longer and longer. In fact the younger woman went even slower. People started to walk away. After 15 min I left. There was only 4 people ahead of my number and they never got to it. read more
