This is a nice location, it is fairly large with plenty of places to try on clothing and an entire room of sale items. The people working here have always been helpful and pleasant. They have a good selection. Personally, it is not my favorite location, I do like the smaller store in Rochester, they seem to pack in a bigger variety of items, but we come here from time to time when we are in the area.

Unbeknownst to me was that the jacket was missing the main zipper. Yes... the jacket had absolutely NO zipper with which to close out the cold. We discovered this only after I returned home & my 14yo son tried it on. I tried to return asking just for store credit. The store rep - Abby informed me they would not take back the jacket as it was marked "clearance". And that because their buyer "made a mistake" they marked it clearance (30% off original price). When I emphasized that I only wanted store credit and that I would gladly choose something else for my son. I suggested that if they were passing a "mistake" onto a customer, that they should do so with transparency and clearly mark the tag with a note indicating the items flaw, e.g. write "missing main zipper" on tag. Otherwise, I suggested, the omission smacks of deceit and is unethical. She seemed unconcerned. Abby & other employees said with a laugh, "we don't even know how to do that". Meaning they don't know how to do a store exchange. I couldn't help but notice an air of smugness when she said this. Abby was quite bodacious and loud as she exclaimed a refusal in front numerous customers. I felt humiliated and defeated. So they refused to accept the jacket back. Adding insult to injury, Abby offered to take the jacket and donate it! I am a seasoned shopper and loyal customer of Platos. We've purchased clothing for all 3 of my now teen kids for the past several years over the course of numerous growth spurts including a current growth spurt my 14 yo is now experiencing! I don't appreciate the disrespect nor the blatant disregard on full display for other customers to witness and perhaps intended as showcase. I'll simply have to take my business elsewhere. Luckily, there are numerous options for used clothing.

Going into Dear Golden is like walking into a wearable museum. This is the nicest, classist, most tastefully curated vintage store I've been in. They also started doing more jewelry and home goods too which don't stay around long so I always see something new they have put out. I also like that the owner and Jasmine (love her) are never pushy or walking around trying to up sell me things they know don't fit quite right or don't match my hair. To the contrary, when I need any help they will whisk into the changing room to tie up that corset one more half inch if I give them a little wink. Finally, I love that they are extremely knowledgeable about the historical significance of the clothes and jewelry. They know all the top--and lesser known albeit important--designers of the various periods and they have encyclopedic breadth of why the clothes were designed and worn. With all the nice articles in there, makes me wonder what's in her storage...guess I'll just have to wait and come back soon.

I received it four days later! All the reviews about staff being snobby.... I don't understand at all. My partner and I travel to different shops such as this across the US and collect unique items... there are snobby people but dear golden... they aren't them. People reviewing saying they are, now that sounds snobby. I wish dear golden all the best and can't wait to return.

They mostly have suits, pants, and blazers for men, but they do have a small selection of businessy clothes for women. They also have a sale section where items are marked down as far as 60%, which is where David found his white pinstriped suit. Our salesperson was very helpful. He told us that suit rules are made to be broken. If David wanted no cuffs with a pleated pant, that was absolutely fine. He also pinned David's jacket saying men usually wore their sleeves too long and made the suit look a lot better. They also have a comfy couch and fashion magazines in case you are waiting on someone.

Of course being a clothes horse female who had to get rid of 2/3 of her wardrobe in my downsizing move. I looked for a zip up hoodie and found a cute one with a good price and in my size. Near it was the Snoopy sweatshirt that is also a little patriotic. The sleep top was near the dressing room. Only spent $121 for all 4. Looking forward to stopping back if I am still here next year.
