Going into Dear Golden is like walking into a wearable museum. This is the nicest, classist, most tastefully curated vintage store I've been in. They also started doing more jewelry and home goods too which don't stay around long so I always see something new they have put out. I also like that the owner and Jasmine (love her) are never pushy or walking around trying to up sell me things they know don't fit quite right or don't match my hair. To the contrary, when I need any help they will whisk into the changing room to tie up that corset one more half inch if I give them a little wink. Finally, I love that they are extremely knowledgeable about the historical significance of the clothes and jewelry. They know all the top--and lesser known albeit important--designers of the various periods and they have encyclopedic breadth of why the clothes were designed and worn. With all the nice articles in there, makes me wonder what's in her storage...guess I'll just have to wait and come back soon.

I could spend an entire day here. I wish they were open Monday's as that is my day off but... always come down on weekends when I can. I emailed the owner looking for a dress I had previously tried on in store and she had it available and ready online to purchase immediately! That timing was rare and special! I received it four days later! All the reviews about staff being snobby.... I don't understand at all. My partner and I travel to different shops such as this across the US and collect unique items... there are snobby people but dear golden... they aren't them. People reviewing saying they are, now that sounds snobby. I wish dear golden all the best and can't wait to return.

How can I stay away from your unique and trendy clothing brands, as you epitomize the basic all American look, right in my dear downtown Northville? Why does your owner have to be both sweet and have a good eye for what I should buy? Why do you allow signs to be posted on your windows that shout "SALE!"? Do you actually expect that the young adult crowd will be able to resist your appeal? I suppose you don't. I suppose you are happy that your owner stocks you with all the greatest (AMERICAN MADE) products she can find. I bet you like the attention. Even my dog likes walking by you in the spring, summer and fall with your enticing dish of water placed there just for him. Rock on Main, you draw me to you as I walk or drive down the street. Those who have to look at me thank you for fitting me with such nice clothes, but my wallet is sad when I leave. As cheesy as this review may be, I am once again disappointed that this business has not already been reviewed. This is a great little clothing store that houses all of the basics you need for a stylish and attractive wardrobe. I would say that the pricing is moderate to expensive, but ladies and gentlemen... who isn't searching for the perfect pair of jeans that will actually last for a while? The only bad thing I can say is that the mirrors are outside the fitting rooms. This is not really SO bad, except it makes for a longer shopping experience and I am usually in a hurry.

The one worker, I'm not sure what his name is, remembered my boyfriend since he's been there several times but I really like how personable and friendly the staff is! Their products are just top tier, great selection, but they are at a higher price point, so be warned. The socks and shoes and other accessories are more affordable, but most of the tops and bottoms are anywhere from $200-$600+. There was a couch in the back as well that I enjoyed chilling on while my boyfriend tried stuff on! Very fun! I'd love to visit again

November 19 UPDATE: Thuy,…read more I saw your message. Your employee assured me that her position and communication was supported by you and your store policy. Please reach out to me via email: dr.amariejohnson@gmail.com to resolve. With children and a busy career, I simply don't have time additional to invest in this issue. I expect a full refund. (Less the disrespect). ********* ******** *********** Just purchased a Columbia Fleece outer jacket for my teen son marked "clearance". Unbeknownst to me was that the jacket was missing the main zipper. Yes... the jacket had absolutely NO zipper with which to close out the cold. We discovered this only after I returned home & my 14yo son tried it on. I tried to return asking just for store credit. The store rep - Abby informed me they would not take back the jacket as it was marked "clearance". And that because their buyer "made a mistake" they marked it clearance (30% off original price). When I emphasized that I only wanted store credit and that I would gladly choose something else for my son. I suggested that if they were passing a "mistake" onto a customer, that they should do so with transparency and clearly mark the tag with a note indicating the items flaw, e.g. write "missing main zipper" on tag. Otherwise, I suggested, the omission smacks of deceit and is unethical. She seemed unconcerned. Abby & other employees said with a laugh, "we don't even know how to do that". Meaning they don't know how to do a store exchange. I couldn't help but notice an air of smugness when she said this. Abby was quite bodacious and loud as she exclaimed a refusal in front numerous customers. I felt humiliated and defeated. So they refused to accept the jacket back. Adding insult to injury, Abby offered to take the jacket and donate it! I am a seasoned shopper and loyal customer of Platos. We've purchased clothing for all 3 of my now teen kids for the past several years over the course of numerous growth spurts including a current growth spurt my 14 yo is now experiencing! I don't appreciate the disrespect nor the blatant disregard on full display for other customers to witness and perhaps intended as showcase. I'll simply have to take my business elsewhere. Luckily, there are numerous options for used clothing.
