Invited to spend Thanksgiving with friends in TN, we were faced with a dilemma because we didn't want to drive, when our friends told us about the Megabus. And the incredibly cheap promotion they were running. If you are reading this review, keep in mind that all of my opinions are tainted by the fact that I paid a grand total of $16.50 - which included the $.50 booking fee, for a round trip to Knoxville for two. (That's $16.50 total for both, not $16.50 each) The Megabus departs at 7:30 or at 2:00 and the 7:30 bus seemed our best option for arriving with a good chunk of daylight left. Leaving from the Civic Center we were required to stash our luggage (one bag each) in the luggage compartments on the underside of the bus before boarding. The interior of the bus is fairly basic with clean upholstery on reclining, no-frills but comfortable seats, decent leg room and a very clean but tiny tin-can bathroom. The plug-ins and wifi were working so we could charge our phones and surf the web on the laptop and I saw many of the other passengers do the same. Not sure what the TV screens are for, they weren't in use on our trip. The Bus ran completely on time, departing at the scheduled time and arriving on time, although more on that coming... The trip up was better than the trip back. The bus seemed to be slightly newer, there were no screaming midgets, and the bus was also cleaner. Maybe the strangest thing to get used ot is that the Megabus doesn't use a stopping facility - they leave from outside of the Civic Center, on the street, and don't pull into a bay. Same thing in Knoxville, they leave from outside of a transport hub, they don't pull in. I'm thinking this is probably a money-saving practice that contributes to the fares being low? So perhaps the strangest thing was the stop in Chattanooga. By and large the bus is an express, no little town stops along the way. Chattanooga is it and I'd guess the bus that goes to Nashville probably stops there, too. The weird thing is the stop. A partially vacant giant strip center parking lot alongside I-24 where we stopped in front of the major tennant, a big multiscreen theatre. Oddly, there was a dollar store just down the center that was open on Thanksgiving and passengers could leave the bus to get drinks and snacks there if they wanted, during the brief stop. The negatives - the second bus, the bus we took to return to Atlanta on Friday, was a bit dirtier than the first. The upholstery and bathrooms were still clean, but there were the odd snack wrapper on the floor and gum papers crunched up next to the window railing. The sun shade also didn't pull down on our window which wasn't an issue until we cleared the fog zone coming down into the metro area. The fog zone, that was my major concern. Maybe it's because I am old enough to remember well the major accident of the holiday season of 1990 on the stretch of I-75 between Chattanooga and Knoxville - 90 some cars, more than 10 deaths, and a much younger me, traveling with my family, drove through there a day after the accident occurred and things were still torn up and smoldering. Cause of the accident? FOG. Cause of my concern during the trip - FOG. It was so thick coming back that when the bus arrived in Chattanooga there was no way to identify that we were in a strip center or that there was a flamboyantly-colored and lit mega movie theatre just yards away. Maybe some that read this will think it's crazy to be concerned, but to have been on that bus, unable to see anything but white outside the windows but the odd Semi that would be a touching distance were the windows open when we passed them, or even able to see the highway in front of us as we barrelled along at the usual speeds. I'd have rather gotten in a half hour late, or if I was waiting on the bus, I'd rather have known the bus was taking the safety precaution of slowing in heavy, heavy fog, than arrived as scheduled. Will I take the Megabus again? For the same price, to the same place, YES. If the fare were, say, tripled - hard to call. But I am looking at discount round trip Megabus fares to Orlanda in December - right now they are coming up at $41....... read more

To whom it may concern I took the mega bus from Jacksonville to Atlanta on July 7th at 10:30 pm I would like to make a formal complaint about the bus driver he was very disrespectful, rude, nasty unprofessional condescending and very arrogant to all of your customers Who boarded your bus in Jacksonville and when we started on our way he drove recklessly this has put a very bad taste in my mouth for mega bus. I can be reached at, snatae@hotmail.com read more

I just rode the Megabus one way to Orlando and found it to be much better than expected. The upper level had amazing visibility (thus no claustrophobia) and everyone was well behaved and VERY quiet. I had a row to myself and could have gotten a great deal of work done had I thought to upload some files. The wifi is good...pretty slow at times to download, but just fine for email, facebook, etc... The trip seemed much shorter than the marathon drive I've done literally dozens of times. A few odd aspects were the 40 minute stop in Tifton and the strange drop-off location in Orlando, but those are very minor. I look forward to riding again and hope I have an equally stress-free and pleasurable experience. read more

DO NOT TRAVEL MEGABUS. I tried to use their service and their first bus from Gainesville, FL to Atlanta, GA was over an hour late causing me to almost miss my connecting bus from Atlanta to Durham. Megabus never once notified their customers that the bus would be late, nor do they offer any refund or compensation even though they would be at fault. This bus cost $30 one way. Their second bus from Atlanta to Durham was also over an hour late giving me an impression that being extremely late is a norm for the company. I called customer service and all the woman could say is that "I'm sorry you feel that way", stating that there was nothing she could do to assist me. This bus cost $60 one way. On my third bus trip returning from Durham to Atlanta I arrived on time yet again. Because it was hot outside I decided to wait in my car, as most people do, until I saw the bus pull up. Expecting them to arrive late, I didn't want to stand out in the sweltering heat for over an hour for their service for the third time. When I got out a lady informed me that the bus to Atlanta had already left (on time) and that they came in an UNMARKED bus. I called customer service and the representative stated that somewhere in the Megabus contract, in the fine print they state that they occasionally use unmarked buses without the Megabus logo and Megabus doesn't have to inform you when they choose to use one. Ultimately, the rep would not refund me my $60 nor put it towards another trip, leaving me stranded at Durham station where I am still sitting currently until the next bus comes. She offered to set up another bus reservation but the next bus doesn't come until 5 hours later for another $65 over the phone, leaving me with no option but to spend over $120 to get home one way. She offered me an email, inquiry@megabus.com to help with any customer service issues but would not let me speak to a supervisor. I read online that people have waited 3 months just to be refunded $30 via their customer service system so I am instead posting online to warn people about their services. I suggest taking a rental car or even taking Greyhound. If for any reason you miss a Megabus you will end up spending far more than a rental vehicle. Keep in mind I am still sitting at the bus stop with my situation unresolved. DO NOT TAKE MEGABUS. read more

What a deal!!!!! $10.00 roundtrip ticket to Memphis, Tennessee from Atlanta, Georgia. Bus was clean, seats comfortable and drivers friendly. Bathroom on board but also had two rest stops-one at truck stop and other at bus station. Leave the driving to someone else and save a bunch of money on gas and vehicle expense. read more

Bus didn't depart due to break down an the people in the phone answering department would not confirm that the full amount paid would be refunded. Spoke with the head of the phone center whom said that compensation would be determined once the bus reaches the destination but refused to confirm that it would be a refund for the full amount paid. I do not recommend using this company until some type of customer service is established. read more

I rode the Megabus from Atlants to Charlotte this weekend for $19. I can't even get to Charlotte in my car for $19. I think this transportation option is great! I see that you piece together trips all over the country. I will be using them again. read more

My family and I have taken about 10 round trip between Atlanta & New York, Atlanta & Charlotte, and Atlanta & Florida in the last 2 years. The buses are on time, clean, and no complaints on the ride. Great drivers so far. My only complaint is the Wi-Fi never works. read more

i will not book with this bus company ever again until they get a better option on their refund policy, my flight was canceled due to weather, but i booked a bus ticket to travel back,so again, do better, everyone needs to boycott until we have a better option for a refund, with out us it will not thrive!we work to hard for them to rob us like this! read more

If you expect stellar customer service (on the phone or in person), a cushy ride, or all the amenities advertised (like wifi), look elsewhere. If your goal is simply to get to point B on a budget w/ a decent, time-conscious driver, this is how you do it: - make sure any electronic devices you want to use are FULLY charged before leaving. Use them sparingly on your ride, as the outlets don't necessarily work - purchase your tickets as early as possible to get the best price, and go ahead and splurge on an upgraded seat if you can - arrive at the pick-up site 25+ mins early...they say 15 mins but i've definitely been left before - pack lightly, but bring something for your bum/lower back - pack snacks; toilet paper/baby wipes (they run out sometimes); and disinfectant (even though it's not the dirtiest bus I've been on) I've used the Megabus system to get to and from Atlanta, Columbia, Fayetteville, Nashville, NYC, Philly, Richmond, Vegas, New Orleans, Houston, and LA. I've traveled quite a bit for less than $450 total, so I've got to appreciate MegaBus for what it is. read more

Terrible!!!!!! I am currently waiting for my megabus to show up. The time is 2:45 and it was supposed to show up to 11:00. This service should be called megabullsh!# we have been waiting here for hours standing in a line. With no restrooms no food or water. We are told if we leave and the bus comes they will leave without us. Every bus has been late today. Absolutely ridiculous. I don't know how they run a business like this. Every time I call they don't have an answer of when the bus will be here. We live in an era of instant communication and gps everywhere. How do u not know when the bus will be arriving? read more

So I really wanted to give Megabus a chance and I figured that a simple 2 hour trip would be a great test of its services. Here's a basic summary of what happened: I was going from Atlanta to Chattanooga which was supposed to leave at 3:10pm and arrive at 5:30pm. (I have driven this route before so I knew it was a straight shot all highway, and didn't expect any problems.) I arrived at 2:30 hoping to get there early enough to get a good seat. Unfortunately the bus didn't arrive until 3:15 and seating was a lot more cramped than I thought it would be. Unless you sat alone you had virtually NO room to move. After taking off it became obvious that the driver was not used to Atlanta traffic based on the excessive amount of break checking she was doing including a close call with a median. After breaking through the traffic we were riding comfortably for about an hour when all of a sudden the driver pull to the side of the highway (not an exit, just the next to right lane) and told us a tire was "overheating" and dispatch told her to pull over until it cooled down. So we sat on the side of the road frustrated with our situation for an HOUR before finally someone went to the driver and asked how much longer we would be pulled over and she announced that we would leave in another 15mins. 20mins later we were back on the road and were able to successfully reach Chattanooga. Unfortunately as we were exiting the off ramp of the highway, the driver hit the breaks and asked if anyone knew how to get to the bus stop. Luckily we were less than a mile away so after a uturn we made it to the megabus stop at 7:25 I personally will probably NOT ride with this company again for the simple fact that they had no concern for the travelers time or remorse for there tardiness. The fact that a 2 hour trip turned into a 4 hour ride and NO ONE attempted to reconcile the situation is unacceptable. I gave them 2 stars because after an hour I finally found the outlet and I only wasted $11. But that will be the last time I give away my money to Megabus. read more

Ok people. I'll be reviewing going and returning trip on this bus. First of all, if you want a somewhat decent seat then arrive early. The upper seats of the bus is more uncomfortable than the lower level seats. The seating is close anf cramped but the lower level seats have a bit more room. My to and from trips were long. And the layover stops were ridiculously long too. And my to Dallas bus was and hour and a half late during my layover stop. We have no way of knowing when the bus would arrive. A text or email alert would be nice. Depending on the driver thr service can be pleasant and friendly. Wi-fi and plugs for charging devices was a good plus. The prices for trips were fair. I would ride again if they make tweaks to seating and making sure buses are on time. read more

Our first time on Megabus and after reading various reviews we were hesitant about the trip. We traveled from ATL to Indy last week and I have to admit I am a fan. We left early in the morning and the bus was on time - left on time and arrived on time for the round trip. The drivers except for one were great - they have a job to do and do it professionally. We had a semi rude driver from Chicago to Louisville who thought it was funny to repeat the departure time at a rest stop about 20 times... other than that they were great. Keep in mind you are not traveling with the upper crust of society and the pick up locations are just a street corner with no facilities etc. Some suggestions - be on time, if you are not on time or back on the bus in time - too bad - they allow food and drinks and they stop on our trip twice for food and facilities. We enjoyed our trip we watched movies - talked and best of all I didn't have to drive or fight traffic. If you checking luggage have one person check the luggage and the other select your seats. We sat downstairs and actually had a table seat for the entire trip back to Atlanta. Overall I would do this again and there were no negatives about the trip. I say good job Megabus! read more

traveled from Durham to Atlanta for the overnight fun. the trip took about 10 hrs since we have three stops however it bits driving myself. I am telling my whole family to take the bus when they come to visit me since it is so cheap. Pros: Cheap it only cost me $1 ( i bought my ticket two weeks before traveling) comfortable cons: The bus stopped at gas station with only one fast food restaurant ( I wanted options to eat something else). The bus is really cold so bring a sweater and a blanket read more

Fuck mega bus. Change a trip and had a balance. To us balance now or forfeit . In other words we're taking the balance if you don't put it towards a trip within the next month. Bitch, I aint got no trips scheduled for the next month. I call it embezzlement or theft. read more

Let me save you some pain. JUST DONT DO IT. What a joke company. I've used megabus a lot and every time I ask myself, why... simple put the price was cheap for me . Atl to gainesville round trip. Today I had it enough. This will be absolutely the last time I ever use this retarded company again. 2 hr wait time for the bus is a norm for these idiots. Not to mention they line you up in the sun for hours. But dont let this fool you. Every now and then, they are on time. But the best part, if youre not there because you think they will be late as usual, guess what? You just missed your bus. The staff? Unprofessional. What more should I say? If you don't mind the suffering in the heat with a bunch of unprofessional people go for it. Otherwise, not worth it. Trust me you will thank me later. read more

Deal yes! Friendly driver, no! ATL to Durham and the return was a horrible trip solely because of how rude the drivers were to the passengers. Despite the continuous negative publicity regarding Megabus, we decided to try it for a trip from Iowa to Chicago for my daughter at the University of Iowa for Labor Day weekend. We made the reservation in April, clearly receiving confirmation that the terminal location was in Iowa City near campus. Lo and behold, today we received an e-mail stating that the location was changed to Coralville, IA--several miles away. I suspect that they knew the location would be changed at the time we purchased the ticket, but didn't inform customers of that, hoping to dupe people into buying tickets based on false information and knowing that credit card charges greater than 60 days generally cannot be disputed. Why is this company still in business? read more

I had my first experience with Megabus this past weekend and give it four stars! I took the bus from Atlanta to Charlotte, NC and it took around 5 1/2 hours to get there, stopping in Athens on the way north. Having previously driven that distance by myself in my own car and arriving at my destination exhausted and irritated, it was nice not having to think about the trip. I read, listened to music, did some art, and looked out the window. I got on at the Atlanta Civic Center MARTA station along with a lot of other people (I had no idea this service is so popular!), and found that there was organization in the boarding process and the staff was very helpful. I will definitely be taking this service to other cities because it makes traveling easier, despite the longer-than-usual drive times. It is worth not having the stress! read more

Great fares for trips, AC, wifi & charging stations. The drivers are courteous and kind despite the sometimes distracting and disrespectful passengers. Overall a great value. If you happen to get Tim Rowe in Atlanta you will be blessed. Wonderful patient man. read more

BUYER BE WARE!!!! I had a problem because I purchased a ticket for my niece. She turns 16 this week but when I purchased the ticket for her there was nothing that asks whether the ticket is for an adult or minor. The luggage policy is spelled out. There's just a button to indicate the terms and conditions were read. Long story short, you cannot travel unaccompanied unless you are 17. My sister was told to call Megabus Customer Service to get my money back. When I called a rep read to me that "according to the terms and conditions..." then said sorry I could not get my money back. I asked to speak with a supervisor and got the same thing - exactly (same read response). When I asked to speak to someone over her I was told she could not help me and then she read the response back to me again and talked over me so she could keep reading the prepared response. It was very rude and very poor service. My advice after the fact - go to Greyhound. It would have been $10 cheaper and minors can travel unaccompanied with a form. read more

My first trip on Megabus was impressive...driver was hospitable, cordial and cracked jobs as she told us what yo expect during our trip ftom Atlanta to Buenas Vista a.k.a. Orlando...the ride was smooth and comfortable w adequate stops for food, drink and stretching...my overall first impression was better than expected. Me and others around me engaged in awesome conversation ranging from Travon Martin, the black guy killed by white cop in St Louis. We discussed other local, national and intl current events...the highlight of the trip is where we shared personal stories of God, faith, defeat and victory, in Jesus name...going again this summer and Mega will be my mode of travel...will be hoping them to Birmingham soon...loved the double deck buses, outlets for laptops and electronics...we want hordeurvs (sp?) like they offer our European counterparts read more

They are cheap & very janky. The wifi sucks ass, the plugs rarely work, the seats are uncomfortable! Oh & lets not forget the fact that they're ALWAYS late whether it's 20 minutes or 3 hours, they're late. When they take your bags they just sling them in the bottom, it's mostly always crowded on the buses, & the place you wait??? I can't even. Very creepy at night! read more

Megabus is a horrible company! We took megabus from Atlanta to Gainesville and on numerous occasions they were over 1hr late. I am actually waiting on them now and the schedule was to departure at 12:15 pm and it is 1:19pm with no sign of them. In addition, their staff has no idea what is happening and is the least helpful! It is 90plus degrees in downtown Atl and they want passengers to form multiple lines in the sun and wait. This is without any sign of curiosity for their company's delay. read more

The agent at the Civic Center Station in Atlanta GA was EXTREMELY loud and rude this morning as I was preparing to have my nephew board their bus to Durham NC. First it was our fault that we did not know because he was 15 is had to be accompanied with someone. He and my older son rode from Durham to Atlanta with no problem. However because my nephew was returning alone this morning we did not know there would be an issue. I understand the policy of the MegaBus and I am ok with it. What I am angry about is the lack of customer service and treating people with dignity and respect and not yelling that "he aint riding this bus" at 6am in the morning is not proper. This will be the LAST time we travel with MegaBus. It is too many travel options out there to be humilated and disrespected as I felt this morning. read more

If I could actually rate a 0, I would. I was travelling from Atlanta, GA to Richmond, VA to visit my parents (today - like an hour ago) and when I arrived to Main Street Station, my bags were nowhere to be found. After 3 phone calls, and unfortunately holding up the bus for an additional 20 minutes, the driver left - stating that she was not liable for my lost bag. Agreed. However, why does Megabus allow anyone standing at the stop to just *claim* bags? No I.D., no verification, no problem. Any bag you want can be yours. Normally, I would not be as upset, however, the contents of the bag exceeded $3000, as I was bringing home gifts. She urged that it should have been tagged (it was) - so why not ask for the patron to identify the bag by name? But NO WORRIES, Megabus issues up to $250 reimbursement if they are liable for the loss so everything is splendid. I just don't want anyone to be finessed by Megabus into believing they will value the safety or the security of your belongings. Be safe, people. I hope someone reads this and is careful about their luggage, learning from my horrible mistake. I am a pretty frequent traveler and usually prefer Megabus over Greyhound, but I will not be taking a Megabus ride ever again. How about trying the claim tickets like Greyhound and hiring more people to assist with packing the bags on the bus according to drop off point - that would probably help out a lot of patrons in the future. Oh, and more pleasant/efficient customer service protocols. read more

I took Megabus from Atlanta to Charlotte. I left Atlanta on last Wednesday at 10am and arrived in Charlotte approximately 2:00pm. I arrived at the Civic Center Station at 9:30am since the website said to arrive at least 15 minutes early. There was a line already formed for people waiting to board the bus when it arrived. The staff at the Civic Center station reminded us to make sure that our 1 bag to stow under the bus was reasonably sized and not too heavy. They might refuse to store it. Unfortunately we didn't get a Megabus to travel on, we traveled using an American Coach. Overall, the ride was smooth. It's definitely freezing on the bus, but I had a sweater. I had both seats to myself. The bus wasn't full at all. The ride was quiet without any problems. We were dropped off outside the Transportation Center. There's a Burger King right there if you want to pick up something to eat. Or you can walk up the block to the Epicentre for more food choices. I left Charlotte to return to Atlanta on Sunday at 5:00pm. I arrived early so I could get a good seat. I got there around 3:50pm. When the bus pulled up at around 4:15pm, people started coming out of the woodwork to board the bus. I guess people were waiting inside at the Burger King. There wasn't any Megabus staff to organize the line, so it was a free for all and people just formed a line on their own. Note, the driver allows passengers to board from the back door of the bus because the luggage is stored in the back. So don't run to the front of the bus to board. This was the official double-decker Megabus! I rode up top and was fortunate to get both seats to myself again. This time the bus was packed and some people had to sit next to some one. Again, it was freezing on the bus. But it was another smooth ride. We actually arrived in Atlanta a little earlier than expected, around 9pm. For $4, you can't beat this experience! I don't know about longer trips. But for a 4 hour non-stop ride, it was perfect! I'd definitely arrive again. Special Note: Please arrive early for your departure! Several people arrived at 5:01pm when the bus was leaving and tried to get the driver to stop so they could board. One passenger's ride even used their car to block the bus from leaving! Crazy! The bus driver kept blowing the horn and refused to let them on. It was pretty messed up because I know that was the last bus leaving Charlotte for Atlanta. Also, If you miss a bus there are no refunds. Wi-Fi and AC Plug access - The AC adapter plugs were not working. I didn't need it, but some people were bummed out about it. The Wi-Fi was working. read more

Let's get why I'm giving it four stars, which really should be 4 1/2 stars out the way. An hour into the ride the bus broke down. But let's start from the beginning. I took MB (last minute trip) from Atlanta, GA to Mobile, Alabama on Friday, January 18th/returning the following Tuesday. First, it was $46.00 roundtrip, I bought the ticket the Thursday before. Greyhound would have charged you an arm, a thigh and the promise of your first born. There are many MB that come into Civic Center going many different places but all departures and arrivals are well organized, the bus showed up on time (both ways), the bus was amazingly clean, the bathroom, the seats, everywhere for a bus that just unloaded a group of people. The drivers are very nice... now the doom and gloom part. I sat on the bottom deck, there are regular seats then two tables on either side that seats four. That's where I sat with one other person. COMFORTABLE!! The Wi-Fi wasn't working for some odd reason but we were able to charge our phones. About an hour into the ride, the driver announced the bus had broken down. He managed to get us off the highway to a semi-rest stop that had a Waffle House and a gas station with a bathroom and snacks. We were told that we would need to wait at least 2 hours for them to send another bus from Atlanta. Two hours turned into three hours and counting but eventually the bus finally showed up. It was due to arrive in Mobile at 4:52 pm, I arrived at around 10:00 pm. My ride had to go to work so I was kind of stuck. It was cold, dark and the lot (yes, lot) Where MB lets you off in Mobile is in walking distance to nothing!! Thank goodness for smart phones, I located a cab company in the area and auto called (wink to SmartPhone users)...(email me if you need the number) and they got there in under 10 minutes. So why does MB get 4 1/2 stars, because of the way they handled the situation. The driver worked his butt off trying to fix the bus himself, he managed to keep the engine running to we could charge our phones, Kindels, etc. He kept calling trying to get updates, he was just as frustrated as we were, he made sure we knew we could go and eat and tried to keep us calm. We had a loud, obnoxious, passenger on the bus and he handled her with expert hands. We almost had a fight on the bus and he squashed it, with the least amount of drama. The ride on the new bus was smooth and the ride back to Atlanta was wonderful!! I sat on the upstairs deck this time and you don't even realize how far you are in the air. Like the other poster stated... you dont have to get off the bus, you can sleep the entire way and the stops are the stops. I also suggest bringing a blanket because they cannot change the temperature on the bus, bring snacks and beverages because on this run it doesn't stop for refreshments until you are on your way to N. Orleans from Mobile. Oh and MB refunded our money for all the drama they put us through. That's classy and GREAT customer service!! Greyhound would have just told us to suck it up. I'll definitely take MB many times again! read more

Customer service is bad. They give scripted messages, then say sorry and hang up while you are still requesting help. Very robotic and inhumane. No refund ever, just credit. Used it for 1st time for a day trip to NOrleans the Saturday before Superbowl. Cliff notes: Arrive early. Seating seems to be first come, first pick. I didn't know until I boarded that I was first supposed to check in with the agent standing outside. I went out to see him but there were about 20 people in line and the temp was in the 30s. So I went back to my seat to wait for the line to clear. Next thing I know the door is closing and we were on our way. I may use this strategy in the future if I fail to show early though I was probably missed by the agent due to the hubbub of Marta Civic Center. Bring alcohol wipes for when using the restroom to clean the seat and your hands. There is no sink. Show up early to get the best seats which my case were the first two rows on upper deck. The 4 seats on the front row have a fantastic view. The 2 seats on the second row to the left are the only seats with ample leg room; almost as if there was a row missing in front of them. The two seats on the right on the second row is behind the front stairs and the stair rail has a handy tray. No seats have a fold down tray like airplane seats. All other seats have about the same value. I like the fact there are no TSA screeners. Megabus probably doesn't allow it but I could've easily brought my concealed carry pistol with me. Don't know their alcohol policy but I had a flask that I sipped discreetly to put me out for the evening. If it's cold outside it will be cold in the bus. Dress accordingly. Seats are like airline coach and don't recline much but i slept ok. I traveled light but some passengers had rather large carry ons and much bigger luggage for the bus storage compartment. Cheap secured parking deck at the Emory Hospital next to Marta Civic Center. I could see the bus arrive while sitting in my car. Almost full occupancy for the trip down and only 10 riders for the way back. All in all very satisfied with the experience. Neal Rex, GA read more

love the cheap fares, on time arrival and departure, the bus isn't disgusting, but the staff are horrible terrible nasty people! I would have gave a 5 but due to the fact it smelled like 2 bulls & mule on the bus was very upsetting. Everybody that walked passed me smelled like a garbage disposal. This is personally the worst experience on the mega bus i ever had..mysterious liquid falling for the roof of the bus and my destination time was 7 o'clock pm est time and i got there 12 o'clock am est time due to the bus driver talking on the phone and kept pulling over to talk on the phone and then dropped this man at a random place and could care less .... very hasty & inadequate service then the bus was breaking down so i had to transfer my luggage to another bus and then to make things atrocious they said i did NOT bear the cost of my ticket..all this while making a primary destination ... Grey hound will be more suitable as to the mega bus for your information future purchasers.! read more

I rode mega bus several times between MD and NY. I have never had any issues with the bus being late or anything else. I especially like that there is free parking at the MD stop. A few weeks ago I took Megabus from Atlanta to KY. This was my second time taking that route. Due to miscommunication between myself and the bus driver, we thought my bag was missing. Although this caused me to panic, the bus driver was helpful in telling me what to do to try and locate my bag. Although there seems to be a slight disconnect between customer service and the actual bus drivers, customer service did what they could to assist as well. At the end of the day the bag was never missing. There was a mistake on my part in describing my luggage. A megabus employee called me from a much later stop on the route to tell me my bag was on the bus and that I could meet the bus when it traveled back to my location. She was very kind and I was so thankful. I was so glad that I had a tag on my luggage that had my contact information written on it. For my return trip, my bus was cancelled due to inclement weather. Although I didn't realize the bus was cancelled until I was already at the bus stop, Megabus had sent an email to notify me well in advance. Megabus processed my refund quickly. My experience with Megabus has been far better than my experience with other bus companies. The drivers seem to drive a lot more safely too. I will continue to use Megabus. read more
