The photos are from two different visits months apart. The first visit I had here was a bit underwhelming. The wait was long and the taco I wanted was sold out. My second visit was much better! Service was much faster, the day was more pleasant, and I got something I wanted. The servings here are HUGE. Pictures of the tacos don't do them service. The ice cream itself is good, they put toppings in the middle of the tacos as well which helps to keep them from getting "boring". The outdoor seating is pleasant too. I tried the churro taco with vanilla ice cream, Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, caramel drizzle and there was a homemade churro on top! This time I am going to try something new! But still going to get it as a taco. Also important note You can get any of the specials as one of the following: Nachos Milkshake Taco Sundae Taco is going to be the best, and most massive! There's so much hype about this place that we just had to go and try it out. I knew there was gonna be a line, but I honestly thought that the line would go faster. We probably stood in line for about a half an hour. It seemed to be extremely slow. I ordered the bougie Biscoff nachos and my boyfriend ordered peanut butter swirl topped with hot fudge and Reesie's pieces and it came to about $20 which was a little pricey but I guess that's how things are in the capital district. with that being said, was it good and would I go back? No probably not bc of the wait, but it was definitely good to try. I have to say, the people behind the counter working were extremely nice, helpful, and provided great customer service. read more

Mega Kone is huge on their servings but that's about it. The serve Perry's hard ice cream. Not sure if the soft serve is also from Perry's but I found it to be rather bland in flavor. I ordered the PB Hero Taco which is enough ice cream for two, possibly three, people but I was disappointed in the flavor. The taco shell is lackluster and the ice cream bland. Not sure if my opinion is jaded by the slow service that had us all standing in the sun for at least 20 minutes. There is a shaded area for seating but you may want to bring something to wipe down the tables and chairs as it was clear it had not been addressed in a while when we were there. read more

I've been seeing their giant ice cream tacos on facebook for awhile and finally made the trip over. There was a decent sized line but it went quickly. I like that they make the ice cream tacos to order and have non chocolate options. I only wish that they offered a smaller size because they are very big but it's perfect if you have someone to split it with and the prices are good. The ice cream was creamy and the taco shell was crispy but not hard. They have a good sized lot so parking was easy. My only complaint is I find the menu visually unappealing and hard to follow. I think they would benefit from having more created specialty tacos. They are the unique draw here. She saw a review on it and wanted to try it out. I pulled into the parking lot Saturday afternoon sometime around 6pm and there was a long line of people waiting for ice cream. Lines like this don't exist for a place that sucks. I had high hopes for Mega Kone. I usually judge an ice cream parlor by their hot fudge sundaes. However, I was in a mood for some flavor. I skipped the sundae. My wife and I got scoops of Perry's Hard Ice Cream. You can't go wrong with Perry's. I got a scoop of black raspberry and a scoop of blueberry cheesecake. I forget what she got, but hers was in a cone while mine was in a dish. Huge scoops. $14.00 for both of us. I was happy paying $7 for my portion. Definitely worth it. When she was waiting in line, she emailed me a picture of this guy holding an ice cream taco. I cropped the guy out and included the pic in this review. Look at the size of the guy's hand compared to the size of the ice cream taco. The ice cream taco is HUGE!! I was pretty full on the ice cream I got, but I'm definitely getting an ice cream taco the next time I come here, which should be pretty soon. And then after that I'll try a hot fudge sundae, unless I go for the ice cream nachos first. Disregard the one star review from 2025. The ice cream is delicious and service is top notch as well as the ambiance. Our only complaint is the cone although a small looks large,is very hollow inside my husband had to eat it with a spoon in order to eat it so it didn't fall down. This place is poor overall. Super overpriced. Ordered a medium cone with sprinkles and a 2 scoop hard ice cream in a cup. Came to $12.15. Gave the girl $22.25. She must not be able to add without her phone as she maintained I gave her $21. Why would I give her $21?? Obviously I gave her $22.25 to get the $10 back. Also the medium was super small.
