The ice cream was very creamy. My kids loved that the sprinkles were free. We got a regular size with the purple cow and lemon mousse. The purple cow (black raspberry with chocolate chips) was my favorite of the two. We appreciated the unexpectedly HUGE chunks of chocolate chips. The lemon mousse was also delicious. Hours were listed to be until 10p ... we got there at just before 8p and we're standing outside the window looking at their flavor board, we could clearly see people in the shop who looked out at us ... when they didn't approach the window, they pointed at a hand written sign (in the dark) that said they closed at 8p it was 8:03 at that point. This place was absolutely delicious. Best soft serve I've ever had. Somehow, this is much creamier/thicker than typical soft serve; it seems to melt more slowly. The weirdest thing happened today. I ordered two scoops (regular size) of English Toffee Crunch and raspberry mud pie in a cup. When the ice cream came out the person making it said mud pie and cookies and cream. So I said sorry that is not mine because that is a cone and also I had English Toffee. This person said sorry this is cookies and cream and went to go back and fix it when the other lady taking my order came this side, grabbed the cone, and flipped it in a cup and said no THIS IS the English Toffee. I just don't know why she would lie and act like that and glad I took a picture of the cookies and cream she gave me. So weird. I almost wanted to throw it out and pay them again to make the right order, especially since they don't do samples and I really was looking forward to the English Toffee. It wasn't the ultimate ice cream, but my standards are unfairly high as a result of a hundred transcendent ice cream experiences in NYC. This ice cream met expectations. Had the espresso flavor been a bit more pronounced and the texture a bit softer, it would have surpassed them. What comes through primarily is the taste of the cream and sugar. There's really nothing wrong with that. In addition to espresso, I tried a sample of the burnt sugar and butter. That title makes it sound sort of complex and special, it's really just caramel ice cream. But again, not necessarily a bad thing! There is no interior seating area, it's just window service but there's a nice patio and the surrounding location is aesthetically appealing. Another great 50's dairy bar. We pulled up to a line of waiting customers. They had all three windows going and even accept credit card at one window. I was looking for a place near my hotel with great non fat soft serve. Lickity Split not only had that but they had kiddie cones and chocolate dip. The kiddie cone is that perfect craving satisfying guilt free size. Perfecto! I found the nonfat ice cream to have a lot more flavor than Kurver Kreme. Returning to Williamstown for the first time in four years, I was surprised to find this Williams College staple relocated to the end of Spring Street. The new location proves to be a great one, as there is ample patio seating and much more room to wait in line...which you will, especially in the summer, because this place is so popular, and with good reason. I went twice in the span of two days, and all the flavors I tried were exquisite. The best of the bunch (besides the peanut butter mud pie--I can't ALWAYS choose the peanut butter flavor as the best, even if it's my favorite) was the maple oatmeal cookie ice cream, a sweet, creamy concoction loaded with giant chunks of chewy oatmeal cookies. Best of all, Lickety Splits delicious treats are affordable (at least compared to the obscene prices I'm forced to pay for quality ice cream in Boston), so you can feel free to treat yo self without breaking the bank. read more

Totally not impressed by this new location. Beside the nice patio, the counter to order is ridiculous small, and creates a huge line. Signage and board are unclear. Plus you can't see anymore where they scoop your ice cream. I personally wanna see the frozen area and pick the flavor by seeing it! Copied and pasted from a review I left on Facebook. I made the mistake of deleting the review I had left on yelp, so I'm reposting this. Decent ice cream. Terrible customer service. When we arrived the girl working the counter was spending all of her attention speaking with her friend, and took awhile to even acknowledge us. I had to move around to view the sign for ice cream flavors because her friend was blocking the view. Eventually we ordered, the chatty girl who took my order was rude, the other worker who took the other order was a tad more pleasant and scooped considerable more ice cream, even though we ordered the same thing. I was rung up by the young/ rude/ chatty girl and was trying to give her my money, but failed to notice as she was still talking with her friend. Eventually she realized that the money I held in my outstretched hand was for her to ring up. At the end of the interaction there was no pleasantries on her end, such as "thank you for stopping by." Just her returning to the conversation with her friend. I can buy the same quality ice cream elsewhere without having to deal with teenage angst, because working at an ice cream shop is apparently so hard and terrible. Update: I was about to delete this review after I received an apology via fb messenger from the girl who said she was working the night I came in. I thought it would be easy to find my review because I was the first and only person to leave a review on fb. After finding this page I saw there were a total of 10 five star reviews for this establishment, all written the same day as my review starting with the hour past I had written it. I noticed that one of the reviewers was the very girl who messaged me an apology saying she works there. I'm only assuming all of the other reviewers either work there or are friends / family with the owner. Like I said, I was about to delete my review until I saw this. I would have accepted a heartfelt apology and a promise to strive for better. I too worked when I was younger and cringe when I think about some of my customer interactions when I was young. I grew up and learned. But after seeing all of the other reviews I'm going to make an assumption that instead of making amends, the owner or manager decided it would be better to make fake reviews for their establishment. This place isn't closed, just relocated down the street a bit! Selection is relatively small compared to most ice cream places but they're all favorites or seasonally focused so I'm ok with having less to debate over! I mean, Berryline only has 4 flavors of their signature froyo at any given time so who says that this place needs more flavor options! Another bonus of this place? They serve the ice cream up at the perfect temp! This is huge. You don't need to wait for it to warm up to truly enjoy it immediately. Anyone else leave out pints of B&J's to get that perfect consistency? This stuff is already there... Love this place! I'll be back the next time I'm in the area. We were so in the mood for ice cream, and really was only to find this place in town. The place had a nice patio for sitting and it was a beautiful day. The ice cream flavors were plentiful, yet nothing really seemed interesting. I finally went with the vanilla and chocolate chip. The texture was a little gummy, and not a lot of flavor. This ice cream shop is unbelievably poor in maintenance!!! The lines tend to lead all the way onto the street, which can mean more than a thirty minute wait for ice cream! There are usually only two employees working at the shop, and they are slow to scoop or make your order. One of the employees is particularly rude, I am not going to state her name, but she was rude to me and my friends. She almost even yelled at one of my friends, which is definitely not okay as an employee of a store. read more
