I'm always on the lookout for these ice cream/food stands so I decided to give Martha's a try. With that being said, I ordered an assortment of food. I ordered chicken tenders, fries, mac and cheese, and a hot dog. To start, the chicken tenders were excellent. They were light, airy, and crispy. Likewise, the fries were delicious. They were hand cut, crispy, and tasted homemade. On the other hand, the mac and cheese was mediocre. To explain, it was really cheesy, but it was so heavy that you couldn't eat very much without getting sick. Similarly, the hot dog was average. To enumerate, the hot dog itself had good flavor, but the meat sauce was ridiculously sweet. After that, I ordered a chocolate shake for dessert and it was great. To breakdown, the shake was thin, flavorful, and the ice cream tasted homemade. It was simply a good shake. In a few words, Martha's is an enjoyable food stand with great chicken tenders, fries, and shakes.
After being in Lake George all day, we ended the day here. This place was bumpppin and I completely understand why.The whole place has such a fun, old-school ice cream shop feel. I haven't had a coconut dip in so long and it immediately took me back because I used to work at an ice cream shop and basically lived off coconut dip. I felt like a kid again bahaha. The banana chocolate twist dipped in coconut was so damn good. And the sprinkle options?! You could literally be here all day trying to decide. The line moves quick so do not let it scare you and there are tons of places to sit. Such a good way to end a full day in Lake George!
Martha's has the best soft serve ice cream on earth, hands down. I am experienced at eating soft serve and feel qualified to write this review. I didn't try any of the non-ice cream foods but just get ice cream here- trust me. They also serve slices of ice cream cake which is pretty cool. The team is FAST with several windows open at once. You can go to their instagram to check the available flavors in a monthly calendar. The chocolate + PB twist is incredible.
They have a variety of soft serve flavors and lots of dips and toppings. The lines were extremely long but moved fairly quickly. We loved the atmosphere, my daughter said it felt like she was in an old movie. I had the raspberry cream swirl which was light and yummy! Serving sizes are big and prices are reasonable!
Note to self: get the kids the kiddie size cone. Good gawd it is a lot of ice cream! I forwent lunch to have this in its place. We always stop here when vacationing in the area. Yum!
Visiting family in the area, we went to Martha's for lunch. I opted for the chicken tenders and fries. Both were delicious and I have to say I have a decent appetite and could have shared my fries! There was so much food, we did not have room for ice cream! Tragic! The lines were not bad, the service fast and friendly, and, if you know me at all, you know I love the atmosphere of outdoor, roadside grills. The prices are high, as you would expect from a summer tourist restaurant. But, if you are wise... share the ample portions and save room for ice cream.
This is a great place to stop after a day at the Great Escape. The ice cream lanes are longer than the food lanes. The poutine was great. Wish the cheese was a bit warmer. Service was fast and friendly. The grounds are dirty and covered in sprinkles and ketchup but that's kinda the ambiance of a place like this. We would def go back!
We will start with the ice creams are ridiculously huge! They have tons of flavors and toppings. The lines were very very long the night we went. And although the ice cream was good, I don't know if it was worth the very long lines. And it is only soft serve. I think a lot of the hype is that it is right across from the amusement park so they get a large volume of customers. If you are soft serve fan, I'm sure you will enjoy Martha's. But for me I'm a fan of the hard scoop ice cream that I can get any of the Stewart's in New York.
Always a stop on our trips to lake George. . We make a straight drive to lake George and have Martha's as our first meal before check in for a quick bite and then dessert.
Queensbury, NY (Lake George) - no visit to Lake George is complete without a stop at Martha's Dandee Creme, a local favorite and classic spot to get your ice cream and fast food fix, featuring 37 homemade soft serve flavors, shaved ice, and grilled & fried goodies. Big portions, reasonable prices. This ice cream shack has got history and retains a great deal of its retro charm. Sure, nothing here is that healthy, but summertime sadness doesn't exist when it's snuffed out under a dangerous pile of Martha's Loaded and a milkshake with whipped cream & butterscotch drizzle on top, natch!
What a difference a change in seasons makes. Coming here on a weekday in the middle of September and there was plenty of parking, plenty of outdoor seating available, and only TWO ice cream windows open for sales. But this was not a problem as there were not even enough customers to create a line. In the past, we somehow always happened to visit on days when coffee flavor was not available. So, today's visit was purposely timed when it WAS available. My wife ordered a medium dish of the Coffee flavor, and I ordered a medium dish of Mocha ($5.30 each). I was semi-surprised to discover that Martha's took the easy way out by making mocha using a twist of chocolate and coffee. Well, at least I didn't need to ask my wife for a taste of her coffee. Both flavors continue to be rich and creamy. But I still would have preferred more prominent flavor in both the coffee and chocolate.
A cold brisk day but isn't it the first day of spring? What better way than to celebrate with ice cream and my oldest niece. I am NEVER disappointed at this place. Always a great selection and perfect service. You can never go wrong. But had to sit in the car to eat bc it was FREEZING outside.
A waitress at Lizzie Keays had actually recommended Martha's to us the night before. I smiled and thanked her but mentally dismissed it--it felt a bit far out of the way. The next day, we happened to drive right past and suddenly realized, "Oh wow, that's the place she mentioned." We pulled in for an impromptu treat, and the kiddo-in-tow was super happy we did. Martha's Dandee Cream is one of those Lake George icons you just have to experience. It sits right across from Six Flags, and it's a seasonal (summer) cult classic that draws big crowds. Don't be put off by the lines--there's a huge parking lot, and they've got a crazy number of service windows going at once, so things move faster than you'd expect. The menu is big, with plenty of flavors and combinations, and the portions are almost comical in size. Seriously--get a small, or at least glance over at someone else's cone and ask, "Hey, what size is that?" before you commit to a medium or large. Everything we tried was rich, creamy, and exactly the kind of ice cream you want on a summer evening. More than just dessert, Martha's has that timeless roadside stand feel. You can easily imagine it being a lifelong favorite for locals and vacationers alike--part of growing up in the area and creating fond summer memories. It's not fancy, but that's the point: this is simple, classic, roadside summer ice cream done right.
Martha's is one of our must stop places in the Northeast. This was probably my 6th time at Martha's. They always have many flavor options. The price is great and the sizes are mammoth. Service is typically excellent and friendly. They have some tables and chairs outside which has a canopy so you're covered, rain or shine. I used their restroom for the first time and that is even well-maintained. Wish we lived closer but it's probably good for my health that we don't read more
This place has the most delicious ice cream I have ever tasted. I had the I believe it's called cream cheese soft serve so rich. I definitely can't wait to come back and try some more so many flavors. Staff was very patient as we tried to decide what ice cream we wanted. But once we decided they got it together in no time. Not sure if there was an indoor facility to sit down in and eat, but there are picnic tables and a huge parking lot to sit and enjoy whatever you ordered whether it was a burger and fries or a deliciously rich, luxurious ice cream. read more

Perfect, classic summer spot for a treat. The ice creams here are huge! We learned that you can have multiple scoops depending on the size, and we were able to choose two separate flavors for the small cone. I went for the summer fruit options and really enjoyed the balance of tartness and sweetness of the Dole Cherry. My husband's birthday cake didn't quite seem very birthday cakey (it was more like a sweet cream), but he enjoyed it nonetheless. Definitely worth a stop in the summertime if you're passing by! read more
Perfect ice cream stop! I love the fountains as well. This place is huge and offers a wide variety of flavors and toppings. Very quick service. It's got plenty of seating outdoors. It's right across from six flags in Queensbury NY. The ice cream really hit the spot. I just got a vanilla soft serve cone dipped in chocolate and it was the perfect summer cone. read more
Nice young ladies at the window let us have several samples of delicious soft-serve ice cream at this well known place. My friend settled on chocolate vanilla swirl and I chose pistachio. I ordered a small and decided maybe a medium was better....... I should have stuck with the small. The medium serving was HUGE! And delish! The chocolate was really chocolaty but I'm trying to get outside the box of chocolate everything. Next time I'll get chocolate. It was great! read more

The ice cream is the best in the area!! I have come here with snow still on the ground, well it's raining. (Worth the trip.)They were kinda busy because the weather is nice. We got service fairly fast! (It's kinda cold outside.) I look forward to going to The gill at Martha's next time. read more
Solid spot but if you have a soft serve place near you, this place is nothing spectacular. I guess the hype is the sizes? They are very big though if you have an appetite. Rotation of discord is cool, along with a nice dip selection. Lines moved fast. read more
My boss and I stopped at Martha's Dandee Creme on our way home from a conference. We met the colleague that recommended the place and his coworker. Service was excellent, polite, great recommendations and fast! The place is fairly large and has a nice outdoor seating area, cool retro vibe to it. I knew the ice cream was going to be great but I wasn't prepared for how much I would like the food. I had buffalo chicken tenders over poutine with real cheese curds! The mix of flavors was delicious! Truly quality ingredients! Even though the food was substantial and filling, I couldn't leave without the ice cream. I impulsively saw pistachio flavor and ordered it, typically I would have weighed the pros and cons of every flavor on the menu but they had me at pistachio. The fact that it was a natural tasting soft serve pistachio was a real bonus! Martha's is a great place, I look forward to checking it out again! read more
Who says you can't have ice cream in a fake spring time. One day it's in the high 60's the next low 30's. Snow still on the ground but I needed to get my ice cream fix on. It's been a long winter and I'm so ready for summer and ice cream joints. This place is still great though rather expensive. 3 smalls and I medium in cups came out to $26. You do get a lot but there are others putting out same great quality ice cream for less. Service was super fast and super friendly. This place gets jammed pack during summer months being so close to 6 flags. But the lines do move and it's worth it. read more

Loved Martha's Dandee Creme. Stopped by for lunch. We ordered kid's meals and were surprised by how large the portions were. There are windows for hot food and ice cream. We placed our order and it seemed like it was ready within minutes. Efficient service. The food was great, classic chicken fingers and fries. Served hot and fresh. Plenty of seating. The bathrooms were just around the corner from the seating area, very clean. I truly regret not getting ice cream as well. What a mistake! read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! The ice cream portions here are absolutely wild!!!! My partner had a large cone and I had a medium cone. Neither of us could finish them because they were so big. But we had to get them for the picture!!!! The staff is very friendly. I wish I got to try the food but I didn't get a chance too- but next time I will! I had a birthday cake swirl with chocolate and rainbow sprinkles. Absolutely delicious. If you have a craving for soft serve ice cream, come to Martha's read more
