The service was great, these kids knew how to serve ice cream and were super friendly. I have to try a sundae everywhere and this caramel sundae did not disappoint. Most peanut toppings are ok but this place does something crazy with their peanuts. It tasted like they candy coated them or something. Super soft and out of this world delicious. The ice cream was creamy and full of flavor. One negative even though the business section on yelp says they take credit cards is incorrect. Unless there systems were down it's a cash only deal. I got lucky because even though it's the height of Washington County Fair next door we drove by during a lull. Home made ice cream in all the expected permutations--banana split, sundae, ice cream soda, milk shake etc--as well as cones of every size and description, and fairly priced. Also, unlike ICM in Saratoga, they serve food. No grilled items but a handful of sandwiches/wraps if you need more than ice cream. I got the small size Fort Miller, I think, turkey and ham and cheese and Russian dressing, and it was more than a meal for $6.49. The service is young and disjointed, which seems to be a mandatory for ice cream stands, and the wait is magnified if you have a food item, so enjoy the sunshine and company. read more

Summary- Ice cream lives up to the hype. We went for fathers day so I could buy my Dad a cone. Holy crap the ice cream was amazing. I liked it because it's not so rich, some ice cream places it just gets too heavy/dense/flat, I prefer my ice cream to be more fluffy and The Ice Cream Man seems too have that balance right. I got the coffee, it was very solid. My dad got one scoop chocolate one I can't remember, both were excellent. My wife got a banana ice cream w/ walnut & chocolate chip. She ordered the BLT with Cream of Potato soup and I got the Bovine Mooey Gooey sandwich w/ potato salad and small mac n cheese. Both sandwiches were good and the soup and PS were also good, wasn't a fan of the mac n cheese. It tasted fine, just a little dry for my liking. As for the Ice Cream? Dear Lord it's outstanding. Ordered the SF/FF Raspberry Ripple and she got a scoop of the Danish Cream and Orange/Pineapple. They were both just outstanding, hard to believe mine was sugar free as it was almost too sweet for me to eat. But I managed. :) Ice Cream portions are a good value for the price. I'm old enough to remember just how good the ice cream was at the old Schuyler Farms shop in downtown Schuylerville. This is just as good, maybe better. I've never bothered to get sundaes or any other specialty items here. The ice cream is just so good, why dilute the experience. The previous time I had been here I got their pumpkin ice cream which was spicy and flavorful. This time, I wanted a "cheesecake" flavor, so I got a "small" cone ($2.95, and they're NOT that small) of chocolate amaretto cheesecake ice cream. It had a rich chocolatey color and a very strong amaretto flavor. The consistency was perfect, rich and creamy. I think I may have just found a new favorite ice cream. read more

This is mind blowing ice cream. I'm usually not a huge ice cream fan, some flavors can really taste artificial and without good cream it's not as rich, that is absolutely not the case here. First off, I like their style, when I ask for a sample I don't want a baskin robbins mini spoon, I want a freaking spoonful of ice cream- seriously, only a few of their samples is enough to fix any ice cream craving. The ice creams are all insanely rich, the flavors are very clean and balanced. Now the sundae, I really can't do it justice. The throwdown sundae, I got it with pumpkin ice cream instead of vanilla, comes with warm apples, real whipped cream, nuts, and, of course, a cherry. This was absolute bliss. If the apples were in a pie, it would be some of the best pie I have ever had. The portion was huge but each bite had good balance. I usually don't like the texture pairing of whipped cream and ice cream, but with the apples and saltiness of the nuts the whipped cream was nice. Overall this place has ridiculously good ice cream and is a perfect stop after a day at the track. read more

The does seem to be one young teenager who manages the others who when we were there two weekends ago only was serving people at the inside counter, whom he evidently knew and who didn't have to wait in line. I had high expectations, and they were met. Skip the sundaes. In fact, skip all toppings. You are going for maximum ice cream variety on this trip. Get as many scoops as you can handle, of as many different flavors as possible. The menu rotates through 300 flavors, so what is there one day might not re-appear for a long while. I don't live near, so I can't visit often, but if I did, you know I would be eating and checking off those rotating flavors on an Ice Cream Man flavor checklist. (Note: This doesn't exist, but it should. Think of the return business from flavor completists!) As a lover of variety and flavor combos, they've already got me in their corner, so there is almost no use in describing the ice cream itself, since so many other people have. I had chocolate and Forest Gump (vanilla ice cream with chocolates filled alternately with caramel, raspberry, and peanut butter, which, it took me several minutes to realize, refers to the line about chocolates "you never know what you're gonna get") and they were both excellent. read more

Hit and miss with this place. If we go for ice cream, it's great. If we try to get food items, let's just say we won't anymore. Our subs we ordered were a disgusting mess. I don't even think the woman knew what she was doing to be honest. The bread was microwaved with the cheese and it got greasy and the bread at first was mushy and then got rock solid because of the microwave. It would of looked similar if someone just threw everything on the paper from ten feet away and wrapped it up and said here you go. We basically had to throw them out because they were so bad. Some of the staff has some attitudes but young girls usually do so that's kind of a given that they would rather be anywhere else then at work. Today I got tomato soup that was so sauce-like I took it home to add diced tomatoes and pour on top of macaroni; the oyster crackers were literally rancid. To the horror of my dining companion, I had to spit them out into my napkin, and when I politely told the staff they should check the expiration dates on the batch because there was something very wrong with them, their reply was, "Oh, we don't sell a lot of soup, so they're probably really old" - Uh yeah. Then, my grilled cheese sandwich arrived: The rye bread was a pale shade of green (though it tasted OK), and the cheese was still cold! My advice: stick with the ice cream.
