We rarely had to leave the house and grounds other than to go to dinner. But a few days in, my gal seemed to get a cold. After work we checked where to go nearby for some cough drops, and since we had wanted to see the general store anyhow, we buzzed over there. As we walked in, I was impressed immediately at the authenticity of the place. It was a little too nice as we walked in. By that I mean its has excellent upkeep so many part of the place were much nicer than you might think of a older, classic store. The combination of a old general store with plenty of love put into it to keep it attractive was great. We were there far longer than a quick pop in that we planned. In fact we saw the cool kitchen they had set up, and we got a couple hot sandwiches to go. Great call. We got some snacks, some cough drops, and some very good sandwiches. We didn't know when we planned this trip that it was going to lead to wanted to be back very soon. and one of the small reasons, is the Original General Store.

He even sent me an email to apologize for the way he handled it - 2 days and 2 unreturned phone calls later. But obviously an apology means nothing when my friend's 4 young children are waiting for their special 'Christmas surprise' from Auntie Kim that I told them about - repeatedly! - that they're now not going to get. :( Shameful. They allowed me to use their phone, cell phone, WiFi, and whatever else so I could call AAA. After calling AAA, I was allowed to stand in their sugar shack off of Brandon Mt. Road for about 5 1/2 hours and they talked to me and made me feel at ease. They taught me all about the health benefits of maple syrup and I learned so many valuable lessons that day as I was riding back in the tow truck 3 1/2 hours back to Southern New Hampshire. I was telling everyone that I know about this generous and kind woman who owns this company who I'll never forget. I hope that this review is read by everyone who comes to this page.
