Tastee Freez has been a fixture in my community that I've been enjoying since before I could say the words 'ice cream. I appreciate that they source their milk from Meadowbrook Farms. They are quite generous with the portions!

This is a great local ice cream shop in the Albany area! I always get their tornados - reminds me of a DQ ice cream. They don't have any indoor seating, but they do have outdoor tables and benches. They also do not have any hard ice cream. I got the chocolate tornado with candy and hot fudge on top!

Great ice cream, chili dogs and milkshakes!! They have so many flavors of soft serve it's hard to choose just one! There is no seating except for a bench so go order and eat in the car. Cash only, I think.

Very good! Finally, it seems their service and ice cream is back to where it used to be. Don't know what happened for that one season but it's good to see things back to normal.

Every time I am in New York I come here! It's what I look forward too every trip our family has been coming here for soo many years now and after my wife and I moved away every single time we go back home the whole family comes here. It's the best. Some great laughs and great ice cream oh and don't forget the hot dog Couldn't tell you whether the staff is friendly every time but for me since coming here they get our orders done fast and that's all we can ask for

Tastee Freeze is OPEN, it must be spring! This harbinger of the end of winter is a welcome sign to Delmartians!! Reliably opening on March 1st, it's comforting to us all , like the first crocus pushing up through dirty snow. Even the TU gave it its due this morning : https://www.timesunion.com/news/article/Following-death-of-beloved-patriarch-ice-cream-16003695.php#photo-20707766 "I grew up in the back of the store," Sheldon said. "When I walk in there, I'm filled with 40 years of memories and my Dad's sayings. It's both incredibly helpful and difficult, as you can imagine." One of those sayings: "Ice cream is always there for people in the good times and the bad times." Someone should collect the stories...I'm sure they will be told this summer around the picnic tables near Tastee Freeze.

Cash only. Prices aren't cheap, but oh so worth an occasional treat. Good thing I live in NYC, or I'd get obese by frequenting this business way too often. Family run shop. Always a ton of customers enjoying the treats on premises (a few tables for sitting). Young to old, everyone delights in delicious ice cream that unites people from all walks of life. Ice cream fans--look no further--this is your heaven on earth. I wasn't prepared for how amazing a simple vanilla cone can taste. The soft serve was not too soft, which I hate. It didn't melt right away, which was good, so I was able to savor every bit for a long while. The "small" cone portion was enough for sharing amid two people. We also got a special brownie fudge sundae. Also great for sharing--the portion is gigantic! The brownies were warm and soft. The fudge was thick and chocolatey, none of that liquidish supermarket atrocity that mars the name of fudge. Definitely a spot-on treat that was too high in calories but made my day. Can't wait to be back in the area for some more ice creaaaaaam!

$6.25 for an ice cream sundae with apple pie filling, whipped cream, and an apple cider donut?!? Yes please! The ice cream options were vanilla, chocolate, vanilla/chocolate swirl, pumpkin, and vanilla/pumpkin swirl. Plenty of parking spaces available and they had some benches set up so you can enjoy your ice cream outside. Super friendly service and I'm sure I will be back again soon!

Slightly overcrowded, but it's a decent place to get ice cream. They should have a bigger sign that says only cash and that they have an ATM in the back of their store. They do offer a wide selection of flavors, and if you have vegan or gluten allergy, they have options.

Love Jim's! Always great service and food! Little tip- bring cash, but they do have an atm if needed. Wonderful Delmar establishment!

This is the best soft serve fat free frozen yogurt anywhere. The ice cream is great as well, but for those of us who have to cut out the saturated fat, the yogurt is every bit as good. It is firm yet creamy and sweet and reminds me of the days when I could eat frozen custard. You'll love the soft ice cream but if you need the option, the fat free yogurt is every bit as good and it's good for you! And for s special treat, get a Butterscotch Sundae with frozen yogurt, but you'll need a large one because they're just that good.

It's cash only. In 2024. Anyone can get a credit card reader. There's really no excuse for being so behind the times

Nice spot for a coffee near Washington Park! I stopped in…read moreon a weeknight as I'm one of the few people who drink caffeine in the evening and was looking for a coffee shop that was open later. They close at 7pm on weeknights, which is great. I love how beautiful the cafe is. There are tons of tables and good wifi too. I ordered an iced mocha, which was great, and the barista was helpful and friendly. I do wish they had a specialty coffee latte and some more dessert options. There were several savory pastries available when I went and I was having a major sweet tooth moment but thankfully the iced mocha hit the spot!

Albany's Washington Park is a gem in itself but it's also fortunate to have a number of great cafes…read moreand restaurants nearby. Among the more recent arrivals is Java Cafe on Madison Ave. It offers a nice variety of coffees, teas, other beverages and baked goods, all in a relaxing setting. What's more, they tell me that small dogs are welcome. I stopped in recently after taking a stroll in the park with my West Highland Terrier. I was surprised when they told me that my little dog could come in, too. I ordered the most wonderful hot chai latte with coconut milk and a dash of cinnamon. Since I was staying, it was served up in a stoneware cup with saucer. I also ordered a potato borek, which they explained was a small Turkish-style mashed potato pie. It was good. My friend ordered a delicious large house coffee with cream. The cafe is small but inviting with exposed brick walls. There's nice furniture and interesting wall art, including a banjo hung from one wall. But my favorite is the amoeba-shaped full length mirror with the words,"You look amazing," painted above it. How's that for giving customers encouragement? My little dog stood under our table and smiled. She was well behaved. There were several other customers but most of them looked lost- in -concentration over their laptops. It was a delicious and very calming experience for us after a nice walk in the park. Thanks, Java Cafe.
