I am a woman recovering from hip\femur surgery using a walker and living alone. Mega thorocoated my basement for 3100. Attached photos show items dumped on top of each other, unfinished backyard staircase walls, stairs stained with thorocoat, grey slate ledge removed and replaced with white cement over grey patio, stains on patio, 2 hoses and 3 brooms still on floor covered with cement. In addition, hose is connected to boiler and contaminated radiator water was used to mix cement. Multiple calls were made and he finally showed up to see the mess, laughed at me and left me in basement and never came back. Given my health situation and the fact that I live alone, it would have been a kind gesture for them to rectify this. read more

Wildlife was getting in my ceiling through our neighbors connected property, so we hired mega construction to open the ceiling, seal the entrance and repair the ceiling. The team showed up punctually every day, worked incredibly hard and never cut corners. The job site was immaculate at the end of each workday, and all round, they were a lovely cheerful crew. Mega Construction did a huge job on our 4 story Brownstone building. The work involved cleaning and repointing the bricks on the side of the building and redoing the brownstone. Nazim is the owner of the company and he was almost always onsite supervising the work He installed a bridge as protection for pedestrian traffic while the work was being done and used scaffolding to get to the top floors of the building. His workers were punctual arriving for work and extremely polite when dealing with anyone going in and out of the building The job was completed in a timely manner and any changes we requested were agreed to. Contractors we have used in the past would take forever to finish the job but that was not the case with Mega Construction- they had people on the job daily and finished ahead of schedule They did a great job and we will be using them for some more work in the Spring!! read more

We recently had some extensive exterior work done with Mega Construction and are happy with the solid results. They stripped paint from and repointed the brick facade of our townhouse, resurfaced the lintels, reset some bluestone in the front and also repainted the railings on the front stairs. They're also going to rebuild a chimney. Nazim, the owner, and his crew are reliable and pleasant; Nazim does a lot of work in the neighborhood so is often on site. They were conscientious about cleaning up each day. Their strong point is masonry. I would work with them again. read more

My Park Slope brownstone needed the front stairs resurfaced and areas of the brownstone which had chipped off needed to be restored. The contractor who did brownstone work for me in the past was unreliable in showing up for the job and careless regarding onsite safety and supervision, I did not consider rehiring him and did an extensive search through many reviews of contractors and interviewed at least 6 contractors. By far the overall best reviews were those of Mega Construction. The price quoted for the job was reasonable in that it was neither the highest nor the lowest bid. Nazim, the owner of the company has some difficulty with English and it was necessary, after discussing the scope of the work, to give him specific examples of what i wanted included in contracts for the work. In this, as in every part of the work process, he was agreeable and easy to work with. We are in a landmarked area and he took care of obtaining the landmark permits. His crew, who largely did not speak English well, were courteous and conscientious in attempting to keep the worksite neat and relatively passable for tenants living in the building who needed to walk over wet concrete and wet brownstone cement. I suppose I expected them to build a wooden staircase over the wet cement. However in thinking about it, I realized that would have added considerable cost to the job. Instead of covering the stairs, pieces of wood were placed over the stairs and the tenants walked on the pieces of wood placed on the wet cement. Remarkably, this worked well and was free of problems. While they worked of the front stairs and the ornamental areas where brownstone had chipped off, a painter working in the top floor apartment advised me of leaks to the top floor ceiling. I asked Nazim for an estimate to resurface the roof. Again, the estimate was reasonable and as he was onsite so I had him do that as well. And then...a long ignored problem of chipped concrete flooring in the cellar and much needed Thoroseal paint on walls. I hired them to do that and they did a fine job there as well! In all, as I was pleased with their work as they proceeded through a job, I hired them for further work. The finished work is highly professional. Needless to say, there was some disruption to myself and my tenants while the work was being done. However, Nazim was largely onsite throughout the work and saw to it that the work was completed in a timely fashion and disruptions were minimized and even more important, he supervised his workers and maintained worksite safety. I recommend him without reservation for all of the types of masonry, roofing, and carpentry he performed on my brownstone. read more

This is second time I've used them, first for the front of a brownstone two years ago and just now to repoint and waterproof the back wall. I like the owner, Nazim, very much. I'm pleased with both jobs and another contractor even complimented the quality of the work restoring the front. Last summer we had Nazim and his crew at Mega Construction pour complicated concrete footings for a new deck, build several brick walls, level ground and place flagstone, and pour the form for a small fish pool. On all fronts they did a great job, in addition to being fairly priced. They were timely with their work and flexible to the schedule of the other contractors involved. Their workers were efficient, friendly, and cleaned up the site well. As we were working, other small side projects came up- plumbing repairs, skim coating, and so on, and Nazim took the additional work on willingly- and again at reasonable rates. Mega Construction is run by a gentleman named Nazim. We hired him to do a concrete stucco on the back of our wood frame home in Brooklyn. He showed up promptly to give an estimate and the price was reasonable. (having gotten many other estimates) He arrived when he said he would and the job got under way. I have to confess, I was probably the client from hell. I changed my mind constantly. What started as a two week job stretched in to months. Nazim was patient and went with the changes. (of course I paid $$ for them - but he was reasonable and willing to negotiate) The work was done well - if a bit messy on the job site -- and the job turned out fantastic. I contacted the owner and he was supposed to meet us to give us a quote for work we wanted done on a house we are buying. He never showed with no call, I had spoken to him the day before. When I called to find out where he was he made up some excuses and then tried to get us to meet the following day. I had rushed after work, picked up my kids and got there only to find out he had never had any intention of coming. What customer service, his work may not be any better. read more

We recently hired Mega to re-do our front stoop and facade on our 'brownstone' house. They have completed the work and did a really good job - although this should last for many years so really only time will tell. This is a messy business and they did great at cleaning up after every day they worked. It also took a lot of time, but this is a good thing because you want the cement to completely dry on each coat before doing the next step. We also had a small problem and they came back to fix it in a timely manner even after they were fully paid. In the end the stoop and front of the house look FANTASTIC!! read more
