carnitas tacos, rice and beans (minus cheese).
Kim P.

We chose Meduca's due to the Yelp rating. My fellow Yelper's led me to the right place!! Fantastic cup and salsa. I had the 2 taco plate with carnitas tacos. Excellent tacos!!! Service was fast and friendly!! Highly recommend!!

We came here for lunch while spending a weekend in Cambria after watching a protest rally as the restaurant was across the street.. it's a small what appears to be a family owned restaurant. We all thought the food was good although it took longer than expected and one of the 4 dishes had to be remade as it didn't have everything as ordered. It's always nice to find a never heard of restaurant and support what feels like family owned.

Steak Quesidillia. Fresh ingredients and shell toasted just right. Daughter picky eater but this was a hit.

Server was very attentive and kind. Food was quick and delicious. Perfect start to our day.

Non-itemized bill from Medusa's Cafe

Enchiladas (beef & cheese) were quite good but small. Nice red sauce, refried beans and rice too. Salsa Ranchero and chips were free and excellent. Waiter was very gracious. One big issue was no itemized bill. We simply got a check for just over $38. I don't know how much I was charged for anything. He forgot my side of guacamole. Was I charged for that? I put down an AMEX and got back my signature copy which was now over $39. Was that for the cost of using a credit card? The tip options were calculated for you and started with only a 10% option, but was based on the total bill including state tax. That shouldn't be the case. Your tip is generally based on the pretax amount. . Still, nice the tax didn't begin with the 18% option and go up to 25% like a lot of Bay Area restaurants. I'd go again but ask for an itemized bill next time.

Picked up breakfast burritos and they were delicious! Not a long wait to call in an order.

Very tasty food. We got the lunch special. Yummy. Combo plates are too expensive though. Place is very casual with friendly service.

Yes, a hole in the wall, local's place. Ambiance more of fast food place, food just okay and staff mediocre.

The service was good too. I also like that they're open while other places are closed. Overall a great experience. It's a clean, beautiful restaurant. Side note: it was my hubby's bday and they sang to him and put on a sombrero. It was great. I also ordered the homemade flan. It's so good. I like that it's not overly heavy dessert. Service started out as a lot of "I'll be with you in a minute," although once our server got to us, she was very nice and personable. She was honestly the saving grace of the visit! I was surprised by the prices. A burrito was about $17 for beans, rice, lettuce and guacamole, with the meat costing extra. I added carne asada, which was tough, bland and tasted like a pretty cheap cut of meat. I've had much better carne asada from the local carnicería. I also ordered the $14 top-shelf margarita. It was definitely strong, so no complaints there, but it was a little too tart and could have used some triple sec or something to round it out. What really hurt the experience was the cleanliness. The windowsill right next to our table was covered with dead flies. Not exactly the kind of tableside scenery you're hoping for during dinner. Nice server, strong margarita, but between the prices, average food and lack of cleanliness, I wouldn't be in much of a hurry to come back.

We genuinely look forward to it. Their breakfast burritos are some of our favorites anywhere. Their salsas are amazing too and always complete the meal. We've also had the al pastor tacos, and they're excellent, but if it's your first visit, don't skip the breakfast burrito. We were politely asked to leave. No fault of the restaurant whatsoever--it was just one of those surreal moments that perfectly captured the beginning of that crazy chapter in history. Fast forward six years... We randomly picked this place for dinner and, as soon as we walked in, we both looked at each other and said, "Wait... haven't we been here before?" Then it hit us. This was that restaurant. Apparently, we had unfinished business. This time, the universe finally let us eat. I ordered the Ortega burger with sweet potato fries, my wife had the patty melt with onion rings, and we took an order of linguini home for later. Every single bite was fantastic. The food was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely worth the six-year wait. The service was just as impressive. Karina was our waitress, and she was attentive, friendly, charming, and made us feel genuinely welcome. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommend this place. I ordered the fish and chips along with a cup of clam chowder. The chowder was very good, and the fish and chips were good too, but I was a little disappointed to learn the fish was Alaskan rather than something local. I also appreciated that the manager stopped by our table to ask how everything was. That kind of thing goes a long way and made it feel like they cared about the experience. The only odd part was the portioning on the fish and chips. The pieces were more nugget-sized than what I normally picture with fish and chips. My son received five fairly good-sized pieces, while I got four noticeably smaller ones. I could have said something, but since I had also ordered the chowder, I had plenty to eat and didn't bother. (2 ) available 4- top tables open, but a party of 6 was told 30 minute wait. They declined and left. - A person came in asking for take out only to be told they were "inundated and not taking take out orders at this time." So far this is a management issue - these ladies were giving and needed 1 more server to keep them caught up- lots of business waking out the door due to poor scheduling- what a shame. One person behind the bar and 2 dining room servers would make this successful. It's too easy. - Food came out in a timely manner. Gary's pasta - 10/10 Clam chowder - 10/10 definitely homemade. My wedge- a little pricey but 8/10 only because the dressing came out clearly of a jar and no blue cheese crumbles. (Little things make a huge difference) - Moscow Marlin drink 10/10 - Another walk out. Lots of empty glasses at the bar. Would we come back? Only with these 2 servers. ( I think we got lucky) Definitely not on a Friday and If it's this much of a mess on a Friday, I can only imagine what a Saturday would look like. Cute place with amazing clam chowder and pasta.

And the onion rings were pretty boring. I don't think they make them there, I am not sure about that, though. But they had kind of a generic look and feel to them, but the problem was they had zero flavor. Like nobody put salt on them when they took them out of the fryer. That's the first thing you do when you pull something out of a fryer, you season it. The server was nice enough, but they have a thing now where if you ask for water, they want to sell you a bottle of water. I get that things are tough for restaurants, but I almost rather pay a little more for the sandwich and get water, if you know what I mean. I'm no food expert, or running a restaurant expert, these are just my reactions as a local who stops in here fairly regularly. I think if the folks who run this place feel like there's any value to my little thoughts, they would be easy to fix and wouldn't cost anything at all really. I've been coming here for years, and I want these folks to do well.
