(All this isn't even my FULL review: http://bit.ly/dlOGz8) The main thing people talk about when they review Medithrive is the atmosphere, and I must say, I really wasn't impressed. Not to say the atmosphere isn't well dressed, but painting the walls burnt orange isn't enough to make me a repeat customer. I'm a hard sell: I don't care about gimmicks (free programs like yoga, 4 gram eighths, etc), all I care about are medicine quality, knowledgeable staff, and an accurate and organized menu. These are the only criteria I base my ratings on, though I try to always list perks that are available from each dispensary in my reviews. The menu is on a video screen, which is cool, but it was divided into 2 sections instead of 3: "indica/ hybrid" and "sativa/hybrid". *RED FLAG* I still wanna try this place out and get my freebies for my first time (only the edible for the Sticky coupon, they were out of pre-rolls for the first time visitors), but I am in shock at the prices. I mean, I've looked at their menu on StickyGuide before, so I knew in advance that their eighths are all 4 grams, which of course raises the prices, and it says that all the pure indicas they have are $60 an eigth. I told the budtender that I do not pay Los Angeles prices for buds in SF, that I'm seeking a heavy indica for my insomnia (and also anxiety), and that I do not like sativas at all because they only make insomnia and anxiety worse. I was saying this because I was prepared to thank her for her time and head to another dispensary for some top-quality pure indica at a reasonable price. This was after she suggested several hybrids for my insomnia stating the "uplifting" effect as a benefit. It's a huge peeve of mine when I tell a budtender that I am treating insomnia/ anxiety and they reccomend something "uplifting," like that's a selling point to someone that can't fucking SLEEP and is totally neurotic all the time. She looked at me like she understood my needs exactly, nodded her head, and said that Ron Burgundy has the heavy effect I'm looking for and will help my insomnia. I still wasn't really buying it, but I must admit that I was intrigued by the 4-way genetic cross of different purples. I know purple doesn't nessecarily mean pure indica as well, but I figured I would try this anyway if she thinks it will work. $50 for 4 grams is not bad at all! 3am that night; my brain is still wide awake from the stresses of the day and the anxieties of tomorrow. I smoked 2 bong-loads of Ron Burgundy in quick successtion to get an intesne sedative effect and laid down in bed. 4am; my brain is still racing as if I were dead sober. I trusted the budtender, and she sold me medicine that does not fit my needs at all. Today, I tried calling Medithrive several times only to reach a constant busy signal. I went to Medithrive with the remainder of my eighth and spoke with a gentleman about my situation with hopes that I could perhaps return it or exchange for an actual indica. The first thing he said is that Ron Burgungy is actually a pure indica, to which I replied that their own StickyGuide menu names Ron Burgundy as an indica-dominant hybrid (http://bit.ly/a4ZuSr). Another gentleman said that all of their indica-dominant hybrids are good for insomnia. O _ O Are you kidding me? If that's what you think, you are seriously undereducated on the uses of indica and sativa and you obviously don't know shit about how insomnia works. Indica dominant hybrids are NOT good enough for insomnia... it's like suggesting a sleeping pill that contains a percentage of caffeiene. My insomnia doesn't say, "oh, well that's 70% indica, so good enough! Let's go to bed!" That's not how it works. It's more like, "well well well! it looks like there's some sativa in here! Let's keep on thinking and being wide awake and anxious all night!!!" If you believe that a hybrid is good enough for somebody with insomnia, then you yourself must have only experienced some OCCASIONAL SLEEPLESSNESS in your life. Must be nice. This is not a stupid mistake, this is a huge deal! When dealing with medical cannabis and medical cannabis patients, it is the partial responsibility of the dispensary and the budtenders to know the basic different between indica and sativa, what they treat, and provide the patient with the proper medicine. In my opinion, Medithrive is the best dispensary in the entire state. They carry a wide variety of chronic strains that are all top shelf products. This holds true for their edibles as well. The edibles offered at Medithrive range from then smaller dose edibles to heavily medicated grapefruit drinks or the delicious Bliss truffles that have yet to disappoint. The menu is broken down by indica and sativa with hybrids on either side depending on whether it is an indica or sativa dominant hybrid. Medithrive is also home to a great selection of concentrates ranging from the best sand hash in the entire state to the ever so tasty keif that is always in stock. The HIGH quality (as well as quantity since they are home to the 4 gram eighth) is what keeps me coming back to Medithrive, but Medithrive does not only offer high quality bud,edibles, and concentrates, they also always have a knowledgable staff that is always patient, kind, and compassionate always making me leave smiling. From the moment you step inside Medithrive you immediately notice how different it is from many other dispensaries. It is a CLEAN, well lit, modern, and welcoming environment. Every strain available is arranged on the counter in jars with the strain name listed so that you can see and smell the herb before you buy it (thrichome scopes are available). The next best thing about Medithrive is their website (www.medithrive.com) it is always kept up to date and strains are updated every day. Every time I go to Medithrive I check their inventory online before I leave so that I know that the strain that I want will be there when I arrive. Although it is a minor bonus, I thought that it was worth mentioning that their website works on both the iPhone and the iPad so you can even check their inventory if you are on the go. I have never had a hard time parking or dealing with the meters because Medithrive's neighbor is a liquor store and the people inside always are friendly and will give change to feed the meters. On top of the 4 gram eighth, Medithrive offers discounts if you spend a certain amount as well as free gifts for new patients. I don't usually write reviews for dispensaries, but Medithrive has treated me so well that I felt obligated to share my wonderful experience with all that are interested. My review is based off of my numerous experiences in dispensaries in the bay area, but none and I mean NONE can begin to be compared to the quality of product and service that Medithrive consistently offers their patients, which are treated more like family members. this has become the only dispensary i even go to anymore. it's less than three blocks from my house, less than one block from 16th/mission bart so it's super geographically convenient. that, however, is *not* the primary reason i visit this dispensary exclusively. i have lived in the bay area my whole life, i've been smoking marijuana since i was eleven years old and i've been a native san franciscan on and off - almost completely on (and in the mission) for over a decade. the reason i mention this is that if anyone is familiar with the finest bud in the world, i feel like i'm qualified to make a super informed decision. i can say, without a doubt, medithrive is home to the finest smoke in san francisco at any given time. add to that, the fact that the staff is extremely friendly, very knowledgeable and has a tendency to remember you on a person-to-person basis and remembers not only you, but your specific needs as a patient and what you have a tendency to be looking for. in addition, they often have compassion handouts and generally have the patients' best interest as their primary concern rather than some lame capitalist profit-oriented agenda. that's not to say you don't pay for what you get, and this isn't the ideal dispensary for low income patients, but you also get what you pay for... just because i have the resources to pay sixty bucks fo four grams of weed doesn't mean i'm gonna drop that kind of cash unless i feel it's totally worth every penny... and believe me, at medithrive, it is! i love these guys and they love me. simply the best. read more

First up, the location, while not the greatest ,it is gorgeous inside and more than I expected after having visited quite a few clubs in the city. They checked my note and card, signed me up for the collective and had me ready to go in no time. The menu is delightful. A few old school selections along with all the modern stuff one could expect. I appreciate the fact that the eighths are 4 grams, yes they cost a wee bit more, but has anyone ever known medicine to be cheap? No. I asked the gentlemen who was helping me about a few strains, he knew his stuff. I always find it refreshing when I am not dealing with someone put there just for aesthetic purposes if ya know what i mean! On my first visit I grabbed some lavender, which was tasty and quite a good stone, and skunk #1 which is an old school cross and was a great contrast to the lavender. Since I was there on the fouth of july I was also handed 2 free joints of some prerolled, which, smelled to me like pineapple but who knows. I went back a second time to further sample the menu, this time I grabbed NL#5xBubba, ChemDawg and Mr OG Kush. All were knockouts with not a weak nug among them. A free Rasta cookie was also handed to me for buying 3 strains, which i ate the next day and had a good buzz for a solid 5 hours. Overall this is my favorite club in San Francisco at the moment, while not the least expensive the quality more than makes up for it. This dispensary is a true testament to the evolution of the cannabis dispensary over the last few years. Everything about Medithrive is top-notch. My experience went something like this... I walked into the facility and was immediately impressed with the atmosphere and feel. Rich wood, brilliant lighting, moss accents, spotless surfaces, and an opaque marijuana window are all the more inviting to the patient. I was quickly verified with the friendly staff member at the front desk and then was whisked away to the peruse the long counter topped with jars of fine looking meds. The beautiful girl at the counter invited me to touch, smell, and feel all of the medications to my heart's desire. If I had any questions it would be easy to chat with her for a bit! The selection was just right for me. There were about 10 strains, all of which were very nice looking. Some people like more selection, but was easier for me to make a choice with fewer options. I picked out the Goo, which looked amazing and smelled equally impressive. It looked like it had been coated with powdered sugar! The price was pretty standard at $50+tax, but considering it was a 4.2g 1/8th of that quality, I felt I had gotten a steal. They also have some discount cards that you can take for your friends or for future use, so I was sure to grab some of those on my way out. Overall, Medithrive is a really great place. First impressions are always ever lasting and Medithrive makes you feel as though you have just walked into a first-class collective without the stuffiness and incense aroma of most local clubs. The decor is modern and pleasing. There are no Buddha's or vignette flags with red, yellow and green hues to be found. In fact, the complete opposite of a "420" skater hang out. The staff is professional and not some post-teen kid trying to school me on the meds. All of the staff are quite knowledgeable and will be more than happy to show you the beautiful variety of strains, in addition to some high quality hash, keef and edibles. Last time in I went with 4 edibles and a gram of hash. The edibles were a DD (double dose) and were absolutely fantastic. I do not like to make a solid opinion my first time around so I allowed myself the time to re-evaluate Medithrive's service and med quality over the next few weeks. I was not disappointed. These guys have the best quality med's around. Not only are they better priced than local collectives, the quality is waaayyy better. The owners and bud tenders of Medithrive seem like they only choose the best med's for their collective and are genuinely concerned about what your needs are.
