I've been going to SPARC on Polk since moving to the neighborhood about 1.5 years ago - Venus is a QUEEN and is always so helpful every time I've come in. She makes sure I'm set for any eligible discounts, ensuring I'm taken care of beyond trying to make a profit (not to mention she's always fitted up and ready for a friendly conversation!!). Highly recommend this spot and if you stop by, ask for Venus! Great products at competitive prices, which is hard to come by in SF. It's pretty unbelievable. I stopped coming to sparc a year ago because you always have debit card problems. Always have some kind of confusion in delivery. I had enough. You even gave me 400pt on the account to make up for it, which I never bothered to come in and use. Today I decide to give ya another chance. This place is beautiful inside with lots of friendly customer service. I've never tried m&m edibles before and they have them here! Good if u want to take small increments of around 3mg! They also have gummies and other products! They seem to have a different deal everyday and we got 40% off kahuna brand. There is also a small lounge with water, hot tea, and bathrooms for customers. This review is way overdue! When Sparc first opened, the staff was IMPRESSIVE. Fast forward a few years there have been staff and manager changes and I started to notice attitudes from them within my interactions. Whatever, we all have days and I am sure their dealing with the many people (public) walking in from Polk Street would be exhausting. I get it. I was a bartender and a cocktail server for many years; to this day I still have nightmares. Anyhow, to my point. Today I go in and notice completely new people working. I should say that I have not been in the store since Last Year (due to a previous incident with a Sparc manager), but today I decided to stop in as Sparc is the only store locally that sells the 10 pack of Lagunitas HiFi (my favorite sparkly). I decided to stock up and bought a bunch. As the young man behind the counter rang me up, he asked if I wanted bags for my items, I pointed toward my bags and said I had brought my own; then added that once I get them opened up he could help me bag everything. No Biggy, right? I then asked him if I had points I could use toward my purchase. He responds with "you bought everything on sale, OMG, all your items, wow, they are on sale." Though it was not effectively communicated to me, I took his response to mean that Sparc's policy is that they do not apply points to sale items. He finishes ringing me up, I point to my bags (assuming he was going to make due on his offer to help me) and pulled out my card to purchase. As I see the final amount ($240+), he walked away from me to help another customer at another register? HUH. Mid-transaction he walks away from me. As I'm looking at the total costs, a women walked up and took over the transaction. I asked her if my points could be used toward my purchase, or is it because the items are all on sale and I cannot? She looked at my order and said only ONE ITEM I purchased was on sale and I couldn't use my points on that one, but could on the remaining items. She subtracts my points from the total costs and its now $225 + tax. I pay with my card, even gave them $20+ tip, of which she was VERY excited about and thanked me, then asked if I wanted/handed me my receipt and walked away to help another customer at another register. WTF??? I have several LARGE items on the counter that I needed help with in bagging them. I tipped the "B" $20 smackeroos of which she was clearly excited about, but she couldn't be more customer service oriented and help me further? I should also mention, with me I had two dogs on leash with one that is scared shitless of people and the other who is always hoping to find anyone willing to pet him or give him a treat. So . . . I HAD MY HANDS FULL AND IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE IF ONE OF THE 2 EMPLOYEES could have HELPED BAG MY ITEMS. As I'm trying to get my dogs contained, put my cards away, and place my items in the bags, the woman comes back behind the counter and she notices I was struggling but tried very hard to ignore me. I finally spoke out and asked if I could have a word with her and then said it would have been nice if one of them would have helped me bag the items as I was clearly struggling with the dogs. She gave me the bitchiest look and said "we do not do that." I asked, "What, you don't bag items." She responded with "no, not when they are personal bags?" How is this store policy. SERIOUSLY SO . . . My new Policy is THAT when I shop in Sparc, NO MORE TIPS! read more

Best dispensary in the Nob Hill/Russian Hill/ Polk area! You need an ID to get in and bring your debit card or cash. Lots of great selection of products. Everyone there is so helpful and welcoming. They also like to show appreciation to their customers so they'll add on tinctures, bud, and other various things for free at checkout. What I like about this store is that you go in and shop like you're in a regular store like Walgreens. You don't have to order anything at a kiosk and wait for the rep to get your items. I been coming for years!! I spend a few hundred dollars at week, seriously for my father that has cancer and me. The man has done a fantastic job as a father so stoping at least 4 times a week. Lately noticed this place vibe has changed from amazing customer service to me feeling like I am being profiled and the tall lady looks are too much, her eyes get wide open like in her mind it's like alert alert! Someone of color is here to steal vibe and not walks but a high skip. I can also tell that because the brother that use to be a bud tender they only got him checking IDs only. He used to help customers with questions and cashier. It's like they don't trust him, again profiling him, this new management sucks. I started going somewhere else and get to find out, it's cheaper than here without point system!! Sorry you lost a thousand dollar a month customer. Harley, the manager, is one of the nicest humans around, along with the amazing and available staff he's got hired at the store. HARLEY, YOU ARE THE BEST!!! They're so friendly, and are incredible experts at tending to your cannabis needs, all while recommending new things to try. Although far from the office, I consistently recommend SPARC to every single one of my coworkers visiting the area.
