My go-to is the gyro combo with a side of greek potatoes (the latter are amazing, and you get so many it's like a double-side). The pitas are fresh and their tzatziki sauce is great. Service is always friendly and they get it to you quickly, though at peaks times (read: business lunch hour) there can be a line. There is a small dining room with booths and tables if you're looking to dine in. Mediterranean Grill is a place that's been in Atlanta for quite a while. To be exact, since 2001 with this Midtown location opening some time later. These were times when Beltline was not even around to help it boost in business. Not too many restaurants in the city can claim to have been around this long, especially with multiple locations. All the middle eastern classics are here and while nothing is spectacular, everything is good. The gyro wrap has plentiful gyro meat in it, on the other hand the bread itself is wet, which one can assume happens during preparation of the wrapping and the experience isn't particularly pleasant. The gyro meat itself is fine. Nothing about this gyro is really amazing, but also nothing is terrible. The price is $10 in 2025, which is reasonable for what it is. Aside from the food itself, the people are nice, everything happens quickly and the place is kept clean. My friend and I arrived on a Thursday afternoon. Parking lot is on the smaller size especially being shared with a few other stores directly nearby. There were a few other patrons during our time there but the higher volume is geared towards their take out orders. Orders are placed at the register and they call out the order number when ready. My friend and I shared the Falafel Plate and Vegetarian Plate with drinks of our choosing. The falafels were small, fried well and made with lots of herbs. I enjoyed their fresh hummus, soft pita wedges, and bright salad. Overall, we had a good experience walking out full and satisfied. I ordered the Falafel Sandwich, which included hummus and salad inside a pita, and a side of Greek Potatoes. Overall, the sandwich - although healthy - lacked flavor. The Greek Potatoes had zero seasoning. My partner ordered the Combination Feast, which came with shish kebab, kufta kebab, and gyro slices on top of a bed of rice. MG is the OG. Today's trip was a pleasant hike on the BeltLine from Ponce City Market down to Piedmont Park. It's a very popular route, both beginning and ending at a nice part of town. Wife and I walked peacefully down the path while our two kiddos jetted around the path on their candy colored bikes. There really is a lot of stuff on the Monroe/Piedmont corner, and the lunch lines at popular spots really show it. We had considered about heading over to Woody's for a sandwich (line too long), or over to Trader Joe's for some snacks (intense, elbow-throwing crowd with a touch of self-importance), or to Mellow Mushroom (while good, not feeling the Ben and Jerry-selling-pizza decor today). But, lo and behold our afternoon vibe was saved. Med Grill's midtown location is nestled in an oblong strip across from the park, with peaceful views of the football field. There are some other various food spots next door, but foot traffic is not overwhelming like some other spots in that area. MG is a known quantity in the Decatur area for their solid takeout that unifies the class strata of the Emory hospital corridor. Just wait in line, and behold the assembled collection of regular Joes, surgeons, professors, teenagers, and executive-looking types. Everyone seems to love the product. We love it too. I ordered (pictured) a nice chicken kabob sandwich, which arrived nicely nestled in pita with a Greek salad and some sauces. Wife got the tabbouleh with some kabob, kids dug into some fried potato chunks with a little chicken and hummus. While there was not a diversity of meats represented in our meal (all chicken for some reason), all dishes were as pleasant as could be. I was particularly happy with the tabbouleh, honestly. They were delightfully heavy handed with the lime and salt, which to me are the best and most precious components in that style of salad. Prices are totally reasonable, good value all around. When you're on that part of the BeltLine (or in Decatur!), give em a try. It's a good family spot that manages to be good all around. read more

Full disclosure, I order through UberEats. Every time I try to go in person, I can't find a parking space. The lot is tiny and it shares space with several other shops. Parking here is very difficult so I order via UberEats which almost doubles the cost. The food is excellent. I have ordered nearly everything on the menu. My favorites are the Gazbacho, it's always fresh and delicious, perfect for the dog days of Summer. The hummus is fantastic. The Falafel sandwich is fabulous, I wish it had more chickpea patties in it, but it's still a winner. The chicken kabob plate was divine, seasoned and cooked to perfection. This location has fulfilled several of those catering orders, often time with not much notice. They are friendly and operate with integrity. My wife and I met a friend to see a movie nearby. We had arrived early enough to grab lunch, so this was the venue we settled on. None of us had eaten here previously. They share a small parking lot with 2 - 3 other businesses. It appeared quite busy (in terms of cars) while we were there. We had parked at the theater's lot and just walked over. It is located about a block from the SE corner of Piedmont Park. You enter and turn right, then follow the wall around to the cash register. They have a couple of large menu boards on the wall. You order here and they put your food out on a table outside the kitchen for you to pick up. The menu was not huge, but had sufficient options within the 'Mediterranean' range. One of our group got a full gyro platter while the other 2 just got a gyro wrap. Two of us liked the food well enough; my wife wasn't a fan. Her wrap was pretty tough (in fairness, mine was slightly tough as well). Aside from that, I thought the wrap was okay. They provide two small cups of sauce to each patron. They had the traditional tzatziki sauce and also some spicy brown sauce. I added dabs of each between bites and liked the flavor. That said, we have a good Pita place (or two) much closer to where we live, so I don't think I'd make a special trip to Midtown to eat here. If you are in this general area and are craving a gyro, this is a decent choice. read more

The food at Med Grill was a bit hit or miss, but I'll be back for the hummus alone. I got the chicken kabob plate with hummus and spanakopita. Huge portion for the price! It also came with pita and some dipping sauces. Chicken kabob- 3/5. The flavor was nice but the kabob pieces were quite large. This made it a little drier than you might get otherwise. Hummus- 5/5. Some of the best hummus I've had in Atlanta. Very creamy and great flavor. Spanakopita- 2/5. Serviceable but very skimpy on the filling and not much feta. I would pass. I ordered a falafel wrap with Greek potatoes and a side Greek salad for dinner this evening and I wasn't that impressed. I know that Mediterranean Grill is a chain restaurant so maybe I should not have expected authentic flavor but they could at least try lol. So....the falafel wrap wasn't that bad but the Greek potatoes... I was dumbfounded. My expectation was grilled Greek potatoes with olive oil and Greek herbs and seasoning - you know, like the ones I had when I was in Greece. But, when I opened the container, it looked like it was country fried potatoes from Denny's restaurant and they tasted just like American "home fries". Nonetheless I was not impressed. The side Greek salad Was mediocre at best but I guess that's to be expected since it was just a side. Since this is a chain restaurant, keep your expectations low and maybe you would enjoy the food. Most of the food is done using kabobs on the grill. Ithought the food very tasty and plenty for two (We asked for a split meal). First time ever had grilled tomato and loved it! One disappointment was the skimpy glass of cabernet which was $21. Will order the house water next time. Another couple with us ordered the shrimp kabob and told the waiter it was tough and overcooked, they replaced it but result was the same. I think if you do shrimp on the grill it's bound to be on the chewy side. Because of her disappointment, they treated our group with a free dessert. The wait staff was wonderful, and the restaurant itself has a beautiful interior with a low noise level. Our group of 8 could easily talk with one another. I was visiting a friend for the weekend in Atlanta and on our way out of town we stopped at this quaint restaurant after looking for Greek Restaurants in the area. I cannot emphasize how absolutely delicious and flavorful this restaurant is and how fresh the ingredients are. The staff was so friendly and offered us some of his personal favorites that we should try. My boyfriend and I still talk about this place's food even here in Pensacola. Our local Greek restaurant here closed permanently from the pandemic so we were very happy to be able to have such great food from a local Greek restaurant. I would highly recommend this to others whether you want a quick bite or great takeout. Also just as an FYI they were all complying with COVID measures when we visited. read more

I should have believed the bad reviews. In a nut shell--this was not "real" Greek food. The salad was bad---they used iceberg lettuce and not romaine or spring mix! I cannot even digest iceberg lettuce. The gyro meat--tasted HORRIBLE. It tasted very off, like no other lamb meat I've ever eaten. It smelled and tasted like something you would feed to an animal. The dressing for the salad--equally awful. The stuffed grape leaves were not good at all. The rice tasted half-cooked. Even the pita was bad. All in all, I was disturbed at how bad this food was. I wasted money tonight. I write this review so You Don't Waste Your MONEY. I can honestly say--this is the first bad meal I've ATTEMPTED to eat that wound up in the trash. None of it was good.
