Very bad customer service received today. I typically get decent service with the pharmacy and the…read morephoto department, but today their shift leader was very rude. Walked in just to drop off a fedex box (normally in the back where the fedex sign is), walked past the cashier at the register which happens to be their shift leader, an older white guy who was already taking care of customer. He said something and we didn't hear him well and we thought he was talking to the customer he was taking care of. Speaks again with rude loud voice saying "fedex is here!", we apologized and told him we thought he was talking to the other customer, tells us "you didn't even acknowledged me!". Why be rude to your customers, why not greet us so that we know that you are talking to us first, before yelling something in the air and expect us to know right away you are talking to us. Wanted to say more things to him but kept it quick because I did not want to stay there any longer. Most times I receive great customer service, that was my first interaction with him. I wished I remembered his name, but I guess I didn't acknowledged him enough.

Out of many of the employees there at this location on South street, he is one of the best, and I hope he gets kudos for his hard and sincere work.

They are friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and highly professional. They made sure everything was correct, explained things clearly, and kept the process moving smoothly. This was honestly one of the worst pharmacy experiences I've had…read more I came in with two prescriptions because I was dealing with severe pain. I was told that one of my prescriptions wouldn't be available until Monday. I specifically asked what I was supposed to do about being in pain from Friday all the way until Monday, and the pharmacist essentially told me I needed to go to the second window and speak with another pharmacist so they could transfer it somewhere else. I went to the second window, only to be told that they actually had the medication there. So why wasn't I simply told that in the first place? Then I was told to wait another 15 minutes for the second prescription. When you are standing there in significant pain, having to go from one window to another and then wait around because the information wasn't communicated properly is incredibly frustrating. What made the experience even worse was that the first pharmacist barely explained my medication to me. I left without a proper explanation of what the prescription was for, how it was supposed to help, or what important precautions I should know. I had to find out the basic information myself afterward. When someone comes into a pharmacy with severe pain, communication and patient counseling should not be an afterthought. I shouldn't have to go home and research my own prescriptions because the pharmacist couldn't take a moment to explain them. The whole experience felt disorganized, unnecessarily difficult, and completely lacking in compassion. I expected much better from a pharmacy and especially from someone working directly with patients and their medications. Very disappointing experience.

Luckily, they had the medication I was looking for, and I had a nice chat with the checker. They'll be closing in a few months, and this location will be the last of Rite Aid's to close. A lot of merchandise from other Rite Aids will be sent here, so when they do go on clearance, there might be some good deals. Otherwise, I have to give five stars to the end of an era. With all the mergers over the years, I'm not sure if this one was always called Rite Aid. Where I grew up, they were called PayLess Drugs and didn't have Thrifty Ice Cream, which I miss. They did have a rack of square ice cream scoops if you want to pretend you just bought your home-created ice cream cone from Rite Aid. I'll probably stop in a few more times, as it's the only Rite Aid I know of that's still open. If anything, to pay homage to an old brand.

Today I went to pick up some protein shakes, which I placed an order for 4 packs. I didn't realize the associate only gave me 3 until I went back to check that I did place 4 in total. I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do since this never happened before. As I was trying to figure out what to do, I saw another associate passing by and I was able to tell him I was missing an item. He quickly went inside and grabbed the missing item and apologized even though it was not his fault. So nice and hard working! Thank you!
