TO THE MANAGER!! URGENT!!! 1/8/2026 I attempted to reach your customer service number, 888-299-9647 medicacom continue to bother me regarding returned equipment. I have sent emails to your "Supervisor Email address," but there has been no response. Respond to my emails; I've called and can't get this issue resolved! It's beyond harassment; I canceled the service, and you sent me a shipping label to return all the equipment, which I did. All of the modem, the cable, and it was sent and accepted by Mediacom. Now you're claiming "you all are lacking a white extender"; there isn't a white extender, and this is unacceptable. The home is under 800 square feet; why would I ever request an extender for such a small house? I AM CANCELLING BECAUSE YOUR COMPANY CONTINUALLY INCREASED MY CHARGES. There was never an white little box extender only the modern and cable. !!all equipment is returned already. AND MY BILL BECAME SO HIGH AND HALF OF THE TIME WE DIDN'T HAVE SERVICE!! The internet was constantly down, so I decided to cancel my service. I receive calls from MediaCom, and THIS IS HARASSMENT. Mediacom isn't just a terrible media/internet company, it may be the worst company to exist. I have now been without steady internet for 67 days. And when I mean steady, not only do I have constant outages from the hours 10am -9pm but at 9pm - 10am it goes out completely and does NOT turn back on! It's so insane. I have had over 22 techs out here, they and the 855 number tell me the same thing every damn day, "We're gonna put in a ticket for you and get maintenance out here" it has never happened. Finally got rid of mediacom and couldn't be happier. Over the last 5 years, we have had the most unreliable internet connection ever. Mediacom came out to service it at least a dozen times, never with any improvement. We had constant service interruptions, usually for about 5 min, but sometimes an entire day. Not once were we credited or given any kind of discount. Instead, they raised our rates every single year till we were paying about $100 a month which is twice as much as other providers out of town. So far I can highly recommend RACE and Starlink. Both have been infinitely better than mediacom. read more

Don't bother with getting Mediacom service. We have been using it since we didn't have other options. I am the one paying it and I kept noticing my bill would increased by $10 every few months. Unfortunately because my husband wants to watch sport and thought other services don't have it available so we kept getting stuck with it. My bill eventually increased from $280s to $347. I had enough so I told my husband to look for other services. My husband found out that Hulu does provide TV, recorded movies and sports channels for $89 (we were paying Mediacom $220 for TV alone). Since we still don't have other internet options, we called to cancel the TV service. They ended up cutting both the TV and internet by mistake. When we told them that, and even though it was their fault, they told us we have to pay $50 to reinstall the internet . So we say forget it. If you need internet service, check RACE to see if it serves your area. I contacted RACE and will pay $70 for 1 Gig (I paid Mediacom $120). I saved $180s per month by switching to other services. I like hulu because I gets to stream movies, which I don't have with Mediacom. So if you have Mediacom and want to switch, make sure other services like RACE is available in your area. To make sure you don't go without internet like we do, it is best to find out when your monthly period will end with Mediacom (they charge you full price even if you end the service just one day over the end of billing cycle and they takes about a week to cut the service). Contact other service at least two weeks before the end of the billing cycle to get their service because it can take them about two weeks to hook up the internet cable. Then contact Mediacom to set the date before end of the billing cycle to end the service. This way you don't end up like us having no internet for two weeks. I know it can take time to get other services but it can save you a lot of money. read more

We have been without internet for a week now. They did an update grade according to the 1 800 people when I call several times last week to complain that we were out. Had an appointment set up for someone to come out they were 2 doors down the same day and never showed up. Go in today February 9 after not having service since the 2nd at 8:15am and the office opens at 8:00am and the doors are locked finally find a tech and he says come back tomorrow no one is in the office today , now there is a sign on the door m-Friday 8-5pm . This company is unbelievable. In one of my what seems like a thousand calls this last week the lady had the nerve to one ask me if I would like to take care of my bill which is on auto pay and two that I could use my phone hotspot to watch tv . This is the last straw. Again today no internet it is always going up. And the service is terrible the people are rude they are not the only game in town anymore. Not a reliable provider of services. Goes down when it's windy (?) Parked a cherry picker truck in front of my house for 7 weeks to hold up a line that was severed when a huge Pepsi truck drove through a residential neighborhood, snagging cables, snapping a pool that careened through 3 yards before hanging up on my fence by my pool, damaging it and pulling my electrical lines from my house. Cost me 300.00 to have the power restored. Did I complain? I did not, but as soon as I could, I switched providers. It took them 7 weeks to replace the pole, hence the cherry picker in front of my mailbox holding up the repaired lines. That truck sat there for so long it needed a jump to start. My sons returned their modem and were told "no receipt" as their names not on account. Mediacom continued to bill me for the subsequent months despite my not using their service. When I attempted to straighten them out, was told, "well you owe us as you never CALLED to cancel service". Oh yeah? Well I'm gonna call the better business bureau, how's that? read more

Just great service for almost 10 years. The internet runs 3 T.Vs a computer ,tablets plus our cameras. Always works great. The price has gone up a little but not much. I'm sticking with Medicom because they are the best. read more

We've had two outages during work hours in the past 2 weeks where we've lost several hours of income, we work from home, and they could give a s*** about. All they offer is a measly $6 dollars of credit for the lost day of internet verses the hundreds of dollars lost from not being able to work. I have never had such an unreliable service. read more

For what I pay and what I get it's way too much. Frequent outages always happen at critical times. I just got my own modem because I got tired of paying the rental fee that seems to always increase. I started out paying $49 a month for my Mediacom internet service until my contract ran out in one year, and now I'm charged $92.98 a month for the same thing. The 2nd year it goes up $30, the next year up $10, until you get to $99.99 a year plus the cost of hardware and fines for data over-runs. I think the most insulting part of being required to use their service is their attitude that you don't know anything, and your router is the cause of the problem. Now if that isn't a rip off, but I'm stuck since they have a monopoly. But now I just found out that T-Mobile is in Ridgecrest. Their cost for internet service is $50 a month, no contract, no data caps, average download speeds in excess of 100Mbps, and modem\router provided at no cost. They sync off their 5G towers to provide reasonable speed internet. I've been testing it for a week and so far it works great. I'm about ready to say BYE-BYE Mediacom HELLO T-Mobile!!! read more

Absolute worst company. Do not use mediacom for anything. They don't understand how to install anything, employees are lazy and incompetent. When I was at work the technician went to my house to install the modem and my wife was there. He didn't listen to her regarding where she wanted the router and modem and just placed it in the middle of the living room. He took advantage of the fact she was a women and lied to her regarding the setup, as most contractors do. WHEN I WENT TO CLOSE THE ACCOUNT DOWN, I paid all my dues and they didn't log it in the system. They sent a meager 154 dollars, of which I already paid, to collections. I'm trying to refinance my house and I am being denied because it was sent to collections! On a charge I already settled! The incompetence, sheer lack of intelligence, and accountability of these people are on another spectrum. I currently have 1gb fiber optic with a full mesh system and wifi6 through Race Communications. I pay 40 dollars a month less for fully reliable internet. ABSOLUTLY, under any circumstances, DONT CHOOSE MEDIACOM for your internet. They will haunt you in the future. read more

Today our service was turned off, without a notice and the day before my husbands work might be closed because of the coronavirus and he needs internet to be able to work from home! My faith in customer service has been very low because of Medicom! Please think about customers and the world as a whole! This has been the worst ISP that has ever graced this planet and the whole reason they're at all successful is because it's the entire ISP in the internet infrastructure in the middle of the desert. They have had all sorts of issues that are easily resolvable. From dropped connections to ridiculously high latency makes anything other than using a computer for a Facebook machine impossible. I have been an unsatisfied customer for close to 5 years at 3 different locations in town and each time, they've spit on my expectations, which are even lower each time! They have no customer service, getting a tech out for intermittent connection is like asking them to give you free internet for a year, or at least that's how they act like, many of the techs are incompetent and incapable of resolving any issues outside of resolving tickets to "fixed." If you don't know exactly what's going on, many of the techs are clueless. God bless that they're having a new competitor. It may mean that they'll provide some service reputable enough to consider without having a straight monopoly in Ridgecrest. read more

They tell you that they can provide you with services, then charge you BEFORE services are rendered, then they tell you they can't provide service on they day of your install and will NOT refund you until you return the modem box. At first I had countless problems with Mediacom my Internet went down many times per day and I got very low speeds. I called in and told them my problem the rep told me to get a new modem from them however Mediacoms modems are very cheap and needs restarting many times a day so I bought my own. She also arranged a technician to come out and fix the line. A week later a technician arrived on time a fixed the problem in about an hour. I have had flawless internet ever since and am very satisfied with the speeds and reliability. read more

Mediacom is the WORST. My internet has dropped 3 times in the last 2 days. I work from home and am on the computer 8 plus hours a day. I rely on my internet. They just raised my rates due to my contract and this is not the first time i have had internet issues. When i call in for service, they tell me the first available technician is 1 1/2 weeks. Besides the horrible service of our internet only working from the hours of 8am-5pm monday-friday, for some reason they could never fix or figure out, the unfriendly customer service coming from the staff in the office was enough to make us leave Medicom for good. The guy with glasses is so rude. Any time I had a question he either talked to me like I was an idiot or he would seem overly annoyed that I had a question. He would also cut me off in the middle of asking a question just to act rude. If he was there when I went in to pay my bill I would just leave until I could have my boyfriend come with me or until he wasn't there. The girl working the office is nicer but she can't seem to figure out how to give the correct change. The first time she shorted me it was only about $3 and I didn't notice until I got to my car and started matching my receipt to my bill but I was in a hurry so I didn't go back. The next time she shorted me it was over $8 and when I said something she changed it and only gave me a $5 dollar bill so she was still over $3 off. After that I just started paying my bill online but even with that our monthly bill kept going up and up until it was $80 more than it was the month before. We cut back on all the "extras" we could but nothing helped. We switched to Frontier over a year ago and our bill has been between $55-60 each month. Best. Decision. Ever. read more

Mediacom service always drops. They tell us they'll fix it but nothing ever happens. It always drops. I told the office lady and says it looks like there is problems in your area. Unfortunately, this is the only "working" internet service in our whole town. All of the service techs at this location don't know what they're doing. I have had my service for over 2 years and had always had problems and every time a tech came over to "fix the problem" they would basically restart my modem and it would work for maybe a couple days and then go to crap again. I have dealt with at least 4 different techs ever since and finally this last time they sent out a technician all the way from Lake Isabella that actually resolved the problem.
