This company has terrible customer service issues especially with the MediaCom local office that employs a customer service narcissist which chooses to turn a simple process i.e. excepting payment into an issue refusing payment rather than helping those that cannot pay online for various reasons and those with disabilities and issues seeing properly. After giving him permission to write in the correct payable name to MediaCom (instead of EXTREME & very misleading; statements show EXTREME printed upper left hand corner in very large letters) on a prewritten and signed check from the person that holds the account with copy of current statement in hand: He absolutely refused to write in name and/or refused to take payment. Giving only 1 option but to pay online & did not care when I said I don't pay anything online. He also has done this sort of thing with a cash payment and refused to give me a receipt with account number on it as paid because I couldn't remember the password. He is menace and chooses to make it the worst service I've ever encountered. Especially when it comes time for making a payment on the same day is due. This is a 55+ senior community and this person chooses to make it impossible to present a payment to him. Steer clear and do not bother. This is my third week of having problems with mediacom. The phone automatic agents are very nice, even though the are not real! When I finally get someone to talk to by repeating "agent" 4 times, and listening to the agravateing female voice telling me all the options I have. The very nice agent tell me he will set up an appointment for me. I then go and diconnect everything, modem, router, electric plug. Wait about ten seconds. re-hook it up and whalla. I have phone and internet. I am now going to take the modem back to mediacom and ask for a new one. NEW! If that does not happen, new service will be sought! read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever received. Internet went out 7 days ago, waited 4 hours on Tuesday to be told repair guy left area, WITH SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT!! Rescheduled for today, appt was between 1-5 called at 3:30 "yep you will have a tech today, called at 4:40 "yes tech will be there between 4:31-5:01. Received call at 4:45 saying because we didn't answer a call tech was cancelled. Called at 4:47 on phone for over 20 min and was told "tech no longer in area but we can reschedule for tomorrow." Horrid, awful, pathetic service. Our internet has been crashing every morning at 730 & only woks in the middle of the night for more than a week. When we first called tech support, their excuse was Thanksgiving week they had no one available to come out. So they scheduled a service call for today. Now, we get a message saying a service tech won't be coming out today...seriously? In the meantime, we've blown through 3 extra cell data boosts bc our internet is broken! We've scheduled AT&T to install their internet so we can try it out...we live in Valley Center where we don't have many options so Mediacom has zero interest in providing even minimal customer service. Our daughter is taking college classes online making the situation intolerable. When Mediacom system runs, its great but Heaven help you when it goes down...and it goes down regularly. They never showed up and then the tried to say the tech called me he did but on a blocked number. Like who in the world expects a blocked number to be someone coming to install your internet. Our 3 TV's continually go out. We call, get walked through a series of clicks by some man or woman in India, then it may work or may not work. Then they set up an appointment for 5 days away. A serviceman comes out and he can't fix it, says it needs new lines. If it is not any better in a week, call him and he will come out day or night. Why in the hell doesn't he fix it then.? Isn't that what a serviceman is for.. I am tired of not seeing my television show. Little blue circles ..... a message that the living room dvr is not working, I click on the little TiVo button on top of remote then after a long line of options, I click watch live tv. I switched to Mediacm 1 month ago, it's terrible! We can't stream Netflix, our internet doesn't work half the time and regular TV is constantly pixelating. I have called them numerous times and they never come out. Today a service tech was to come out and he never showed up nor did he call. When we tried calling hm. He didn't answer. Do not use this company for residential service. Very high priced for channels you receive. Have had connection issues for months. Initially told had to wait 3-4 weeks for service. Today had 8-10am tech appointment. Called at 10am, told they would be here at 11am. Called at 12pm, told they would be here at 12:30pm. Called at 1:30pm, told they would still be coming and then hung up on me. Called at 1:30pm and assured they would be here today. When I called at 3pm - told they were not sure if they were coming and would call me back, still waiting for tech or someone to call me back. read more

Horrible customer service. At a customer in Sun City, come to find out they WILL NOT let you into their router. Also the installer left the existing router with DHCP issuing IP addresses (two DHCP servers running). Had to come back again with a switch so I could pull the existing router. read more

I wouldn't even give them one star. They are the worst company. We only have Internet and we're receiving 300 dollar bills monthly. The first time I got a bill, I called and they said we were paying in advance. Second month I called and they stated the same thing. Third time I was like Wth ok something isn't right. I am outraged at the conduct of several Mediacom field technicians that parked their work vehicles in front of my residence to work on their utility boxes. The boxes are surrounded by gravel on a slope in my yard. There are actually two slopes or grades that make up the landscaping upon which the boxes sit inbetween. Apprarently, these Mediacom employees decided that they are entitled to re-organize the gravel in my yard to suite their needs and make themselves more comfortable. They did this with any permission or authorization. It was a substantial and dramatic change that ultimately resulted in mounds of rock redistributed away from the original landscaping, at the bottom of the slopes and into the street. If that wasn't bad enough, that's how they left it. No effort to restore the damage or even to clean up whatsoever. It was as if they were spoiled teenagers waiting for their mother to clean up their mess. Who the hell do they think they are? We are notifying the park management as well as the Sheriff of the vandalism to my property and that I do not want any Mediacom trucks or employees in or around my property at all! MEDIACOM IS THE WORST! Make sure you watch them if you ever see them because if they take liberties on your property as they see fit, then what else will they justify at others expense. It's going on three weeks, two filed complaints, and three phone call attempts and I still haven't heard back from a supervisor or manager to resolve the workmanship issues that resulted from an unprofessional WiFi hook-up. My house is pre-wired, but regardless, the technician drilled holes through my stucco and interior wall and left the cable wire laid out across my side yard causing a trip hazard. After years of paying their salaries, when I called to Cancel, they showed their disdain for their customers; they lied over and over; never sent an e-mail as promised confirming the account was closed, as Christine( alleged Senior Agent) promised she would. Kept sending paper bills; kept sending e-mail bills, so I then had to call back and got Denise ( alleged Senior Agent) , who was pathetically rude and told me to drive over an hour away to some small branch and solve it there?! Unbelievable; then asked for a Supervisor, and got Supervisor Ashley, who then lied through her teeth and told me the e-mail bill I was reading to her verbatim was not from Mediacom?! Sent today 3/27 at 3:44 PT, 21 KB, with an active link to their site and my account which when clicked on was a bill; I read all this to her, but she continued to lie "It didn't come from Mediacom". and basically accused me of lying then hung up?! Christine, Denise and Ashley; all "Senior/Supervisor" so should be above average intelligence and competence; yet all foul, rude, smug, uncaring incompetent employees, who should all be fired. ****DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE*** This has been a complete nightmare for the past 3 months now. Just about 3 months ago our internet started to get very spotty, it would work one hour, and wouldn't work the next. As a month goes by it continues to get worse, so they say that they are having outages in our area and that is why. Well great it should be back up and running shortly. NOPE!!!! Call back again they say that it must be our modem... Great they will send someone out to fix it. NOPE!!!! The next available tech in your area will be out Oct,11th 2016, Well the funny thing was it was September 13th so it was going to take them almost 4 weeks to get a tech out... BUT DONT WORRY, we will credit your account they said. Got a 2 week credit for the 4 weeks it took their tech to get out to fix our modem. Oct 11th rolls around and the tech shows up (a few hours later than the window provided) Said it appears that your internet is working just fine, and shows no current interruptions. Of course it decided to work at the time he showed up, so he didn't replace or fix anything. Internet was back down about 2 hours after he left. Called back later that day and they said they do not know what the problem is since the tech came in and replaced my modem this morning???? Wait what!??? The tech put down that he replaced our modem and said he was on that service call for an hour. (He didn't step foot inside our house) and probably spent about 10 min in his van in the front before pulling away. I offered to send Mediacom the security footage from that morning but they said its not needed. I mean i'd like to know if one of my employees were out on the job stealing from me with their time. Any ways we are approaching almost a full month of absolutely no internet at all so its time to just cancel i guess. Although I am not a account holder, my mom is and all I have to say is this ISP is the worst in my experience. There is constant downtime for the internet, as in almost every day downtime. It has come to a point where I am not surprised anymore (nothing like playing battlefield to have your connection cut out in the middle of a match; video game life:p). As for the T.V service, its significantly better, but that too also experiences pix-elation and syncing problems between the audio and picture. Next, what the hell is this ClearAccess? I have to pay to manage the router? Yes of course, either pay to manage the router or just leave it open to attacks. Indeed, the workaround involves adding /index.asp after the default gateway address and your in, which most people won't know, but hackers will. Doesn't help that they do not change the default logins for the router either, so just about anyone could access it if they had the know how. Anyways, this problem of downtime has persisted for the longest and the times we do call, we always receive the message that they are experiencing high volumes of calls in the area, so it not a problem on our side. I know walking into the office bitching will not help anything, but this issue makes me more livid the more time that goes on with this issue. read more

I've had mediacom phone service for approximately 6-7 years. 6 or 7 years later mediacom STILL not or can't fix the issues i.e., cracking, cutting in & out or drop calls. I have done everything they suggest at least 3-4 times i, e., write down date, time & what happens when an issue arises. 2 supervisors & now the 3rd supervisor has just started. New supervisor was here on Thursday July 13 & he asked that I be patient & he's not aware what the issues are. Be PATIENT are you serious. So, what he was having me do didn't work so the next day July 14, 2017 I called him & he stated he would be at my house Monday July 17, 2017. NO SHOW or PHONE CALL. So, I called him & he said he would be over the next day. On July 17, 2017. Yep, NO SHOW or PHONE CALL. I called customer service & spoke with BECKY. Very rude & had the nerve to tell me I should go else where. There is another company in the area but I hear it's not better. Why would I go from bad to worst? So, on Friday July 21, 2017 I emailed him. He called me stating they have a BIG issue somewhere else. Then while talking with him he's trying to give me these BIG words (he spoke with an engineer) that the normal person wouldn't understand. Now, he's going to show up on Monday July 24, 2017. I'm not going to be patient any longer. If he can't fix it on 7/24/17 then my next step is the PUC........... But, they want their money to pay for something that doesn't work 24/7. They have given me 1 month of FREE service on my bungle package which was nice. BUT, COULD YOU PLEASE STAND BEHIND THE PRODUCT THAT YOU SELL? My daughter & her family moved to Georgia last year...OMG...MEDICACOM. She has the same issues with their phone......... So, it sounds to me that the phone service is HORRIBLE. The Manager MATTHEW MAHONEY, or MATT MAHONEY whom I met on several occasions because I had such pathetic service, fired 3 people and demoted 2 people within 3 months of his start day at the Sun City office, then got fired himself for stealing company money. He was almost boasting to me, a customer, about how he got these people fired and demoted. It's very sad. This company has horrible service and it hasn't improved much for ALL the times technicians have come to try and fix the problems. All I know is that other companies update their systems every couple years and Mediacom still has the same analog system they had for over 20 years.
