Although the technicians that come out here are great and very friendly, their general service is horrible. They've told me that it's Mediacom's fault but do nothing to resolve the issue. Hands down, the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. We had an appointment for the pickup of a cable box and remote. A person calls-telling me he needs to come in the house to reset my modem. I tell him our call for service was to pick up equipment. He says, if he can't come in the house, he will send us a box to send the equipment back. What? I told him I expect to see him soon. He never shows up. Apparently he is an independent contractor with Mediacon. Who is this person? Why is he insisting on needing to come in my house? Creepy and unsafe. They blew off an installation appointment - I had to call the day of the appt. to find out they had cancelled it. I had received a box full of equipment that I took back to FedEx the same day as the appt. Over a week later I am receiving calls that I need to send their stuff back. After spending 45 minutes on the phone with there mediacom technical support (w the Best Buy technicians telling them what needed to be done) I was told a mediacom technician had to come out to fix the router. I was assured this was a free service. Then I had the rudest mediacom technician show up and insist it was Best Buy's responsibility to tell mediacom what to do (even though they had) and then the mediacom tech said he should not of been sent out so now I will be charged a service fee. After further communications with them I chose to cancel my cable TV with them and remove the posting and rate them the same rating I feel most TV providers deserve. Over the years I have dealt with most every cable provider there is and direct TV and find all of them have at best poor customer service and Mediacom is no exception. Unfortunately we live in an area that the cable providers have been allowed to divvy up certain areas and neiberhoods so they have a monopoly and your only other choice would be a satellite provider. This allows them to raise their price and you do not have no other competition that we can go to. When I was searching for providers here I went in the local Xfinity office and was told that my development was serviced by Mediacom so they so their service would not be available to us so they were not an option. We have discussed this before in our HOA meetings and I am shore it will come up again this year. At this point I feel like perhaps our HOA should contact the states General Attorney to see why they do not compete against each other like they do in other areas. If you call after 5 you get routed overseas and no matter you say they remotely reset your modem!! They deny there are outages. I called to cancel and I said my service suck and the reply was "you haven't called us in a while"! Hi guys. It's a 3 day weekend. Am I headed out of town to enjoy it with my friends like I was supposed to be? NO! Why, you may ask? Well, it's because I am still sitting here waiting for my internet to be installed that I have already paid for. Window of time has come and gone, still nothing. But WAIT, there's more! See, this missed appointment today wasnt even supposed to happen because my original appointment was YESTERDAY! Yep. I raced home from work to be here and that window came and went. I called Mediacom and then the tech called directly and said he was running late and to give him half an hour. This was already 5:30 and I asked him to please hurry because I needed to run to the store to get things to fix my son dinner. He said half an hour. So I call back in half an hour after he's still not here. I told him I needed to feed my son. He chuckled and said "I'll be there....sometime". I call Mediacom again around 8. They say they are sorry. I cant be around on Friday, I work and I'm also headed put of town. I need internet and I need it now. Security cameras, the laptop I need to work, I expected my appointment and payment to actually MEAN something. I call tech back. He sounds like Towmater and I honestly think he hit the bar and got loaded and just said "hell with it" It's now 9 pm. Tech says he will be here in 20 minutes. He also told me an 888 number would be calling and told me not to answer because if I did I'd be rescheduled and couldnt get installed that night. So I didnt answer. I call Mediacom back and they basically said they had no idea what was going on but they'd call dispatch. I call tech again, AGAIN as it is approaching 10 pm on a weeknight. Now he wont answer at all. I call Mediacom AGAIN and they apologized. Um, ok, seriously who runs a company like this? 3 times in the several hours that elapsed AFTER my time window the tech assured me he was on his way. Then I straight up got ignored. Next day comes and I see that Mediacom generously rescheduled me for a time when I both work and after work, have a trip planned. Welp, I miss half a day of work and that window also came and went. Here I am now NOT ON MY TRIP because I'm sitting here waiting on this company to send a tech AGAIN and I feel on a soul level that I will be here til 10 AGAIN and get stood up AGAIN because they truly do not care. They already have my money, apparently my time and plans are not valuable. If I treated my clients this way I'd be out of a job. So unprofessional and downright rude. I deeply, deeply regret moving out of Spectrum territory and Mediacom should be ashamed of the way they do business. Update: 11:01 pm on second appointment, stood up AGAIN. Medicacom is the very worst TV service in the country. Every time there has been an outage or problem with connectivity, the earliest appointment we can get is one week to two weeks in the future. travis, if i don't get my service fixed today - i quit! i'm not going togo back and get all the dates and times, you have access to those details. but: 1st tech came out a couple of weeks ago - couldn't hook up a new tv. did nothing 2nd tech came out - andrew williams. very helpful, connected tv. however, didn't have a good feeling about his boss who came out,took him off the job, for a safety inspection, at 4:30 pm....he later let himself back into my house without me or my wife knowing he was in the house. again, bad feeling about this whole appointment. williams did tell me i should get my own router and modem and recommended 2 to buy , which i did ($179). he said he would come by on the following saturday to hook them up. (*after he left i noticed he knocked out another tv...) that was the the 13th. he said he would be here between 1200 -1pm. then texted and said he was running late from another call and would be here at 3pm. i waited until 7 pm and he never called /texted. 7 hours on a saturday wasted. i work for the army so i don't get much free time.....thanks.. the 3rd tech showed up a few days ago and he was very helpful , but couldn't fix my mini tevo box because he didn't have a replacement. i told him everything that happened and he said that shouldn't 't have happened. i sat in my den when he called to make today appointment and explained to the person (female) everything that happend and said i had an appointment today and it would be the techs first call of the day, between 0800 and 1000. i called at 1000 and "dan" told me it was scheduled for sometime between 0800-1200, not 1000. i called at 1215 and got "dan" back and he told me he would call the tech and get back with me. he never did. i then received a text and e-mail telling me i have an appointment on the 22 from 1000-1200. no idea who set that up - wasn't me. i then called back to customer service and the lady , after some time being on hold because she was trying to figure out what happened told me my appointment for today was from 1200-5pm. then she said it was canceled completely. i honestly don't know how your company could have screwed this up any worse. i will not waste any more of my time or money. if you were trying to get me to quit, congratulations, you succeeded. after i sent this note my wife called your comapny and talked to cris, a female. cris told her someone would definately be out here tonight, nlt 8pm. even gave her a job order # -# 608951. because of the horrible service i received earlier she called at 6:30 pm to check on the job order. she had the displeasure of talking to michael who told her that no one was coming and implied cris must have been lying. my wife is convinced i had made the right call earlier... i'll share my experience with as many new soldiers who transfer in to fort benning. mike burns col (r) u.s. army columbus, ga read more

The service is getting worse and worse by the day. The internet connection is poor and it's difficult to use Hulu Plus on the Apple TV. We've had the service techs come over multiple times and nothing ever really takes place except them taking a look at out equipment and jot down some "notes." I think we will be switching carriers soon. Such a drag really because I like using a local service but we can't take this poor connection any longer! And the only plan basically is $97/per month, even if you take back TiVo, etc. they itemize each but and bolt to come to that number anyway. We have been customers for many years. But we have noticed, their customer service is non-existent and any problems, they first blame you and want to argue instead of help. We are dropping them for sure. Any bad weather, their system goes down. We have not had service for more than two weeks and they continually lie to us at the Menifee branch office, that they are showing no problems. I called their corporate offices yesterday, told them what was going on and they told me, due to the fires, there is no service right now in Menifee Ca. This internet (non)provider is a complete joke. Read the reviews and avoided them but had no other choice after Frontier failed me. Called them, gave them all my info, they gave me plan options and it all sounded fair and legit...until they transferred me to the installation dept. now I had to start all over with providing information and basically told them what the other guy offered me, they sounded as if they were clueless as to who I spoke to earlier. They set an installation date 10 or so days in the future but said I could call back and see if any cancellations could speed that up. So I called back in a few days and they acted as if I was asking for for something impossible to imagine. So basically FU to me. The 10 long days passed and on the day of install 3 family members were at my house while I was at work. Install time was 5:30 pm. I ran some errands on the way home from work and when I got back in my car I noticed a missed call. The message was we tried calling you and since you didn't answer your phone at 5:55 pm, we cancelled your install appointment. WTF?? I immediately call them and they sounded as if they cared and put me on hold to call the tech to see if he would turn around from wherever he was trying to escape to and I was put on perpetual hold. I hung up after 10-12 minutes and called back. This time I asked for a supervisor and got a full blow off. Finally got to a supervisor who told me it was my fault for not answering my phone and he set up a new install date. Guess what? Yes, 10 days later!! I went ape shit and he put me on hold to see if he could get a better date. Another perpetual hold. This time I held out- I made dinner, ate, did the dishes... Still on hold. I hung up like an idiot after 45 minutes. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. So I'm keeping my appointment and I will answer the phone when they call and when the guy shows up I will unleash on him, the poor fuck. The local office personal are great , always helpful , my issue is with the 800 customer service department. I have several times called about outages only to be disconnected when I've asked the automated service for a person to talk too ! Mediacom is down on a weekly bases with no reason or estimated time of repairs. They treat long time customers terribly. They will not nogociate on plans with a current customers! I have been with Mediacom since December of last year. The service has been below mediocre the entire time, but hit an absolute low today. Last night, we realized our internet was disconnected, cable wasn't working, etc. I called Mediacom to find out why today. I was told that it was due to our account being in arrears. I explained that I had, in fact, called in a payment on 10/7/16. Mediacom even gave me a confirmation number for this payment. Apparently, that payment did not go through (no fault of my own, they are blaming Wells Fargo). They sent me no notice of this, and just shut everything off. Today they told me that the first available date to turn everything back on was 11/17/16, and that my bill would be DOUBLING. Yes, doubling due to the fact that they "had to shut our services off due to non-payment". I asked to speak to the Customer Service Supervisor, Gayle, who was absolutely no help. She was inconsiderate, rude, and FAR from what I would consider someone who works in Customer Service should be. I really feel that Mediacom is trying to monopolize the Valley Center, CA area due to lack of other providers. Well, I found another provider and am gladly switching. I will be filing a claim with the BBB against Mediacom. This company is an absolute joke. If you have any other option, go with it. read more

This is my third week of having problems with mediacom. The phone automatic agents are very nice, even though the are not real! When I finally get someone to talk to by repeating "agent" 4 times, and listening to the agravateing female voice telling me all the options I have. The very nice agent tell me he will set up an appointment for me. I then go and diconnect everything, modem, router, electric plug. Wait about ten seconds. re-hook it up and whalla. I have phone and internet. I am now going to take the modem back to mediacom and ask for a new one. NEW! If that does not happen, new service will be sought! read more
