Visiting from Los Angeles, my toddler accidentally crushed her hand, so we rushed here because it was the closest urgent care. We aren't familiar with the area, and my daughter was hysterical and clearly in pain. We walked into the lobby around 6:00 p.m. and stood there for quite a while because the front desk was completely unattended. Eventually, a staff member walked out, seemingly unable to read the room. She stared at us with a glazed-over expression and an odd smile. She asked what was wrong, and I explained that my daughter had injured her hand and needed an X-ray. She responded, verbatim: "He's busy right now but will be out soon." Who is "he"? A doctor? A provider? We had no idea. She then disappeared into the back without having us check in, collect our information, or fill out any paperwork, leaving us standing alone in the empty lobby. After waiting even longer, I called the front desk from my phone, hoping it would prompt someone to come out. The phone rang twice with no answer. I called again, and the same employee answered with, "Hi, how may I help you?" I said, "I'm standing in the lobby. Is anyone going to help us?" There wasn't a single other patient in the waiting room. She finally came back out and asked what insurance we had--which they accepted--but continued moving at an incredibly slow pace. At that point, I asked, "Can you tell me where there's a real urgent care?" We left and went to Scripps instead, where my daughter received prompt, professional care. This was one of the most bizarre and frustrating healthcare experiences I've ever had. If your child has an urgent injury, I would not recommend coming here. Definitely a scam! read more

I am a retired Marine that runs a very busy business in Sandiego. I don't have a lot of down time. I looked at my VA app for trusted VA community care company and found Medhero I have been running a lot and training my grand daughter who is joining the Marines this summer and my plantar fasciitis came back really bad. I have been limping and fighting through my runs so I decided I have to get this fixed. I called Medhero and they got me in same day was only there about an hour got the steroid needle in my foot in and out. Everyone was so nice and professional and super user friendly. They keep it simple. Thank you MedHero and the doctor who actually was a former Navy Flight Surgeon he was so easy to talk to and minimized the pain of that big needle going into my foot. Stay away from this place. Warning for those going to Medhero for a sports physical or anything else. They now charge $50 just to book the appointment and then another $60 for the sports physical. That's $110 for a sports physical! The $50 to book is new, I went through the same website I always have and thought I was paying for the appointment only to learn when I showed up it was in addition to the price. Apparently it's somewhere in the fine print. I have taken my kids for sports physicals here for years and there was never this additional fee. Last time it was $40 for them to see my kid for 5 minutes. I won't ever be coming back. What a rip off! read more

I'm super appreciative to have found this MEDHERO location on Yelp, and so grateful they were open on a Sunday when my son was on his third day of feeling sick. As other reviews state, the online and in-person check in process is smooth... I signed up on their website in advance and input all of our information including my Driver's License and Insurance Card Photos. We arrived on time and I received a text when they were ready to have us come inside. The front desk staff was friendly, accepted my co-pay, and we didn't have to wait too long to be taken back. We found the facility to be clean... The first Medical assistant we saw was Ashlyn and she was great with my son, performing a basic exam as well as a strep, covid and flu test. We were then seen by Cassidy, the PA-C on staff, who informed us of a positive Influenza B test and advised on next steps. Not ideal news but we were happy to have answers. Overall, a positive experience despite the circumstances. If you are reading this far and in need of an urgent care facility, this place is great. They also offer medspa services, but I was not paying much attention to that as I was handling my sick kid instead! Thanks again to the staff here... but hope not to see you again! read more

Medhero, La Costa, is my go-to urgent care. Open on Sunday, great service, easy scheduling, very professional. Yesterday, I discovered a rather large tick deeply attached to my right shoulder. Went to Medhero where Alex, a very professional PA, removed it completely. This process included a minor surgery to get it all out. She sent the tick off to a lab for Lyme diagnosis and gave me a prescription for an antibiotic. Thank you, Medhero, Alex, and all the fine support staff. read more

First time here and couldn't have had a better experience. First off, I couldn't find the place. The front desk person answered the phone and pleasantly told be me where to head in the parking lot. Once we got in, they had a sign they said "last patient registered at 7:30". We were past 7:30 and they so kindly still took us. No eye rolling or complaining. Just kindness. The medical assistant/X-ray guy actually seemed like he was happy to be working. Smiled the entire time and positive attitude. The doc was efficient and did what we needed for the night. I had a really bad fall and my entire right side was horribly bruised. As each breath hurt so much, I suspected that it may be a broken rib. I came in and the young man in the front was kind and patient with me as I had difficulty filling out the form on my cell phone. Audrey took me to my room. She took my medication and diagnosis information. She took my blood pressure and she was very sweet, soft spoken, kind and professional. The PA, Jacky was very thorough. She checked everything and I was impressed by how knowledgeable she is. She ordered xrays for my hip and ribs. I was taken to the xray area by the handsome and sweet Kamren. He is very professional and patient. It was the best xray experience I ever had. Turns out I have 3 broken ribs. It will take 4 to 8 weeks to recover. I was given an instruction letter about my care before I left. This is a fantastic urgent care facility. I hope I never have to, but if I do, this is where I'll be coming. read more

We arrived at 7:11 PM with our son, who was showing symptoms of pneumonia. Despite their posted hours of 8 AM to 8 PM, we were turned away because they don't accept new patients after 7 PM--even though they advertise being open until 8 PM. I asked why this policy isn't clearly communicated (it's not mentioned on their website), but didn't receive an answer. My boyfriend and I came in for a stingray sting and Brooklyn was extremely helpful. When we told the front desk he didn't have insurance they made sure to break down all of the costs for us before we even checked in. X-rays cost $60 out of pocket here which was a relief considering we thought they'd cost much more. Cam is an awesome x-ray tech here and made us laugh which lightened the mood! They also said if he comes back within the week just to get it checked out again that it would be free of charge. When we came back they were just as helpful and we were able to get peace of mind. :) read more

Today I wanted to share with everyone our horrible experience in this trash urgent care: my husband has brain cancer and is on chemotherapy for 4 days, but he has flu like symptoms this morning so we went to see doctor to get treated immediately. But after we checked in, they kept us waiting, a few of other patients checked in later than us was called in but not us. After waiting for more than 1 hour, after I asked why still waiting, they finally called my husband name. When I questioned their calling system, they asked me to get out of the waiting room without any right answer. What a trash urgent care and we will never come back again. Please remember these faces, and they called policemen later trying to stop me from telling everyone the truth. What a bunch of bitches! Plus: I question their professionalism now, because 2 days ago I was diagnosed as flu in the same urgent care and today they told my husband he doesn't have flu, even he has symptoms, we live in the same place everyday and how can this be? If this diagnosis cause consequences, I will sue them and question their medical license permit certification! Are they qualified as urgent care doctor? I've always appreciated this location. The wait usually is not long. in the past, you have been able to book online, however be aware of the new booking fee online that reserves your spot. Concierge type service. I love that you can get in right away with your insurance and get an x-ray if needed or medicine, etc., versus calling your doctor and waiting a day or two to get in and then if you need an x-ray, you always have to go somewhere else. I went to MedHero this morning for a very painful dislocated baby toe. After the X-rays the amazing physician said she could put it back in place. I opted to do it without any lidocaine.
