For the first time in my life, I broke out in hives. They are miserable. I was able to get in to have a telehealth visit at 7:45 with Myrna. She was very knowledgeable. She was thoughtful about how best to treat me. She shared numerous tools and advised how to use them (creams, OTC medication). To be able to get in to see someone that quickly was incredibly helpful. Being a long weekend I thought I was going to have to wait until Tuesday to see someone; this appointment kept me out of the ER, which saved me from potentially catching something more. I am grateful for the amazing care I received without waiting. I will be using Pearlman again. read more

Was at Clinic today for an eye injury. Called to get in as an emergency. They immediately told me to come. Amazing care always in that Clinic. Very clean with a soft music in background. Front desk and all team incredibly welcoming, nice, and friendly and very courteous . Dr Kalina, is a breathe of fresh air. I have never come across a doctor that is realistic as Dr Kalina. He is friendly, straight forward, gets to know you, and becomes an advocate for your health thru alternative methods other then being fed medication after medication from previous doctors. Dr Kalina's approach is fix the problem, dont maintain the problem with medication if able to do so. He is very caring, funny, and listens to his patients. Wish I would of found him long time ago! I went to the clinic last December as a new Medicare patient. While I did not see an actual doctor, I did see a nice nurse. She was helpful and I had a good visit. In January, she continued to be responsive to messages sent, including renewing critical prescriptions. However, I sent a message last week, then again this week and no reply. I called - turns out my provider is OOTO on maternity leave for months - ok fine. But apparently the team did not know and no one picked up my case and no one renewed my meds. After calls - they still couldn't renew my meds. I was in extreme pain and their ineffectiveness as a medical provider was a serious issue. This shows the clinic has significant internal system and process issues. I have since left the clinic and gone to Scripps - where get to see a REAL DOCTOR and they have their systems and process handled. Too bad -- I liked my initial visit, but the clinic was not able to maintain a consistent level of service for me, so I voted with my feet. read more

My first experience with Perlman was pretty bad. Waited for weeks for test results. Had to call and email multiple times to get in touch. Then I was overcharged for what could have been a message instead of a $50 video visit. Then they mishandled my referral which took months to sort out. read more

Came here for a laceration on my arm. Wait at Scripps urgent care was 1.5 hours and packed with people but I was able make an appointment here the same day. When I arrived there was nobody else in the waiting area and they quickly checked me in. Joel the PA was great and put surgical glue on my wound. I would definitely come back if needed. read more

I had my blood drawn at Pearlman Clinic in Encinitas. Adrianna was efficient, gentle, and compassionate. I literally did not feel the needle go into my vein and it's the first time I've had that experience although I've had my blood drawn hundreds of times. DR. Kalina is a great doctor. He listens to his patients and puts together a plan that is realistic. No plan is a fit for all. He would love to get you off medication, and fix the problem naturally. He is easy to talk to and can reach him anytime as he gives you his cell phone number. Elizabeth Symanski is so gentle, kind, funny, smart and just makes you feel so comfortable even though she has to ask many questions, and bring up topics that you may not want to address. So lucky to select this PCP group Perlman Clinic with urgent care facilities and many convenient locations. This beautiful drive on N. El Camino Real brought me to the town of Encinitas and this clinic, conveniently booked an appointment by Tabby from the main line, then made my way to Suite A200 on the second floor. I met with friendly staff and a clean office (Adriana was wonderful getting my stats ready before the visit with the doctor) and then the NP Laura Taylor was professional, great bedside manner in checking out my lungs for pneumonia, offering suggestions for treatment, X-rays, and the radiology office is just downstairs! The bathroom is clean, the waiting room is nicely decorated and offers hot tea while you wait (self serve) for your appointment. Love this place! Very nice experience. read more

While the facility in a medical office building is ordinary, the quality of care provided and calibre of staff is extraordinary! Professional, empathetic and especially thoughtful and prompt. Last year I was really concerned when I was no longer covered at another healthcare facility to which I was loyal. Perlman and UCSD have been nothing but great and consistently more thorough than previous care.
